Stockport County.
Not scored much but apparently Alty fans have been happy with his contribution otherwise, played a big role in their turnaround
Alty fans are gutted he's gone.

Alty are being picked apart this window to be fair, they'd just built up some good momentum and they've lost Newby, Colclough and now Jennings. Rumours that Mullarkey could be off too, and I'll personally be very surprised if Conn-Clarke doesn't get recalled by Fleetwood as he's been in stunning form lately.

Looks as though we have signed Caolan Lavery after his short term contract with Scunthorpe finished, need a couple of Centre Mids now

Oh my, amazed he has got another gig in the Football League.

Truly the most anonymous footballer I've seen for us when selected to play. Its like playing with 10 men

Lavery strikes me as somebody who found his level at a bottom of the table national league side

Rarely passes 5 goals a season at EFL level, not one to set the pulses racing.

Had him last season on trial, played in loads of friendlies, we didn't have a single forward at the club and he never got a contract. Says it all.

We were told the same when we signed Miller, he hasn’t done too bad. Problem we have is that we have absolutely no options off the bench at least he has more pace than Clayton

Had Lavery for 2 years dreadful striker.
Not sure what position he will play for us, we now have Hurst, Rowe, Miller and Lavery on the left, Miller, Miller and Lavery in the middle and Molyneux, Miller and Lavery on the right so it’s likely interchangeable and hopefully helps to keep a level of intensity for the full 90 minutes rather than what we’ve had until now. I’m not expecting much from him so hard to feel disappointed

I do try to give honest answers when someone signs a blasted turncoat who let everyone down when he left us for an extra few coppers.

No bitterness from me.

This thread always makes me chuckle.

Club signs a player, 5 people from previous clubs label him shit, repeat for every signing.
Not entirely true. Reed left us for Mansfield and nobody had a bad word to say. Lyden left us, now at Orient nobody has denied he’s a good player - just very injury prone.

Managers are different. Lindsey was a heap of shit!

A rumour (admittedly entirely from the Chesterfield end) that we put in a bid for Tshimanga's release clause but he turned us down. Release clause supposed to be about 250k, so if there's any truth in the story then it looks like we've got about that much to spend on another forward.

Lavery getting a slating on the Donny Forum. Stuck in the destination championship years still.

He's that rare thing for us, a big tall lad that scores a few goals. Don't blame him going for guaranteed income somewhere.

When are you lot selling Whiteman?
Dunno, our tactic is to reject good multi-million pound bids for players and let them leave for about £500k when they have 6 months left on their contract.

We have had a bid rejected for Aiden Keena, top scorer in the League of Ireland last season. There are several other clubs interested, including moneybags Colchester, so unlikely we will get him.

We had him for a very short spell when we were in the national league, looked half decent albeit young and raw, then left to move up Scotland somewhere if I remember rightly

I remember him going to Plymouth from us on loan in 2013 and scoring a few so we recalled him mid Jan and he got the final two in a 6 nil battering of Leeds.

He seems to not stay around at a club for long.

Sounds like you’re a Gills fan. That’s been our tactics for 10 years. Although for £500k, substitute £50k plus add ons.

Lavery may have very valid reasons for moving, such as more money, longer contract or more convenient base, but it's a pity that he's moved on so quickly from a situation he was having success at, and getting matches at.

That’s right, he got his woman up the duff and made a hasty retreat back up to Scotland, thought he was decent also

No chance the release clause is 250k, that's what they paid Borehamwood for him. It's more likely 4-500k if their fans are to be believed.

The £250k figure is coming from their fans
