love this signing though, a proper gamble, could go wrong, but the payoff could be massive too. and we've now signed 2 half decent strikers in as many weeks. it usually takes us about 6 years to sign that many.

Seems like one of the better players in the national league and another fee paid. We're clearly not looking to stop about too long but as always, throwing money at it doesn't always equal success (see Salford)

Happy with that, didn’t see it coming assumed we’d get a couple of young loans in to compliment Stockley.

Never know, Miller got loads in non league and struggled with us at this level but it’s worth one.

Assuming Dipepa stays and Loft is third choice I’d just want a nippy Josh Thomas mould loanee striker maybe to add pace and I’d say we’d be set for strikers.

I think you are making that up as Martin Allen only ever manages Barnet, 11 times so far if I remember correctly.
As some of you may know, I used to run the car park at our old ground. In between management jobs he was scouting for a club whose name I can't remember given that it was quite a few years ago. So he rocked up at the main road and gave his name. He had to think about it for a few moments before giving the name of the club.

Good signing for Vale that. Aldershot were one of the better attacking sides in the NL last year and that was mainly down to him & Stokes. Very good finisher

I like the look of Port Vales signings. Starting to look a competitive league, hard to call.
I feel quietly confident. We'd have been happy with these signings in league 1 and we're finally willing to splash out some cash. As always, it depends how it all comes together. Our defence is still ropey and we have to turn around a losing mentality first.

It's difficult to predict isn't it I had a look at all the signings today some pretty decent one's . I hope we can pull some out , as it is I'm not too confident ... lower mid table at best on current squad against what others have signed .

Defence is key now really, on paper we have solved the striker issue all be it needs to come to fruition on the pitch not paper, if we can sign a real decent centre half it would cap off a very good summer, then just add some depth.

Crucial to keep hold of Garrity and Chislett too.

Vale set to sign a few more in the coming days as well according to a source of mine. Already got an impressive squad, they've got to be early favourites alongside MK.

I’d imagine one will be a backup keeper as presently only have one in the squad and maybe a centre back. Beyond that I’m guessing any further arrivals would be a result of any impending sale of Baylee Dipepa. At the moment there is still significant deadwood in this squad and also truth be told it’s L2 and this league more than any other is usually very evenly matched which I expect will play out the same again.

Port Vale absolutely Going For It™. Anything other than autos has to be viewed as failure for them.

Aye, impressed with Vale's signings thus far. Definitely top three ambitions there.

Seems there is legs in this rumour. Mularkey wasn’t in training today and supposedly meeting with Crawley
Well looking at the training videos posted on our Twitter feed yesterday we must have signed his twin brother
Now seen that the videos were from the day before so I guess it is possible

Vale look the strongest on paper so far from the relegated teams . I think one who came down might struggle like FGR did last season you would guess at either Cheltenham or Fleetwood probably .

Yeah all joking aside you look to have done some really impressive business so far, I still check the National League section on the other forum from time to time and Tolaj is really well thought of by all of them on there, I reckon he’ll do well in League 2 for you.

I forgot about Fleetwood (because they've got no fans). Have they signed anyone? are they in financial bother since Pilley got banged up?

Wouldn't mind them falling straight through.

I don't know the ins and outs but isn't Pilley effectively running it from inside with his son as the front on the books ? whether that's right or not is another question .

Believe they transferred ownership of the club to his son so will no doubt be getting funded by Andy Pilley just not directly if that makes sense. They did show some signs of life last few months of the season in L1 but was too late for them by then so it’s not beyond the realm they are competitive at least.

It's wrong. They should be relegated.

I may have a personal issue with Fleetwood. We could have been out! after just four years! Vardy was a cheat code.

We're interested in signing Ruari Paton from Queen of the south Scottish Championship striker who is highly thought of and looks a bit like Paul Mullin.

Any Morecambe fans or others that can give us an insight on Joel Senior who we have just signed? Not heard of him myself but seems well thought of and was POTY?

looks good, we were supposedly in for him but no doubt that is done from our end now we've signed tolaj and stockley.

Think the Daily Record in Scotland had said Mansfield and Orient were looking at Paton too. Looks good from his highlight reel but then pretty much anyone does. How the Scottish Championship stacks up in comparison to L1 or L2 is harder to gauge.

He was with us season before last. Decent attacking right wing back, needs to improve defensively for League 1 imo. Not sure what system you play but he’s definitely more suited to the wing back roll than a traditional right back in a back 4.
