Apparently we've bid £100k for Wycombe's Aaron Pierre but it was rejected

"League One Fleetwood have today had a bid rejected for Wycombe defender Aaron Pierre. The young centre-back,22, has helped League Two Wanderers mount successive promotion bids. And he impressed recently in the FA Cup third round in their 1-1 draw with Premier League Aston Villa.MirrorSport understands a formal approach was made by Fleetwood offering around £100,000. But Wycombe are holding out for at least £350,000 for the defender, who has 18 months left on his contract. And Pierre is said to be focused on playing for Wycombe tomorrow in their replay at Villa".

Clarke insists this is just to get him game time and that he wants him back at Rovers in February ready to fight for his place. Hope that's the case because I do rate Ellis and we'll need all our strikers for the run in.

Sounds awfully familiar that ;)

Can understand him not getting infront of Taylor and Gaffney but Easter? Has he really picked up this season, as he didn't really pull up any trees in the Conference last season?

Would've loved to have Harrison here to be honest.

Easter has divided opinion really. There are those, like me, who see what he brings to the team and really rate him but there are others who think that because he hasn't got 10-15 goals yet that he isn't playing very well. I think he looks sharper this season having fully recovered from his injuries and be brings strength, intelligence and link-up play to the team. He does only have 5 goals and for a striker that clearly isn't a lot, but he hasn't started many games recently so his tally is always going to be relatively modest.

Ellis is a decent player when he's on-song and is a very good finisher. He can be petulant and lose his cool quite a lot, though, and he does think he has to do everything himself sometimes which lets him down. It's a masterstroke to send him to Hartlepool in a month where they play 7 games as he is bound to get game-time and, hopefully, score goals against some of our promotion rivals (love saying that!). In an ideal world he'll do that and come back ready to force his way into our side in time for the run-in.

Rumours of a bid from Wolves for John Akinde aren't going away so it looks like there might be some truth in it. Sky now saying it's £500k

Is he worth that?
Serious question.

Always remember wanting us to sign Akinde when he was at Ebbsfleet. I'd still have him now if he became available, but we wouldn't be able to pay half a million I'd wager.

Is this or is this not the same Bradford fans who also belittled us when the boot was on the other foot and we were in L1 and them in L2 and they wanted Tom Taiwo?

Well Bradford are now starting to look like our feeder club!

What other good players do they have who we can nab?

He's much better than Palmer to be fair.

That's not exactly a ringing endorsement. Apparently a fee of £35,000 has been agreed between us and Chesterfield for Gnanduillet. We're also allegedly after Ashley Eastham at Rochdale.

Pierre to Fleetwood would be a cracking signing for them, not seen a better centre half this season. Akinde on the otherhand, I'd be utterly shocked if he had any impact in the Championship.

What is this I've seen about Lisbie on trial for Orient this afternoon in a behind closed doors game against Southend? Just helping an old player keep fit, or something more?

Possibly something more in it. The guy is a club legend and he wants back in from what I understand. Hendon basically said if we didn't get our targets then something might happen, but what Hendon said is no longer relevant and I imagine it's down to Pressenda.

To be fair to Easter I think he only started 5 matches for us last season and went off injured in 2 of those so he didn't really have the opportunity to do well.

He's an intelligent player who works hard for the team and at this moment in time is a better more consistent option than Harrison.

That said, Harrison has the potential to be a great player, he has all the attributes. Hopefully his month away will do him good and he comes back full of confidence and ready to help fire us into the play offs or . . .

Luke Guttridge leaves by mutual consent. Always liked Guttridge and he was awesome in our conference winning season. Really classy player on the ball but who also had a bit of nastiness about him. Used to amaze me what referees would let him get away with him saying to them, at times reffed games!

Has been a few "rumours" (some people outlaws but can't remember if it was the one reliable guy or the rest of the people who post there!) here and there that he has been causing a few issues in the squad this season and hasnt really played that much.

It was one of the reliable guys who said it ("You'll never take the oak road") and I think the other reliable guy ("West Side Vinny") strongly implied the same thing later on. Not exactly a surprise I suppose considering he has left most of his previous clubs in similar circumstances by all accounts.

Shame he's apparently left under a cloud because he was absolutely brilliant two seasons ago, more important to our success even than Andre Gray was that year. The heart and soul of our Conference pissing season, goals, assists, arse-kickings for opposition, team-mates and referees alike.

Still a decent player in there for someone to take a punt on but his ongoing fitness issues may see him drop down a level again I suspect.

Also, Micky Harford is back home :ds::ds::ds:

Sounds like a glorified chief scout basically. He's always had an eye for a player though so no problem with that. Let's NJ focus on what he knows - coaching players to be better.

Not entirely sure that Harford being back is a great idea to be honest, very important that him and Jones get along and have a good relationship together, Jones has got to give the direction of what type of player he wants and Harford should be finding that player for him. No doubt that Jones probably needed someone to help him out with those things as i doubt he has the contact book available to him but a big personality and club legend like Harford i'm not so sure about.

Seen similar situations in my own work life where people have come back in advisory roles and it can end up in a power struggle if you arent too careful.

Gary Liddle not in the squad for Bradford again tonight, their fans aren't happy at all. Surely a sign that there's something more than just us wanting him in this, seems like Bradford are subtly nudging him out. He may well end up at another League 1 club if Bradford fans are right in thinking he's still a good player in their league but hopefully he ends up with us as he'd be a cracking signing.

Surely the fact this saga has been made so public will alert other clubs.

I'm hopeful but I don't expect.

Seems like location is a big factor which massively limits the options in League 2. If he gets a League 1 club then that's fair enough but if he's willing to drop down a league we're surely the main contenders to sign him in terms of budget and league position.

Just to give everyone a laugh, Derek Riordan is on trial with us. Go on, stick his name into a search engine. You can thank me later.

He was on trial with us not long back, seem to remember reports of him being a complete dickhead.
