Stockport County.
Dallas fucked up 2 one on ones last night, put one wide and ran the other one out for a goal kick, maybe dodged a bit of a bullet there?
Did the same at E.P against us last season. Missed two great chances.

Would have been a good signing for Grimsby but I don't think he would have catapulted you. If the money wasn't right, I think you've done the right thing by loaning and then waiting to see what's available in the summer.

How reliable is that source? No matter how some try and dress it up, this window has been pretty pathetic and I hope we find out why next week. Hurst’s mantra of maintaining a tight wage structure is going to make us lose out on quality for the sake of slightly more harmony. It worked last year when we didn’t have a window and could keep adding throughout the season but the EFL doesn’t work like that. Quite how we’ve spent circa 100k on Alex Hunt in the summer leaves me bewildered tbh!

Someone in a WhatsApp group I'm in, he admits his source no longer works for the club so in his words "take it with a pinch of salt" but he has always posted when we are about to announce someone before it is announced, including yesterday.

Yes after a day of reflection I can now confirm that I didn't even want Dallas, Vernam and Mullarkey anyway.

Matt Dannatt Tweeted me earlier and said the club did everything possible to get Vernam here but Lincoln wouldn’t let him go so him being at Blundell Park this week for talks doesn’t sound too reliable.

Quiet/odd window for us. Jamie McCart and Ed Turns brought in to compete for the spot alongside Omar Beckles (though I’d not be picking either of them) and Jordan Lyden signed after 18 months out of the sport. Demented lamppost Harry Smith also rejoined the squad after a period of self-imposed exile from the game. Much will rest on new loanee Kieran Sadlier getting up to speed and providing the creativity that has gone missing in recent months.

No departures of note, with fringe player Conor Wood loaned to the Ewes and Chelsea loanee Jayden Wareham banished back to Chelsea u23s where he can get back to the non-contact sport he probably excels at.

This is pure conjecture, but could it have been a case where the player and agent had agreed that Vernam was happy to make the move but the sticking point was working out the transfer/loan deal agreement with Lincoln. The player could have been at the club as if the deal was then subsequently agreed, he could have quickly done his medical etc?

Yeah could be I guess. there is a fans forum this week so I’d imagine all will become clearer then as to how and why we missed out on all of our main targets.

I've heard from several people that Vernam would rather be at Town than Lincoln, sounds very much like that one is Lincoln keeping him hostage.

Wishful thinking. I'm fully expecting the same old explanations. Multiple factors, waiting on other clubs, location of club makes things difficult...before reassuring us that there is money available.

The EFL are STILL deciding whether our late signing on deadline day is able to be given the green light (can’t see it myself), surely it’s either submitted in time or not?

Baffling.

I initially thought it was another loan, but actually a fee was agreed with the other club.

Wonder if we’ll ever find out who it was if the EFL reject the transfer.

We’ve just signed Owen Gallagher.
Any good Casey?
Never really saw him. Played the first game last season got a season ending injury and wasn't part of the Wagmi master plan this season.

The bits and pieces I have seen he looks like a decent left back with an eye for a clever through ball.

We've signed Jed Brown to our development squad.

Remember the YouTubers who came and trained with us before the fa cup 1st round? He is one of them lads.

Long way to go but good luck to him.

I think I'm right in saying he's the non-Youtuber out of the three of them.

Either way, it's absolutely not a risk if he has something about him that could be nurtured - which I almost guarantee no-one here or on most forums will have any idea about!

After all the fuss over Harry Smith, it looks like he's played his last game for the club. He's put a message out on his Instagram saying he's Leaving. Rumour is he's heading off to play for Maidstone - not sure if its a loan yet or not. It will be a non league club in the London/Kent area close to his home.

He wasn't in the squad on Saturday and everyone presumed he was injured, after the game Wellens avoided the questions about him.

He has his uses, but he doesn't fit Wellens style of play - He prefers quick strikers who run and press and Sadly Harry Smith isn't that sort of player, if he wants game time here it will only be as a bench player and Smith would clearly prefer to start games.

If only this could've been sorted a month ago......................

I think he made a mistake going to Exeter on loan when we were interested, although understandable of course, we’re literally right on his doorstep. Will be interesting to see where he ends up.

100% for sure, he got a move a league higher and wanted to give it a go, but sadly his personal problems got to him again. He'd have been much better playing for you, might have even scored a few more goals for you!

We could certainly have done with him the first half of the season that’s for sure, we were willing at that point to pay a fee too. Has he had repeated spells out when his head isn’t in it?

Clayton is a great professional but his legs have gone, he slowed our play down when he played. It’s been apparent since Schofield came in that he wasn’t in our plans, in respect wether it’s a good or bad thing for us depends on us getting a replacement, we needed one centre mid before he left, now it’s two, a striker and ideally a right winger, can’t see us getting all of them

Early days but Clayton has been excellent in his first couple of games for us.

Our midfield looking much better with him so far.

He struggled at Macclesfield and I think its always been there with him since - He's had issues with gambling.

I was told this evening that part of the reason he's been released is because of these gambling problems, its been affecting him and may have caused one or two issues with other players behind the scenes, so the club have decided in the last week just to move him on. Not sure how true this is though and if there were similar issues this season at Exeter.

A shame as he did bag 15 goals last season - his best ever return.

He has been on the radar of Maidstone, that much I know. Not heard that it's gone any further than a chat though.

We've had a bit of a change in the goalkeeping ranks. Aaron Chapman has departed for Scunthorpe on a permanent deal and we've added Adam Przybek to replace him.

I guess the fact we added Jokull Andresson on loan to fill in for Ashby-Hammond rather than give Chapman a chance was the driving force behind his departure. Chapman was one of our first summer signings and had seemingly been signed as a number one only for us to add TAH later in the summer. Good Luck to him at Scunthorpe, hopefully he gets his shot at first team football.

Chapman was very decent for us in L1 last season, I was a little surprised he followed Evans to yours in preseason.

Yeah I can recall yourself and some other Gills fans being a little perplexed by his decision to join us after he only really established himself with you guys after Evans had left. I doubt he'd have done so if he knew how it'd have turned out - even if he was aware of the prospect of being a back up, with the odd cup appearance thrown in, it must have been a bit of a shitter for him to see us move for a replacement goalkeeper rather than give him the opportunity to fill in whilst Ashby-Hammond is out.

Harry Smith signed for Barnet on loan until the end of the season - good signing for them, scored tonight as well.
