Fleetwood are apparently set to sign Elliot Bonds from us.

Strange move this from all sides. He's a decent young player so will cost Fleetwood a bit of wedge. Wage aside, it's likely a sideways move for the lad. And we'll be getting rid of a player who's been at the club for much of the last 4 years.

I think I speak for all of league 2 when I say we’ll-cheer that move if it happens as it gets rid of a really good player from this league.

Checks all the Wrexham recruitment boxes:

• 30 years old and over
• Striker
• Heard of by every single supporter of a L1/L2 club
• Under contract
• Resale value of a turnip

Stockport County.
Parkinson would possibly want him because he linked up with Mullin at Cambridge and suits their style of play. Good target man at L2 level, wouldn't go overboard. Do a job in League One but I'd be surprised if Wrexham aren't after better with their financial capabilities.

Leaves us with a big gap to fill. Got us out of a few holes last year with his goals and assists. The only positive is that he has gone early in the window, so there are no excuses for not having the time to find an equally as good or better replacement. Last thing we need is another player to develop. We have enough of those already good luck in League one Hutch.

It's an odd one but I can believe there may be truth in it. I think we were interested in him before.

If it is true it sounds like some of our more ambitious targets have fallen through.

Rod McDonald from Harrogate for an undisclosed (and surely a nominal) fee.

The weird brothers and their algorithm works in mysterious ways.

I heard they put defenders into the search bar a year or so ago and it's still buffering so they've just signed a few that they've heard of in the meantime.

Certainly not looking good if you were part of last season's defence and you are still at the club. They've done what I wanted just one more please.

Crewe, Carlisle and Wimbledon should do the job that Harrogate can't.

I know nothing about him but 32 years old, 6'3" lots of league experience tells me enough. We were far too small last season hence the 321 short corners, and 11 long corners taken last season.

Another defender. We might actually be less of a vibes team this year and be getting serious

On the other hand, Maynard said in that one interview this summer so far that he wants the centre backs to be overlapping, so get ready for Rod McDonald step overs on the edge of your box, League Two.

We seem to have just concluded that all we were missing last year was 'some competent League Two defenders'. Not sure we're wrong tbh.

Quoted on signing saying "he's lovin' it".

We're collecting North East players if he fancies another jaunt in the Conny!

All hearsay, but have heard/read that Cameron is keen to return to the NE for family reasons. Which probably explains us changing captain and signing every left-footed defender in the league. Would have to take a pay cut, but not unthinkable at all I don't think if he's serious, there's not many other realistic options. Maybe Harrogate.

I didn’t rate Rod McDonald at all. He was heavy, slow and clumsy.

If he’s got himself in better shape since then you might see a better version. If you get the “Concrete Rod” that we had I wouldn’t be expecting much.

Seems like he’s very hit and miss, Harrogate fans appear gutted and Coventry/Crewe seem to rate him highly, but others less so. It’s a bit of a weird signing away from our usual.

Our signing of Jamie Knight-Lebel is an odd one. We've added a young inexperienced CB to a defensive group which currently has 1 player above the age of 24 in it. To go alongside our other inexperienced CBs in Williams, Billington and Robinson.

We're one Demetriou injury away from being in big trouble, so I hope a more experienced CB is still on the shopping list.

Be interesting to see if we do add Ethan Robson and Jack Lankester as rumoured. Would still leave us short a GK, LB, LW and striker.

If Donny don’t go up then it’s a complete failure.
They've made some good signings I reckon...but Sharp has been purely brought in because of his name. He looked way over the hill for Hull last season and another year on will not have made him any better. He'll be on a decent wedge still too...seems a bit of a frivolous spend to me.

Anthony Glennon signs for Newport. Do Newport play wing backs? He'd suit a 532 better than a flat back four in my opinion. Quality delivery for this level though and technically way better than 95% of full backs at this level, just not quite there in terms of physical attributes.

Notts change of strategy signing old men now? And actually paying a transfer fee too!!

We’ve always signed a few old men but it’s usually a McGoldrick or Bostock who can bring some extra quality and is a nice circumstance signing, not a big League Two lump.

With this lot and Jatta we’ve quite quickly gone from the smallest team in the whole EFL to land of the giants. Doubt we’ll take every corner short this season.
