A significant amount. That’s factoring in if we’d want to sell let alone to a team in the same division
Had he signed a new contract since last summer?

Not saying you won’t tell us to do one but a decent fee for a 29 year-old with what appears to be one year left on his contract I would think would be tempting.

I don’t think it would take that much to sign Kizzi. It’ll be peanuts to Stockport but would obviously feel reasonable money to us.

I would imagine if an enquiry is forthcoming we would require a fee that would both compensate for a loss of a key squad member whilst allowing us to sign an adequate replacement.

It may not be super mega bucks but I imagine if it were to come to that it would be a decent fee for this level.

If you weren’t a divisional rival and we had more than 5 weeks to get an adequate replacement than it could be different.

Providing a southern based player with familiar ties to the south would want a move. Unless you would significantly increase his wages obviously

By a club like Walsall do you mean a club that has consistently finished above Mansfield for several decades?

Not at all, they play a different style of football that would suit him better, which is why he’s gone there.

Nice try at attempting to put words in my mouth.

He’ll do better there with you than us, he just didn’t suit the style of play, and was really unlucky with injuries.

There’s something behind the scenes which we’ve not been told about though.

The 6 month loan makes sense for us as if we’re struggling cohld bring him back, but he doesn’t suit cloughs style of play so it’s an odd one.

As i said the other day, he’s had a bad deal, i wish him all the best as he’s always interviewed well. Can see why he’d react if he scored against us.

He is certainly capable of scoring at this level hope he does well here.

Every reason he could do.

Needs a manager who’ll give him a big of TLC and feed his ego though, if you’re a bit more straight talking and old school like clough can be, who knows.

If he’s got that and feels part of the team he could be a good acquisition.

I’d have liked to have thought we’d have had a clause in it where he can’t play against us though

Erh yeah I think he’d be getting multiples of current salary! We can’t compete. He’s come to the pro game late so will likely want to maximise earnings. One thing in stay factor is that he has just had a kid and so may want to remain in locality. His dad often joins our area at games and is a lovely guy so will see if he has heard anything on Sat if I see him.

But he has a good record, he had a good partnership with Wilkinson at Orient. I think he’s one most Walsall fans would welcome.

Wasn’t really a good partnership. Wilko did his usual ball-hogging and trying to score Ronaldo-esque goals and DJ was good at tapping it in if the goalie made a save. Never seemed on the same wavelength with flick-ons. Think Mansfield’s fullbacks got more assists for Johnson than Wilkinson did that season.

Lee Tomlin signed on a one year deal, impressively we’ve only signed one player on loan, a far cry from Darren Moore’s policy of having more loans the permanent players

Tbf you’ve effectively signed Tomlin on a 1-month loan. Wonder which month he’ll be fit?

He’s actually fit, looks a good 2 stone lighter than he did at Walsall. The approach will be that he won’t play more than 60 mins in a game

I would imagine that most league 2 clubs are still looking to sign a few player's. I know Wimbledon are still looking. The league won't start to take shape until October.

one player that I thought quite a few L2 clubs would look at was Cal Roberts at Notts County - but he's just signed for Aberdeen for a rumoured £100k+

I watched Hudlin come on for Wimbledon for the last 20 mins in our 0-0 draw at home to Oxford on Saturday. I can't see him starting too many game's for us this season. I'm don't think he's fit at the moment to be fare but I see him as someone to bring on if we're losing with 20 mins to go. Huddersfield have definitely taken a punt on him.

Funny how it was being touted that it would take 500k to get him

Meet the manager evening for us tonight Flynn and Hatswell came across very well said we are in talks with 2 attacking players with the hope if getting both done in time for the weekend.Flynn was also asked about targets we missed out on one was a striker that played in league one last season and it was between us and one other club he chose the other club also in this division as it was closer to home.

Not at an attempt at that at all. That was just what it sounded like.

Singed Khanya Leshabela on a six month loan from Leicester. He's a midfielder who had a loan at Shrewsbury last season but didn't make much of an impact so I'm not expecting much to be honest.

We've signed Jordan Turnbull on a 2 year deal. Bit out of the blue this one, but on paper looks a solid addition.

I'd be confident starting with a back 3 of Tom Davies, Niall Byrne, and Jordan Turnbull.

Was in League Two team of the season last time around wasn’t he? Brilliant signing.

That’s a great signing I was hoping we’d pick him up but presumed he’d go higher.

Fans moaning when we let 40/41 year old Peter Clarke go.. then we sign Robinson, Byrne, Turnbull to compete with Davies, along with development and backup signings of Hockenhull and Jameson.

Another ridiculous defensive record loading.

As expected did well on trial very quick.
Good luck with this - was utter turd for us last season. Runs around a lot barging into the oppo, giving away free kicks. Dreadful.
