Jordan Turnbull is a great pick up for Tranmere. Would have welcomed him back here with open arms. Can play LB to if called upon but mainly a CB. Great beard also.
With our crazy Bayern esque high line we’ll need CBs that are good in one v one situations and he fits the bill with that.

We've signed Jordan Turnbull on a 2 year deal. Bit out of the blue this one, but on paper looks a solid addition.

I'd be confident starting with a back 3 of Tom Davies, Niall Byrne, and Jordan Turnbull.

That's a great signing. Wouldn't have minded us signing him actually

Some good quality signings by a fair few teams in league 2 this summer so far.

Its going to be a very competitive league with a lot of clubs in with a good shout of challenging. Hopefully my lot will be one of them

As expected did well on trial very quick.
The mind boggles!! Flynn signed him for us he soon found out he was about as useful as an ice cube in a volcano and froze him out, and now he sign's him for you, well at least it's your money he's wasting now and not our's.

Singed Khanya Leshabela on a six month loan from Leicester. He's a midfielder who had a loan at Shrewsbury last season but didn't make much of an impact so I'm not expecting much to be honest.

We had this lad on trial last pre-season. Jones said he would have signed him but we wanted a permanent and Leicester only wanted a loan deal, so he went back and eventually onto Shrewsbury where as you say he didnt seem to kick on.

Only saw him in pre-season games and he looked ok, but it sounds like we had genuine interest so there must be some sort of player in there if we thought he could be a part of a championship squad in some capacity.

Heard he was poor for you mate all I can say is he's done fairly well on trial and looked a threat more so when he's played out wide can't see him being a starter though

Will go some way and possibly more in filling the large football boots left by Peter Clarke!

Abraham played 3 + 9 for us in L2 but got booked for times. Scored two in the Trophy and one in the EFL Cup. He was out of contention before Christmas so you'd expect Fulham to have sent him somewhere else but we were, er, saddled.

I have never seen a player like him for running into blind alleys. He was very easy to dispossess and his stock response was to foul the player who tackled him, usually a shove in the back.

People were laughing when we signed him and Andy Williams but both have been very good in pre season for us.
There’s no way Clarke could have played in our current system, so it made sense we only offered him a backup role.

Our high line / press will leave centre backs high up the pitch and often 1v1 which isn’t where Clarke’s strengths are these days.

I’m sure he’s got another good season in him in a less attacking system though

I hope he works out for you bud!! but truefully i think you will get very frustrated very quickly.

Having said that we have you second game! so i would put my house on him scoring against us :)

Shocking for us too I think we had him on loan first. 4 appearances and no goals, never looked like scoring....utterly forgettable. Would rather have had Timmy from South Park

Wellens dipping into his black book of reliability. Solid and reliable right back. But not so much as wing back. Did really well here and always gave his all. Good signing for L'Orient, I reckon he's worth it.

Fancy Orient to be “dark horses” this season. Been a lot less noise around them than some other clubs but they’ve possibly built a better balanced team than some of those others.

Just seen the article.

Looks like Wellens is taking no chances after on our full backs after what happened to Tom James last season when he missed 6 months through injury and the club tried to bumble their way through it by signing young Dan Moss from Milwall and trying Otis Khan there - (neither option worked), before Jackett got sacked and Wellens reinstated Adam Thompson to the team to cover there.

We're still short in central midfield, ideally need 2 more players there - One of which has to be 25+ year old defensive midfielder with a bit of experience.

Other than that, despite the moronic meltdown from some of our fans moaning we haven't signed many players (because we did have a largely settled squad) we're about ready to go.

Caleb Chukwuemeka being linked from the Villa on a season loan.

Caleb came through our youth set up and also made a few first team appearances in our relegation season not that long ago. It looked like he had some ability but tbh he never worked very hard and didnt seem to use his frame very well at all. I wanted to see him get more game time see how he would develop but he wouldnt sign a new deal and Villa took him off of us. I think they signed him largely to please his older brother Carney (signed from us when he was 12) who is now being linked to AC Milan and Villa.

Caleb went on loan to Scotland but as far as a I can remember the manager there gave him a dressing down also because of his lack of work rate.

He has talent, but really needs to apply himself. Wouldnt necessarily expect him to get you that many goals tbh. Think a non league loan would do him good to build up his experience.

Agree with all of that.

They definitely only signed Caleb because his brother is being courted by Barcelona/Milan.

Also jord, we’ve got a 20% sell on for Carney, so that rumoured £15m would give us a nice chunk…

He was trialling here at Crawley for a while but we have two right backs (one the club captain) so we may not have offered a deal.

I do remember him as a good player though.
