I will drive Vadaine Oliver down to Wiltshire myself if you would take him.
If he goes anywhere, his performances will remain the same, unless of course it's Swindon where he is likely to score 15 by Christmas.

As Hartlepool found out I think.
Seen a bit of Scots Champ, I'd say it's overall roughly on a par with NL although it is much more route one than what you see in modern day 5th tier. To give it's due though, proper blood and thunder competitive league much more so than SPL.

As you say we signed a load of Scots L1 and Champ players and yes NL at best for most. Lower even for the very worst of that load of signings

Don’t know if it’s a Tranmere thing or happens elsewhere, but a couple of ITKs understand we’ve signed two players who haven’t been announced yet. There’s a new kit launch soon, so perhaps one will be announced modelling it, though as neither are said to be marquee signings, would be better using a fan favourite for that. When we signed Elliott Nevitt from Rylands, it was common knowledge weeks before the official announcement.

I'm in a minority of Crewe fans(maybe a minority of 1) that doesn't rate him at all. He works hard at times and can be a pest on his day, but he's far more likely to get a stupid yellow card that actually contribute with a goal. Glad he's someone else's problem next season.
That's not what we say here - he's supposed to be a player you thought would be destined for a higher league and the only reason we've got him is that we've tripled his wages.

I think he's poor as well. Poor to the point where Ainley probably had more end product than him.

13 yellow cards is a real lack of discipline at this level. I think a lot of fans let that Derby performance go to their heads.

Really didn't want him back and delighted we're not getting him back. I think Gills have signed a dud and will be loaning him out to non league come January.
I think there is a player there, even though he never found consistentcy with us, and I hope he does well. Having said that, I'm glad we didn't go in for him this summer and I think we can do better.

The interesting thing with Rowe is he's been around a fair while longer than most people actually realise. It's starting to get to the stage where if it doesn't happen for him in this spell with Gillingham then it probably won't ever happen for him.

I wish him well too as he's a good lad. But I can't help but think that his contribution to our positive season last year has been embellished a bit. When you look back at our season as a whole, he was nothing more than an occasional contributor at best and I would go so far as to say he was ineffective 80% of the time.

I'm pretty sure we can and will do better. But it'll certainly be a position we look to improve upon in the loan market again that's for sure.

Stockport County.
He was on loan to us for the last 6 months of the 22/23 season. He'll be a tough quiz question in a few years as it was a very forgettable "contribution".

Is Rowe that one who dived in the play off final?

We are slowly changing the culture at Grimsby, we used to select players to sign who were injury prone , that and their life style of Birds and Booze with Fish & Chips, a kind of 'Last Chance Saloon' for most of them, most didn't take that chance and we struggled to field a decent team.

Long contracts and job security seem to be our new owners philosophy when it comes to signing players (and staff), with a 'better your self' attitude towards allowing people to move on if it's in their interest. It's an interesting concept and we'll see if it works soon enough.
That certainly is the ethos BUT they are really struggling to get their targets across the line. Budget has been significantly reduced in the name of sustainability, which I understand, but think GTFC are going to struggle in the lower reaches again

Is there any possibility you could name this "other" forum you always quote because it isn't The Paddock and nobody i know can find any other Tranmere ones.

Do all of your pals support another team?

There are 3 Rovers forums I'm aware of, White Review, where I normally post, Total Tranmere with the Paddock boards you mention and The Cowsheds. Unlike the first two, which anyone can view, you have to register in order to access the boards, but there do appear to be more posters with inside information on there.

We're supposedly close to signing Kenton Richardson a defender from Gateshead.

Anyone know what he's like?

Your sources may well be right here Carver.

I’ve heard the same thing, set to sign in the coming week.

I wouldn’t say our signings and the players we’re linked with scream “going for promotion”, but hopefully they’ll be solid signings that can change the losing culture and stop the rot.

The only one that appears on google is just for womens football. Twitter is also crap.

If you're not registered, you just get the Women's Football page showing, that's what shows for me when not logged in. If you register then can access the full site through google.

I've heard that he's another athletic player who is tidy on the ball, so if true then sounds like we are going for players who may be suitable in the league above too as last season we were so out paced in L1 and the athletism of other teams bothered us.

I sure hope so, and those attributes are indeed what we desperately need, but we’ve got to remember both Richardson and Harper are unproven at League 2 level let alone League 1. Both young enough to develop but let’s see if they can cut it at this level first.

I’d like to see us bring in some real proven quality. But we’ll see. I won’t hold my breath.

I'm sure we'll make at least one marquee signing this summer, but I'll still be more than happy if we sign plenty of solid players who will improve us such as the ones who we've been linked with.

But what a positive difference it makes having a bit of money and ambitious owners compared to what it was like this time last year and before then.

Seen a few saying this about the budget, is it actual based on anything or is it just people putting two and two together?

We usually have a couple more in by now and I wonder if we're struggling to hold to our spending envelope. With the new Sky deal there's perhaps some agents trying to inflate the market plus we've paid out a lot of money on a new pitch and drainage and buying a factory unit next to the ground and turning it into a fan zone.
We definitely need three or four but it's very quiet on the rumour front.

Based on fact. Owners said publicly budget lower. Last year it was around 10th highest so significantly under performed

Things have got worse since, as the Prem league delaying moneys filtering down as they worry that the fall out from Man City case will reduce their liquidity. Those clubs who have budgeted for this money will be in trouble if/when it doesn’t arrive
