Rob Hunt confirmed on a two year deal.

Happy with this, gives us much needed cover in both full back positions - his signing may well mean Dan Happe doesn't start on Saturday now, so Adam Thompson can move to centre half.

Wasn't expecting this, first time news broke was today and even my usual sources didn't know of it.

I think we're looking pretty good going into the season, but it does look a stronger league than last time, depth could well be our achilles heel.

No reason why we shouldn't be competing for the top 7 though.

Regan Ogle leaving Pools to join Scunny.
Pretty good signing for them, but behind Sterry & Tumilty in the RB pecking order.
He's like Forrest Gump but the footballer version. Head down, run but can't pass, tackle and poor positionally. Not anywhere good enough for me.

To be fair I didn’t think Ogle was a bad back up but with Tumilty coming in his game time was going to be limited, will do a good job for Scunny id imagine.

Hartlepool lad Ellis Taylor coming in from Sunlun.
Loans probably best for the lad, hopefully kicks on for us this season, similar to how Diamond did for Harrogate last year.

Any news on any other incomings before Saturday?

Harsh i think.
The sort of lad who will not stop, If fact has an engine on him
That will keep on going long after the final whistle.
And gets stuck in like his life depened on it.

Very good bit of business by scunny.

Yes, its all about opinions.
Don,t think anybody is better going forward than Jamie Sterry.
But i think he struggles preventing crosses coming in.

I won't hear a bad word about Jamie Sterry. But I reckon Tumilty might get more game time than him this season. He'd have to be pretty good to be better than Sterry but just a hunch Hartley will look to play his own signings more. Genuine depth and competition in the side but the caveat being that we don't know if the new lads are any good yet.

The odd time we saw Ogle he wasn't bad & was excellent at in the win at Bradford.

Obviously I’ve not seen Tumilty yet, but personally think he will have to be a hell of a signing to get in over Sterry providing Sterry stays fit. In my opinion he’s the most consistent performer since he signed.

Had Josh Parker all pre-season as a potential back-up forward but have announced we won't be signing him. Phew.

Tumilty has looked good and I can see him starting the first month or so, depends how he gets on, Sterry has barely kicked a ball all pre season.

Young (18 yo) Centre back Ben Nelson joins Dale on a season-long loan from Leicester.

Been in their squad for European games, and played for England U18s.

Sounds promising...

I appreciate Carlisle fans have an affinity to him but surely there are better options out there, his legs are made of biscuits and he hasn't even managed a 20 game season since he was last with you. Seems like you'll be using him as experience within the squad.

I always worry about CB’s that young making their first steps in men’s football.

We took an England youth international and Man Utd’s u23 captain Will Fish last season and he was a disaster.

We’ve been trying to get players in but as I’ve said many times it’s really fucking difficult when we’re almost every footballer’s 92nd choice of league club.

Our midfield is so weak in depth that we could really do with him for cover alone.

Our Squad numbers announced today no number 10 which suggests another striker or CAM is coming in.

Club legend Sam Minihan has joined Halifax.

Seven seasons, two promotions and over 200 appearances. Was never going to play a big part this year but still sad times.
Didn't realise it was 10/11 years ago he was on our books. Yikes! Thought it was more like 5.

Andy Smith is signing again today from Hull, was absolutely epic last season so I’m very excited by this.

As a defensive unit (including our solid midfield) we look very solid, I do worry where the goals are coming from aside from the obvious in McAtee

Half wish we'd signed him:
1) All accounts from Stockport say he's a decent player and a good bloke as well
2) Making your 2nd FL appearance 9+ years after your 1st, but for the same club, would be a thing...
