Not sure it's financial or just clubs realising that it makes more sense to sign up players who have impressed enough to step up a level, rather than players dropping down from a higher level because they can't cut it.
We've signed Waters, Whitfield, Warren and Nwabuokei from non-league for our starting line-up. Much better than shite like that Dion Donohue from you guys who was just looking for a pay day.
Dion Donohue was good for us. Clearly an absolute nut-case off the pitch and his career has gone nowhere since he left us I believe. I think he had family issues as well possibly?
Yes there absolutely is value to be had from non-league. Charlie Austin from Poole Town and Ben Gladwin from Marlow the ones that stand out for us. Obviously it's never guaranteed but you can hit gold - as Peterborough have proved repeatedly down the years.
