"Apparently nothing, nothing apparently"

People far too easily believe rumoured and quoted figures.

Someone said £700K for that Langstaff fella it's clearly double that.

It’s always in the best interests of everyone for the fee to be reported lower publicly

Be interesting to see what we do now, there’s definitely an argument to ride with what we have for now.

Proper lazy signing from us. We love revisiting old targets and we've had tabs on him for 2 years I believe. I wonder if we even watched videos of his games for you last season.

I had the benefit of having a good mate who supports MK slagging him off in our group chat weekly and I've seen all the errors. I even said in May I wouldn't be surprised if we sign him cos we love revisiting old targets and we both go after similar types of players at clubs.

Very concerned if that's the calibre of keeper the club wants to sign. Davies' mistakes last season probably cost us 10-15 points. I expect us to regress this season anyway but we'll nosedive if he maintains the hideous form he showed at MK. I dont like writing off signings but he stood out as awful from what I saw last season.
The only saving grace with this is, hopefully Booth steps up and keeps him out the team. Plus, he only played 6 games for an MK Dons team with a leaky defence. He clearly did ok for 2 spells at Gateshead and he showed enough for MK to take him on loan. And at 21, it's not uncommon for goalies to have shaky starts to their careers and then settle down.

But this just screams them going cheap with a position that is way more important than they believe it is. Just like last season, they're going with 2 inexperienced options at a position that shows needs an older head to help balance things out.

Irish papers reporting that we are about to sign a right back from Dundalk called Archie Davies.

I’ve no idea either. But refreshing to see that we’re casting our net further afield than ex Bradford City players and Crystal Palace reserves.

I don’t really understand the comfort levels people have with Scott. It’s an unfair stat for obvious reasons but he’s scored 3 goals since 1st Jan 2023.

Jatta looks the part and people are writing McGoldrick off way too quickly considering he was actually good last year but he can’t do 90 minutes a week or play every game, if it’s those two then Scott is probably going to play a lot of football, I don’t think he’s done remotely enough to justify that.

There is an argument but I wouldn't. Much easier to argue the opposite.

Jatta has shown tremendous promise but still early days. Scott is decent but no Langstaff, and missed the whole of last season. McGoldrick can definitely do a job, more than a job in the right system but he's a year older so best not as a regular starter. And Morias who doesn't really count.

I would have thought they would have agreed the same and the rumoured £1.1m fee plus add ons with a replacement identified a long time ago and bid lined up. Will be disappointed if not.

Whatever happens tonight when I get home I will be cracking open a bottle of bubbles to celebrate today's news. The wife won't understand why but will be happy.

Generally I agree with this, although I am certainly more on the side of McGoldrick not being able to be relied upon more than he's not good enough. Jatta doesn't have a great injury record either really. Scott has to prove it in this division for me, but if he's willing to press more than I remember him doing I think he's fine as another option.

I think it would be a mistake not to buy another striker if we want to challenge for promotion, but if they bring in someone else who can play number 10 instead I would understand the thinking.

Scott is third choice, he deserves a chance but I’m not convinced he’s EFL level. Jatta showed enough that he’s now number one IMO, and I’m happier with McGoldrick as a striker than the weird midfield role we shoved him into last season, he just needs to play less football so we don’t kill him.

We need to sign someone, but I’d be happy enough with a number ten/forward hybrid type than a direct replacement, it’s fair enough that goes to Jatta.

Lol I forgot about Morias. It’s Junior time, baby.

We genuinely brought him in as a number one and ended up with our number 3 being preferred over him.

Yes I heard that one a week or so ago and I really hope we get him as he's Championship quality. Won't come cheap though but will definitely be worth signing.

If you have a good mate who supports MK, you need to rethink some of your life choices.

Well, he'll be competing with Booth at the very best to start with. No way we've signed him as a number 1.

Versatile defender, can play RCB, RB and RWB. Sadly for him has never got a proper run of games in the last couple of years mainly through injury. From what I gather was pretty ordinary when he was on loan at Stockport. I liked him though and if we had kept him I wouldn’t have minded at all.

Not heard it but if its true would suggest Mullarkey is going as we are pretty stacked with defenders

Stockport County.
Cass came in to help with an injury crisis at right back. Can't say I rated him to be honest. Couldn't really tell you what his position is, looks a centre half with his build but doesn't really have the nous defensively, not really got the ability to get up and down as a modern full back either.

He scored on his debut at Blundell Park funnily enough with a good header, I thought he was pretty poor that game though, that Eisa who Grimsby didn't rate enough to want to keep gave him quite a few problems. His ability on the ball wasn't to the level of our other players IMO. Could whip the odd good ball in on the run was his main asset as a full back.

Cass in league two for us was excellent… fans loved him..

As mentioned injuries hit him in L1 and never quite stepped up. Get 21/22 Cass and he’s an excellent option.

Toulouse want Max Dean in a deal rumoured around the £1m mark
£1.7m agreed with 2 clubs in Toulouse and KAA Gent it's looking like, meaning that we'll pocket at least £850k for a player with supposedly one year left on his contract(we never announce the lengths anymore so it's mainly guesswork) after Leeds take their cut.

Excellent business.

I still think we need another RB/RWB even if Mullarkey stays as he's only really cover for there. 4 CBs and 2 full/wingback on each side is what you ideally want if you're looking at being able to play 532. However, considering Cass seems to cover exactly the same positions as Mullarkey, it does seem this is a straight swap.

Getting money for Mullarkey is good business, not somebody we’re gutted to lose and we get a fee for him.

I’ve never seen us receive and pay out so many fees in such a short space of time.

Holohan has also signed for Crawley, but obviously that doesn’t really affect us at this point. Real wtf signing though.

I know we don’t have many (if any) Morecambe fans on here, but what on earth is going on over there?

I believe they have just five players on their books at present. Talks of a takeover but current custodian is very hush-hush about the whole thing - gagging order?

Either way, it doesn’t bode well for them despite what miracles Derick Adams has managed to achieve with them in the past.

Believe we should be announcing the signing of 32 year old CB Grant Hall today. Fair bit of recent Championship experience, but has been injured as well so a bit of a risk.
