I might be wrong but there seems to be very little thought process behind the majority of Wrexhams signings

Don't understand your reasoning here. Hoskins has just had an outstanding season and would have walked into any team in the division. He deserves his shot in div 1 and unless the pay packet is massively different, should go for it.

Would not surprise me if Wrexham plan on spending championship wages for players over 30 at L2 level either.

Our signings? Which signings over the last two seasons don't make sense? In over thirty years of following Wrexham Parkinsons signings are the most thought out of any manager we've had I that time.

No-one knows if the rumoured players are actually players we are after.

Aaron Lewis signed for us then. What’s he like Newport fans? Can’t be arsed to search back

The Waters one was a weird one - someone from Wrexham seemed to go down a list of clubs asking if they had a striker to sell, and we were the first that were prepared to part with one.

No chance of us signing Grimsbys best player. Why would he want to move sideways to a league 2 club anyhow?

It’s not that they don’t make ‘sense’ it’s that it seems like a really basic way of signing players without a great deal of long term thinking behind it, might prove me wrong this season but a lot of it strikes me as ‘stick a pin in the top goal scorers chart and see who we can tempt in’

Harry can only dream of being known by a team like Bradford.

I’d be extremely surprised if A - he goes to league 2 & B - you have the 6 figures plus we’d ask to sell up

Happy with Aaron Lewis he’s impressed me in the past think he’s got one of those massive long throws too.

It’s a signing we got to make due to two full-backs out long term, provides Calum Johnson with competition at RB.

Someone we know claiming we’re after sweeney as well

Ryan Sweeney? He was part of one of the best defensive units for Stags in recent times although Pearce was biggest factor in that, always a tad uneasy about previous players coming back mind.

We'd clearly be better off following the more thought out Grimsby method of signing 4 random players each week for 8 weeks straight.

Clifton? Wonder if he's any good? Let's ask the resident Grimsby expert.

Oh well.

Thanks for the update.

Although, the only thing I could find on Twitter is this:

Think it’s fair to say, the player has no networking skills, which will no doubt transfer to the pitch.

Don’t want to be paying 6 fingers for someone third choice anyway, tbh.

That was a strange one. But to be fair we haven't seen him really feature yet, we needed cover for Mullin. Who are you going to get to be your fourth striker who can still do a job in L2?

I will say that for all everyone always going on about how our recruitment is strange (and we've heard it for two seasons) last year our squad was very solid and there are very few of Parkinsons signings that haven't worked and those that haven't have been stop gap transfers like Brisley and Hyde in his first season , or players who have been unlucky with injury like Bryce Hosannah.

But we haven't signed anyone yet this season so not sure which signings you are talking about.

We seem to be linked with everyone for clicks. Since this new lot took over there are very few leaks from our camp, just speculation from outside.

Imagine, actually (hopefully) have a decent defence with backup options! only took 2 years but we got there!

Looks like signing number one will be made today. So we will see which washed up ex name Dinosaur Parkinson will overspend on.

According to a podcast he did we are also looking abroad, taking advantage of the new work permit relaxation. I bet we bring in an American or Canadian.

The work permit stuff is massive for us, would be surprised if we didn’t sign at least one complete random before the end of the window.

Swindon fans we’re signing Sol Brynn on a season long loan next week, apart from the blinder he played against us at the County Ground last season, what’s the overall assessment?

He's got very similar goal contribution stats to your man Pattison over the last two seasons. Versatile, works his arse into the ground and has gone from a player who we weren't sure was going to cut it in the NL to being a very good L2 midfielder over the last two years. Reckon he'd cost at least 150k and like Lew I'd be surprised if he leaves us to go to another L2 team. The Barnsley interest is apparently genuine and is certainly the bigger threat. For all the good work he's put in over the last few seasons though, he's not irreplaceable by any stretch of the imagination. He's not a standout technically, he loses physical battles and his passing has always needed improvement. Lad's got a massive heart and bundles of energy though which goes a long way in this division. L1 will be his ceiling I think, hopefully we'll get to see that in a Town shirt.
