It’ll be interesting to see how he fits in, whether he’s primarily a wide player or number ten.

isn't he the guy that MH denied any knowledge of an interest in him in the press conference before you played us?

I tend not to take any notice of pre-match pressers, they’re generally 15 mins worth of tosh; players, managers and journalists asking/answering the same questions.

To be honest it's just the NWC who aren't happy, they whinge and moan like fuck about something, then come back a month later ready and raring, they do make for a good atmosphere on a match day but they go on like there was never an atmosphere at Pools before they turned up.
To be fair,there wasn't.
The atmosphere was non existent for a good few seasons.

This is true which was coupled with our worst period in history, no fucker could be arsed and these give everyone a shot in the arm, but there was always a cracking atmosphere from the Town End for years and years well before these were even a thing.

Also, Alan Nixon is a fraud, if anyone gives him £2 for his shite rumours you need a lobotomy.

He is the player that MH refused to comment on in Thursdays press conference. He never denied the interest.

Nixon called the Scott Banks rumour to us in January, I understand injury thwarted that plan. He also called it right recently that we were back in for him

We've signed David Moyo, been plying his trade for Hamilton in Scotland for the last few seasons as well as the regionals. Can't see him being anything more than a squad option.

We've signed another forward. Rayhaan Tulloch on a season long loan from WBA. That's 5 FWs we have now. I can't see any of our existing players going out on loan and they all have more first team experience than Tulloch.
Obvs I hope he's the lower league Haaland and bangs in 30 goals. But I just don't understand the signing. Not when we are desperate for cover in other areas as and Dale, Crewe or Gills fan will tell you. AMF, LB, RB. I appreciate there's a long time left in the window. But this one has puzzled me!

Looks like we’re loaning Lutons new signing Aribim Pepple. His background looks really interesting and he had enough about him for Luton to buy him and had a year at Getafe. One of those where he’ll be mint or absolutely shite but it’s slightly more exciting than some kid who’s been sat in an academy doing nothing for years
Confirmed

His year at Getafe was in the under 19’s?

Not saying he hasn’t got anything about him, and there must be something for Luton to take a punt too, but I wouldn’t really be bigging it up.

Palace fans he's primarily a left winger? They seem to rate him very highl...
I remember they said the same about James Daly & Sion Spence when they came to us. Both now Non League.

Although Nixon called it, it was someone else closer to the club that told me on Friday it was more or less a done deal. It was confirmed today.
Nixon links players with loads of clubs,he has to get one right.

Season long loan, who knows, he might be awesome or we may never see him play in the first team.

However with 7 subs being allowed he would most likely get a chance at almost every club in Division 4, even a club with a fish part for their nickname name!

EDIT BIT: He's starting tonight in the League Cup against Crewe.

Still looking to bring 2 more in according to our owners who did an interview today i would guess they would be a left back and a centre back as cover.

Apparently bid for Salford’s Brandon Thomas-Asante with a deal described as ‘close’…

I can’t say I watch much football these days beyond OUFC and a few other bits so don’t know much about him other than he’s quick I’m guessing!?

We’re on the verge of signing Paul Huntington. Last of Preston North End last season.

Good experienced defensive signing that we’ve been crying out for.

Hunts has still got it. Never had pace, just let him head, block, clear, and organise.

One of my favourite PNE players in the last ten years.

That's what you all said about John Welsh and he was a complete and utter disaster for us.

Bit different for a CB. If Welsh could no longer cover ground to mop up then he served no purpose.

Tom Clarke seems to have done well since leaving us, and he was more finished than Hunts.

Once fit enough to play (think it’ll be a few weeks having had no preseason), he’ll play middle of a back 3. The 2 lads either side are fairly quick for defenders. So might suit him.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
On paper that is the type of signing Carlisle have needed, not someone who is specifically here for their individual gameplay, but more for their direction and guidance……Carlisle haven’t had much of that for a little while.

Of course I always think with old players it’s their passion and energy at key components to how well they do, are they at club for a final payday and because of a lack of options or here because of a passion to still enjoy and play the game

Bet fans of all clubs down here have seen their selection of both. Huntington has all the attributes, experience, can organise etc etc but will he give them younger defenders that drive and passion, show the others the example.

We will see, I hope his carlisle links should give him that passion, but my question would be……….why sign this late without my thinking being ‘because no one else came in who you’d prefered’
