I'd imagine if McAtee absolutely rips League 2 up Luton will want to recall him in January either for their squad or for a half season loan to League 1. A january recall options seems to be the case for most season long loans in the football league. But either way its still win win for Grimsby.
I will be stunned if we’ve not ensured it’s for the full season, we’d have taken less money because of that

I do wonder whether we’ll replace injured Osadebe.

Rumours all summer regarding the return of Dion Pereira, but he’s featured heavily for Luton this pre-season and was on the bench at the weekend against Birmingham.

Sutton and Gilliead can play on the right side, as can Chapman, but the former two don’t fill me with much confidence and Chapman still looks off it (fitness) - the latter looks better suited centrally, tbh. This conundrum in addition to losing Eisa (another winger), we seem a little light, particularly on that right-hand side.

My opinion is Pereira is one of the best signings we could make. He's exactly what we need, Firthy. Someone with pace, flair and the ability to go past people. We didn't really have the latter until Chapman came on. Gilly carries the ball really well but for me doesn't do enough when he's in dangerous positions. Eisa looked lively against Carlisle but not sure when/if we'll see him?

Carney Chukwuemeka to Chelsea for approx £15m apparently. We get 5% of that so £750k. Shame as it’s 20% of a fee if he went abroad.

We got Ben Whitfield off Stockport for an undisclosed fee - which was free plus a sell on clause... I can Imagine the fee being similar - the Scunny chairman is even tighter than Raj....
No one, And i mean no one is tighter than "value for money" Raj.

Don't know anything about Jayden Harris, had honestly never heard of him till 5 minutes ago, but the club must rate him highly to give him a 3 year contract.

It’s an area of the pitch we’ve been weak in numbers so much needed extra competition.

I didn't go to the match but Crawley played Aldershot in our last pre season friendly and the reports from the game said he looked a decent player.

He scored 1 and had a hand in another.

Good, now we just need another striker, centre back and left back should do us till January.

Paul Huntington would be a good experienced addition..

I highly doubt we’ll be signing a left back. We’re clearly going with wing backs and Dickenson and Armer seem to be the choice.

We don’t just need “another striker” we need one with pace. got to have a mix of diffferent options and apart from Patrick we do lack pace.

Huntington has pissed us about all summer one day he wants to sign, the next day he doesn’t, then he wants to, then he doesn’t. He can do one. We want committed players.

We need a left back/wing back because Dickinson is injured for a few months and he's not that good anyway.
As for getting a striker with pace well that would be good, but being picky is a luxury we can never seem to afford lol.

I’m hearing Idris Kanu from Posh, another non goal scoring forward & Jason Cummins from a former penal colony on the other side of the world.

At least that Cummings has scored goals wherever he's been.

We'll probably get the non goal scoring forward in though instead.

We had Cummings in league 1, was a good player and quite an “intelligent” footballer but he has none of that intelligence off the pitch and we sent him back after he turned up to a sponsors event pissed and tried to pick a fight with our captain and I believe Mick Harford which…yeah didn’t go down to well. Didn’t get a winners medal and was never seen of again here.

I thought he had been quite settled in Australia though, was even talk of him getting permanent citizenship and going for an Australia call up

(Based entirely on one TV interview a few years ago) 'The Cumdog' is the biggest knobhead in football.

One of those players (see also Derek Riordan, Leigh Griffiths) that scores loads of goals at Hibernian but then seems to turn into an absolute dickhead. (possibly fuelled by extra curricular substances - allegedly)

When the 2019/20 season was suspended and clubs were looking for other things to do we played Shrewsbury on FIFA as part of some competition with a few other clubs. We were represented by Harry McKirdy and Shrewsbury by Jason 'Cumdog' Cummins.

The shit banter was off the chart

i stand corrected. Didn't realise it was that serious, but having read the official statement it sounds like it could be way more than a few months. An ACL can usually be a season.

I think Bristol Rovers reckon they can sign Luke McCormick from Wimbledon for 200 grand. I think they'll have to pay nearer 500 grand .. Joey Barton no doubt hoping that if he continues not to play that Wimbledon will reduce the price the nearer it gets to the transfer window closing. Wimbledon don't need to sell player's so it will be interesting to see how this one plays out.

I've heard that our new signing Jayden Harris is supposed to be a complete shithouse, should feel right at home in this division then!

There’s more to it than we don’t need to sell, the disruption it can cause in the dressing room when a player wishes to leave and the club won’t allow can be more damaging. The rest of the squad will be watching what is happening and if they think he’s being treated unfairly they will probably decide being at Wimbledon isn’t a good thing. It really doesn’t matter what fans think a player is worth, you only get what another club wishes to pay and if said player has made it clear they want to leave it will be far less than you would expect

I'm not saying the club wouldn't allow him to leave. It's not what the fans think he's worth it's the club's valuation of him and I'm sure it's in excess of 500 grand and rightly so. At the end of the day Wimbledon will do what's right for the club. He still has 2 year's left on his contract and is probably our biggest earner so he's hardly being treated unfairly. In fact I'd say moving to Bristol Rovers is no more than a sideways step but that's his choice I guess

Nixon linking us to Scott Banks at Palace. He put out the same rumour in January and it never happened but we do need a winger.
