Alan Sheehan to Luton.
Luke Wilkinson to Stevenage.
Aled Jelly.

Very surprised we're offloading our best centre half.

Luke Guttridge signs for Dagenham. Strange one really as Still never really played him here in the last couple of seasons despite Gutts making some pointed comments about being fit to play. Also reliable rumours of him spreading disharmony behind the scenes being part of the reason Still left him out. Very odd.
Thought he would fail a medical too. Proves that medicals don't matter for some players/clubs.

He wants to be closer to home apparently so what are the other options, Hartlepool and York? Good luck to him if he wants to choose them over us and if he doesn't care about location then we've not got much chance of signing him anyway.

Closer to home? He's from Stockton. Carlisle is like less than 5 miles closer than Bradford. Is he really that desperate to chop 10 minutes off his commute?

In fact, I think he might live in Yarm which is closer to Bradford

He's injured?
Got a chronic foot problem going back to his Northampton days. Its being held together with elastic bands and sticky tape. He's one more bad injury away from retirement IMO. His latest injury prevents him playing probably more than 30 games a season - he needs to be managed.

We'd be mad to get rid of Wilkinson unless something has happened behind the scenes. He's limited, but easily our best centre half on form this season (willing to give Cuthbert some benefit of the doubt but Okuonghae and O'Brien just seem uniformly awful). Out of contract though and Jones wants the squad size drastically reduced so perhaps it's as simple as that, our hands are tied in many cases thanks to Still handing out two or three year contracts like they were going out of fashion.

Okuonghae is a horrific defender. Always thought Eastman bailed him out a lot at Col U. Wilkinson or Cuthbert, would love either of them at Orient.

Just echo the above, Magnus is properly shit. Was stunned some felt he had a good game against Cambridge, the only 2 clear cut chances they had all game where him being all wrong positionaly. Was stunned he started Jones first game to be honest so I would be pretty miffed if we let Wilko go, limited but at the very least is a threat at corners.

Most people look at a centre back and think, "oh, he gets stuck in", or "he is tall", completely ignoring anything else regarding his performance. We have Mathieu Baudry who is a top League One defender and is routinely derided by certain sections of the fanbase because his game is all about cutting out the danger before it happens rather than having to dive in because he's a step behind, like Connor Essam, a mediocre Conference player, who was loved by a section of people because "he gets stuck in". It's a ridiculous mentality and genuinely frustrates me!

Alan Sheehan is going to Luton, good signing for them, he is one I would of liked us to have signed.

We've signed some 20 year old chump on loan from QPR for a month, probably a waste of time like.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought that! He won a few headers but his positional play was like watching an under-12 defender, just goes walkabouts and gets caught ball watching constantly. Let's face it, we didn't keep a clean sheet because we defended well, we kept a clean shit because Cambridge are (or were on the day) fairly shite like us.

One of the two trustworthy Outlaws posters has pretty much stated outright that Wilkinson is gone and Sheehan is in now. Really disappointed in the Wilko decision but I guess we have to give Jones the benefit of the doubt. You do wonder how letting Wilkinson (24) go and keeping Okuonghae while signing a 29 year old fits in with the much-publicised desire to sign young players "on the way up, not on the way down" though.

Sheehan is good, but didn't seem the same player that he was two years ago when we had him on loan earlier in the season.

Apparently Wilkinson to Stevenage is a done deal. Very surprised - he's one of the last players I would've got rid. Captain material.

That would be somewhat of a coup for Sherringham and co.

If true very disappointed in both the in and the out there. Guess wanting "players on there way up" was a meaningless platitude then? Echoes of Still and wanting "young and hungry players" but we've got a team full of journeymen mercenaries reliant on a 36 year old forward!

Not even sure left back is a position that needs addressing either to be honest, let alone bringing in a likely expensive 29 year old full back.

Yeah, I was happy when we got Sheehan back but I'm not sure he had much of an impact on the defence, granted it doesn't matter if you're playing with 3 terrible players but most of the time he wasn't. He's clearly better as a full-back but even then he's not going to wow you.

Solid player though, I'd have liked him back long-term if not for the fact we're sorted at left-back and he's not really worth the wages I'm assuming he'll be getting, especially if he's used as a centre-back.

Wilkinson to Stevenage is official. No mention of a fee either.

Good signing for them. Limited but with the right partner is very solid, a real threat from set pieces too - he's in a different league to Fraser Franks, put it that way! Certainly better than the other defenders we have so very strange to see him go for nothing.

We've signed Connor Smith after he was released by Watford yesterday.

Not overly impressed with Wilkinson going to be honest. We need a clear out but he would have been one tha I wanted to keep.

Looking forward to the months ahead with Cuthbert and Magnus and the heart of the defence...

Hallam Hope will stay on loan for the rest of the season.
This will get mixed reaction from oour fans, but I think there's an excellent player in there. He just needs that run of games at this level.
