Again hopefully he’ll be a good signing for us and an improvement on last seasons dross.

However with the calibre of our signings, it’s becoming clear that we aren’t the promotion chasing splash the cash powerhouse that Carver has claimed we’d be.

Expectations from fans should be more realistic.

He's played in our midfield for four years and has been outstanding for us helping us to two promotions and two near misses in those 4 years.

Hardworking, proper professional, does the dirty work to the extent that he was always missed when he couldn't play. He's not the best on the ball which is why we made the call on him with his contract up and at nearly 30, we probably doubted his ability in League One which I think is probably fair.

Won't be any of our fans who don't have a good word to say for Croasdale, hope he does well for Port Vale.

Francis was a decent if lightweight player who never got a run of games for us because we always had better available, especially in our promotion season. Apparently was very good for Gateshead last season but I’d be surprised if he did anything in league 1.

Bit disappointed about Terrell Thomas and Croasdale going elsewhere, I thought one or both might be coming to Notts.

Should complete our midfield then as we could do with someone like that, we have attacking midfielders in Chislett and Garrity and one holding in Ojo so if he can play next to Ojo then it would give us more depth there.

Midfield at present looks very strong but yet to sort the main issues out. Promising by the sounds of it in terms of this signing.

Not good enough for this level imo. Great left foot and range of passing (you can see why he was a highly rated premier league academy prospect) but he’s just so lacking physically as a central midfielder, has no pace or strength. He got immediately displaced when we signed John Bostock in NL who was just a much better version of him.

Tidy footballer but very lightweight when he was with us. Ball playing holding midfielder was his favoured position but he did a lot of short sideways passes and at times I thought he was hiding a bit as he was short on confidence.
Seems to have improved for the move to Gateshead. He was a YT player at Man City when we signed him.

Sounds like what we need to be honest. We've got decent options in attacking midfield. It's the steel and grit we were severely lacking last season once Ollie Arblaster went back to Sheffield United
