Gillingham were one of the biggest spenders last season. Because they were shit, everyone forgets.
And they also thrashed around in the Going For It™ quicksand just like this last season too.

So now our spend includes players we didn't even sign! Of course we must've spent megabucks on Hutton if you were after him, that must be the only explanation. I don't think we need a lecture from a Stockport County direction about spending money though.
You probably do as we’ve had success from our ridiculous spending.

As always, the truth probably lays somewhere in the middle.
We must have paid decent wages to lure Lapslie and Hawkins from Mansfield, and again to Hutton to persuade him to come to us rather than Stockport.
I am sure Nevitt is on a decent wage too.
The wages are unlikely to be anywhere near what some on here are suggesting though.
We missed out on a couple of targets because we were outbid.
We are offloading Lapslie, Hawkins and Malone, so that is freeing up a lot room wages wise.
Personally, after 20 years of shopping at Poundland, I am delighted that we are now competing for decent players.
Enjoy the rise chaps and roll on the new season!
I’m not sure you’ll be freeing up as much as you think. I should imagine they will want some extra money thrown there way to leave as no club is matching the contracts you’ve given them.

Definition of a confidence player. Chips in with the odd goal but he is very prone to mistakes. I thought he'd end up back in the National League to be honest.

Chris Long has signed a one year deal to stay with us. Aside from his shocking dive at Wembley, I can't wait to see him start 6 times and then spend the rest of the season out injured.

Managed to shift Timi Odusina out to Woking on a perm - nominal undisclosed fee.

Queue our lot on socials claiming, “he never got a chance”. If you honestly believe one poor game against Stockport 2 seasons ago froze him out, you’re thick as shit!

Very poor trainer, by all accounts.

Stockport County.
Myles Hippolyte to us from Stockport on a two year deal.
I liked Hippolyte. Versatile player, good energy, threatening. Maybe like to see a few more goals and assists and he had a very injury hit campaign last year but think he'll do well for Wimbledon. Can play pretty much anywhere in midfield bar defensive midfield and also as a LWB if you're playing a 3 at the back. Good luck to him.

Decent signing for Wimbledon but probably a few question marks over him given he has had surgery on both knees in the last 12-18 months. Deserves another go at league 2 rather than going straight into the National League.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Apparently Carlisle were also in for him but we blew them out of the water with our offer.

Do not worry, Carlisle are that monopoly player who has the cash but never buys anything as they are waiting to land on Mayfair and park lane………and of course never ever ends up landing on them spots!

We tried to tempt him away.
Should have upped our £20k a week offer.
Hearing we offered him 25k a week an apartment overlooking the Medway and a free year pass to the Ice Bowl.

Couldn’t compete. Donny definitely going for it then.

Really? Where have you seen/heard this?

That would seem like a good, sensible signing in the face of it. We'd have a million midfielders mind.

Could be, he's turned down a contract offer and already said his goodbyes.

Plus someone who is close to him has said he doesn't want to move far, I assumed it might be Donny but ...................................!
