I know nothing about Smith, but at 24 years old, 128 games and 27 goals majority at L1/Champ level he is probably about as good as we'll get given Cook is the main man and any striker signing will play second fiddle like Oliver last year.

Sounds like Aaron Nemane is signing a new deal with us, had assumed he was off to a higher level with how long it’s taken.

Proper winger at wing back. We are going to be ridiculous entertainment next season, as it stands we should score and concede by the bucketload.

Well if Smith signs and with our abundance of CBs, I think we'll be copying every man and his dog by playing 5-3-2. Joy

Get me a RCB and a proper defensive midfield option and I'm happy. We'll probably roll with Bajrami as the DM option though.

After the upcoming announcement of Shilow Tracey tomorrow, looks like we've agreed a deal with Crawley for Jack Powell, their player of the season last year, to move to us and that should be announced in the next couple of days.

Also closing in on signing Kazeem Olaigbe on loan from Southampton. Was on loan at Harrogate I believe last season.

Powell will be one of our two marquee signings this Summer with an experienced centre half being the next. Charlie Raglan is a name I've heard and he's a local-ish lad so I could see us being in for him and I wouldn't mind a signing of his calibre at all. He's a leader and if he can improve Offord, O'Riordan and Williams then we'll be in for a good season.

Get those in and we'll be a couple of loan signings away (1 RB, 1 CAM) from being good to go.
This is from the Crawley town Twitter, and (I'm pretty certain) that's Powell in between Kellan Gordon and Dom Telford this morning.

Tyler Smith played for us on loan in the national league in 2018 (10 goals in 23 games) - he's not a target man type centre forward - he'd play well off Andy Cook though

It is indeed. Expectation our end is that he's joining us irrespective of him training for Crawley today.
He's in contract and I can't see Crawley letting there player of the season go for peanuts, and we've only got peanuts. Obviously there is a chance but id say this one is the most unlikely of rumoured signings.

We got our player of the season Glenn Morris off them on a free (even though he was their player of the season) and our top scorer Tom Nichols for £60k, crazy decisions being made there.

More crazy is they paid us actual pound sterling for Kellan Gordon, that along with Hawkins and Lapslie we brought in serious money for three players nearly out of contract in January.

Kellan Gordon, Kyron Gordon, does anyone have Kevin Gordon for a full house?

Crawley need to cut the wage bill considerably so this isn't as unlikely as you think. I thought we were after Hessenthaler when it was first mentioned but I've been assured it's definitely Powell. I can imagine it being a free transfer too.

A lot of our high earners have departed and we've plenty of room in the budget to pull off a signing like this. We're probably offering him a longer term deal and a rise on his current contract.

Weve had form for doing this before. When Westley took over Stevenage, he gave us Anthony Grant for free as he wanted his own players in.

He’d be decent in L2. Had him a couple of seasons back - the Sheridactyl year. Probably improved since then, too.

What's he like, Dan? Please tell me he has some pace. Desperately needed.

The first signing of the season where the reviews don’t seem particularly kind

He was woeful when we had him on loan a few years ago. That was a few years ago of course, but in the meantime I don't remember ever reading anything much that made it sound like he had exactly kicked on. Surprised he's played as many games in League One as he has.

You won’t find many positive reviews of Abo Eisa.
Not sure ‘he was injured for us’ is exactly a review I’m likely to take forward when considering a players footballing abilities. I’ll keep it in mind though.

Stockport County.
When do we think Hurst will be gone by? The cynic in me says Christmas, but his standing with the fans and the club may give him until late February-early March.

Oh dear. I genuinely thought that he would get a Conference club at best. Terrible signing from Hursty.
On the plus side, it does allow your club to issue a press release titled 'Mariners Catch Pyke' so, all things considered, worth it.

Aha it doesn’t bother me that Grimsby have signed him. I’m just thankful that I don’t have to watch him after putting up with him for 3 years at Salop. Genuinely have no idea how he’s a professional footballer.
