Yeah not losing any sleep over Crocombe, solid enough but nothing spectacular, replaceable, only problem is Hurst hates two keepers so any hope of having two that challenge each other to make them better is certainly gone now.

Also heard as expected the Bennett deal is dead again.

And us apparently, although not seen anything hugely reliable yet.

We’ve got quality in midfield but no obvious box-to-box energy merchant, so sounds like it’d make some sense.

Really? Wow he would be quite a trade down from your previous signing of Mcgoldrick.

I thought you lot were putting a Championship level team together.

Sadly only one of the League One team of the season is a boyhood Notts fan. :(

We are being linked with Ryan Stirk he has been released by Birmingham and has spent time on loan at Bromley and Mansfield.

Heard anything at your end about another boyhood Notts fan James Belshaw signing for you?

Nothing from anyone reliable, but his name is always mentioned for that exact reason.

He is a proper Notts fan mind (without wanting to do Didzy’s credentials down!), his family goes home and away as far as I know, season ticket holder growing up sort of stuff. We should’ve signed him when we went down and he was at Harrogate with a rep as one of the best ‘keepers in non-league.

I think his Mrs still lives up there and he commutes. Probably made harder now by the baby they had recently.
Rumours that house prices are a problem down here too so that just adds to it.
He was our best player when we got promoted from L2 - Great shot stopper at close range and very comfortable on the ball acting as an unofficial sweeper.
He does get beat from long range a lot though and his tendency to come out of his box quickly does occasionally leave him caught out

We’re definitely in for a ‘keeper so I’d say it’s entirely possible if he’s looking to move on and you’re happy to let him go.

We brought in a keeper on loan in January and had a clause where he had to play the first 3 games so Belshaw was dropped.
Was rumours of a bust up with Barton but things seemed to sort themselves out, although i wouldnt be surprised if he left this summer

Cameron Norman leaving Newport - been linked with a join up with Flynn. Seems decent.

I liked him when he was with us. Started out a bit weak but grew into the season, can find a pass and will put himself around. Solid League 2 signing with potential to go further up the leagues.

I agree with that, and with Law and Wallace leaving I’m a bit surprised we are not in for him.

I disagree. I think he will be fine at that level. Posh lucky to be signing him if it comes off
He must of improved because season before last he was shite for us on his loan from January until the end of the season. He had been at Swindon and came with good reviews but just wasn’t good enough.

Thats
Williams always comes across impressive when I’ve watched nhim, for me he’s a brilliant signing for any side.
because his best performance, and thereby the teams, came in the 5-2 away victory against yourselves. I haven't shed any tears over him leaving to be honest

Popular guy was 'Joniesta'. When on form he was superb. Always busy and is clearly a classy performer at this level. Infuriated me at times with the amount of times he spends looking for free kicks and gesturing towards referees. Very quietly spoken and genuine nice guy. I suspect Bradford fans will love him.
"and is clearly a classy performer at this level." That is just not true. He very rarely showed any class on the field and failed to take the majority of games by the scruff of the neck. Something I would have expected for a "classy performer"

He spent the entireity of our play off semi final on his arse, so although he looks the part at times, he wastes so much time on his backside that you can't be sure how good he is.

Came across as an arrogant so and so, where him and McKirdy thought the tie was over after the first leg. One of our players actually pinned the interviews with Williams and McKirdy to the wall of the dressing room before the second leg.....did our team talk for us.

Williams scored more goals for you last season than our midfield players combined, that will do for me

Our most ITK posters reckons you've offered Crocombe a deal.

Slocombe and Crocombe be far too confusing.

Entirely possible, think we’re on the lookout for someone solid and experienced for a year or two to compete for the number one spot with Slocombe. We’ve got a very highly-rated young ‘keeper in Tiernan Brooks but consensus seems to be he’s not quite ready yet and will go out on loan for the year again, so we’ll be after someone who can do a solid job for a season or two without blocking his long-term progress.

Talking of keeper’s apparently Arnold coming our way from Southend. Probably the lowest priority of our current resourcing shortfalls so not one to get too excited about! Spent a fair bit of last season injured by the looks of it. Southend unable to offer contract at the moment.

Always looked a pretty solid keeper in the NL.

Someone on Exeweb reckons Caldwell has spoken to Cameron Norman. May well be bollocks, but who knows.

Is he more of an orthodox RB or can he play RWB? We’ll need someone to replace Josh Key in that position.

Can see us announcing Dan Agyei alongside Jonny Williams.

Ex City associate director reckons Williams could be on his way to Gillingham. Sounds like this spoke may be the reason he didn't sign last Friday with us as expected?

Think he’s in Spain and not that ITK anymore tbh, think he was just giving his perspective as a fan. Can’t imagine the club would be happy with Parker constantly putting articles about it out unless it was a done deal, it wouldn’t make the club look good and he’s a club yes man.

Smallwood was known about weeks before it was officially announced, it’s not uncommon with holidays etc this time of year. The signing last Friday was most likely Critchlow who probably had his head turned by posh.

Let's hope so. I would be really happy with Williams and hopefully Agyei
