Good window overall. Obviously Charlie Austin was massive - as was keeping Jonny Williams. Blake-Tracey and Tomlinson both excellent. Know nothing about the Bristol City kid - big unit and likes to get stuck in apparently.

Just need Morris to sprinkle a bit of magic dust over Lindsey’s dull regime.

Jack Spong on loan from Brighton. The sick note from Mansfield. Is he a full back or winger?

I think our attack looks worse our midfield better and defence worse.

By the sound of it Roles won't play much, Gladwin will and the Mansfield lad may play at right back.

I don't know about the keeper. In a business sense it's ridiculous we let a perfectly good keeper go for nothing and are having to fork out to replace him.

No strong forward which we have needed for a couple of seasons.

Well, last night was interesting. Got home from work at 10:45 and nowt apart from numerous bids from Bristol City for Jack Currie. Major toys out of the pram from their supporters on twitter because we turned them down.

Anyhoo, by 00:20 we'd announced Aaron Pierre from Sutton on a contract until the end of the season, Diallang Jaiyesimi on loan from Charlton and Kasey McAteer on loan from Leicester.

I like DJ. Bit of a maverick. Got £700,000 from Charlton apparently. Or, more precisely, Lee Power’s back pocket did.

I miss DJ, one of those rare players that has the ability to get fans off their seats. You, and I suspect he, won't know what he is going to do next.

I'm gonna say the window is overall slightly better than the summer but we are still deficient at the back and Jennings does look a poor call to me.

Happy enough with Kemp, Kiernan and Finney. About as good as we could hope for, lots more options in that horrendous midfield. Seems slightly strange that a couple are primarily wingers mind.

We obviously couldn't land any of our targets up front so we have to hope Umerah stays fit and Hamilton, Joe Grey need to step up as well.

I'll give this window on the face of it a 5/10. Who knows if it's enough to beat the drop but the squad looks more competitive at least. Biggest plus point is we didn't lose Umerah or Sterry although risk losing the latter for free in the summer.

I agree but it’s quite telling and sad that that’s the highlight of our window, not cashing in on our best player, mind that could change as the Scottish window is open until tonight, there's still time to shift our Scottish muck back up the border, now THAT would be the highlight of the window!

He’s a full back that should be a winger because he has no idea what defending is, but can whip in a decent cross on his day. Pacey too.

Sutton deadline day moves were Aaron Pierre moving to Wimbledon, Lewis Ward mutually agreeing to end his contract and young defender Tobi Ogundega going on loan to Salisbury.

We’ve bought in Tyla Dickenson on loan from Wycombe, one presumes as a support for Jack Rose in goal.

Murray is linked to Dunfermline but my mate who supports them doesn't think they'll have him back as apparently he acted a bit of a c*** to get his dream move to Kilmarnock's sub bench.

Falkirk it is then, hopefully.

I think we might be signing Ward. Apparently he trained with us yesterday. Good deal getting some cash from you and then getting him back for nothing to sit on the bench!

Some suggesting Charlie Wyke returning to VP on loan. He was in the away end at Stockport last Tues - but I know he’s still pally with Gilliead.

2+2=5

Still awaiting to hear back from the EFL.

I didn't know he was at Stockport but I'd love him back here. Top quality player at L1 level let alone L2.

Us and Gills are in for some out of contract right back from Charlton. The next Ban Wisaja by all accounts.

If he is that good why isn't he under contract?

Our dof promised a signing yesterday but hey ho

Casey
Irke Orji young promising fullback from Chatham.
Just passed his medical at Gills.
Number 11 of the window.

Good to know with one of the biggest recruitment teams and budget in the division the best left sided defender we can find after three transfer windows is a Barrow hand me down.

He started as a 10 or an AML for us but he didn’t have that in him anymore and then since coming back from his recovery he’s continually played up top for us/Alty.

No pace, lost his ability to press well, first touch often lacking and doesn’t score goals.

He was like that before he was diagnosed with cancer but tbf to him we don’t when it started it have an impact on him.
You're an idiot

I thought he was useful when he played for us last season and can fill a couple of positions. We are shipping goals for fun at the moment and I'd have kept him here in all honesty, purely for defensive competition.

Fair enough, can’t be worse than our current LCB. If he can cover DM then it also fills a gap in our squad.

He was playing in midfield for Dundee when he was on loan there for the first half of the season.

And you’re extremely touchy about any kind of criticism of Connor Jennings, a guy who went through a lot and hope proves me wrong and gets his mojo back but was utter shite for us and I’m not sure why you again feel the need to start name calling because someone dares to have a different opinion to you.

Connor Jennings on a permanent from Stockport, hope he's not the striker we've been chasing all this time.
Very good national league north player.

Connor has become a traditional bi-annual feature in our Transfer Rumours Thread over the last 9 years.

Hearing that both Dallas and Vernam were at BP on Monday and Tuesday but terms couldn't be agreed.

Would assume it was peanuts. He’s not a good keeper. Think he belongs in non league (if he wants a no 1 spot).

How reliable is that source? No matter how some try and dress it up, this window has been pretty pathetic and I hope we find out why next week. Hurst’s mantra of maintaining a tight wage structure is going to make us lose out on quality for the sake of slightly more harmony. It worked last year when we didn’t have a window and could keep adding throughout the season but the EFL doesn’t work like that. Quite how we’ve spent circa 100k on Alex Hunt in the summer leaves me bewildered tbh!

Dallas fucked up 2 one on ones last night, put one wide and ran the other one out for a goal kick, maybe dodged a bit of a bullet there?

Yeah, be glad you did what J.R Ewing couldn't.
