An ITK on our forum reckons Jordan Davies is on his way to Grimsby on loan. Lost his way a bit but he was brilliant a couple of years ago. Needs to go somewhere and find his mojo again.

Was very close with Pearson so could see that. Be a good move for all parties involved I think. He's got the ability and looks fitter this pre-season then before.
I know Crewe and Oldham made loan offers too with a young family it could come down to location if he doesn't fancy Grimsbyb

I would be very happy with this.

He needs to go somewhere where he feels like a valuable part of the team and regular game time. Grimsby could be a great fit, particularly with Pearson there. He presumably was in the Youth team with Doug Tharme too.

I'd be very pleased with that too. What was the deal with him last season? I'd have had him up with McAtee and Rodrigues as one of the best three players in the Conference the season we went up.

This sounds a very promising signing. Cardiff fans on social media are really talking him up.
I wouldn't pay too much mind to that. The only time that's come to fruition with us is when Sheffield United fans were talking up Arblaster...and to be fair they were right. Future England player without doubt. However, they said this about Sang and Swansea fans said the same about Josh Thomas. These lads are young and are still developing.

Not a chance he was on McAtee, Rodrigues or Sarcevic's level.

Davies spammed some goals from long throws, he's not a great player. There is a reason Wrexham replaced him straight away when they came up.

We’ve not made many signings but it feels a lot like we’ve made some decent ones, if we can end the window with Davies plus Luker and 2 forward players then all of a sudden our window looks decent, after a huge meltdown a week ago.

Nonsense. He is good in the air for a midfielder but his main threats come from free kicks and outside the box. You can see the variety in the goals he scored on here:

He was 'replaced' because he got injured, and lost his place to Elliot Lee, who was then pretty much undroppable. He's had two seasons of injury problems and hasn't managed a run of games consistently to get his form back. So the jury is still out on his ability in L2 but given how good he was in the National League, and a few flashes of the old JD last season I reckon he will. be fine at that level.

Most Wrexham fans are quite defensive over Jordan. Not only is he a local lad, and our last remaining pre takeover player but he's had a really tough coupled of years off the pitch (some of which is covered in WtW)

I can see that.

Is he better McAtee, Sarcevic or Ruben Rodrigues? No.

He was good that season. I just think Son of Cod over egged his impact. Open play he wasn't all that.

Hopefully he can do well for Grimsby mind. He's got an eye for a goal.

Is he better than McAtee Sarcevic or Ruben Rodrigues right now? no (Sarcevic maybe,. not sure how much he's dropped off from his best)

2021/22 he was arguably on a par with McAtee and Rodrigues. He was just as important to us as Mullin that season and laid on a lot of goals for him - including a fantastic assist for Mullin goal versus County. He was certainly amongst the best dozen or so players in the division that season.

He just seemed to spam goals whenever I watched him. Not a bad skill to have by any means but definitley not the calibre of a Sarcevic who made us tick that season with his vision.

I'd love to see Davies go to Grimsby and fire. A move is probably needed really, outsider looking in.

We’ve signed Nico Lawrence from Southampton on a season-long loan.

He really looked the part in the brief outings we got to see of him last season before he suffered a bad ankle injury. Really classy on the ball and looked like he'd probably be comfortable in a holding midfield role too - would have loved to see how he'd have got on over a longer spell.

Sounds like a good catch then. Unsurprised we got the nod for a talented Southampton player given our former manager is their boss.

11 very good signings now (11 must be a record for us)…

Connor Lemonheigh-Evans, Luke Offord, Laurence Maguire, Tommy Leigh, Sam Sherring, Joe Pritchard, Liam Kelly, Tom Carroll, Callum Hendry, Tom McGill, Nico Lawrence.

Always liked him and would love to see Notts sign him. Good signing for someone if he's over his injuries.

Davies has dropped off a cliff since that 21/22 season IMO, it feels like a lifetime ago.

He didn't look near the pace of L2 last season, he would come on in games and would amble around with no effort. I think he would rather a move much closer to home than Grimsby as well, would love to see him do well there but I just don't see it with him anymore.

He is a great lad but his desire for the game is not always there.

Tranmere have signed Zak Bradshaw from us on loan.

He's not actually played for us yet, we signed him on a free from Ipswich in January and went straight out on loan to the LOI. I think he's a LCB/LB but no-one will be able to tell you anything about him but getting a L2 loan is a fairly high starting point for a season long loan.
Signed mainly as left-back cover, but has height and is reasonably quick for a defender and we are short at the back due to injuries. Reports seemed encouraging about his pre-season cameo last night. Expect Zak will get game-time but mainly off the bench

1 year deal for Omari Patrick. He's looked reasonable in pre-season trials and Adkins' playing style may suit him better than recent approaches. We'll see.

Forgot about Sarcevic to be fair, I'd have him up there that seaaon in the top five with the three I've mentioned and Sbarra. Kabongoals would have been up there too if he hadn't have got injured.

Our most ITK forum transfer guru is saying we're in for Davies as well but that the deal is not near being done yet. I'm hoping his dip in form is more to do with Wrexham upgrading to a fairly ridiculous extent as opposed to his attitude or ability. I'd imagine things would have panned out differently for him had he'd have come up to League 2 with a fan owned Wrexham operating on a sensible budget.

Interesting. Was wondering where he was gonna end up. Surprised to see him on trial, because about months ago after he’d been released he did an interview saying he had 4 or 5 offers on the table including one from a L2 club. Wonder if he took so long to decide that those offers were retracted?…

Commiserations to you mate on your latest signing. He always reminds me of a fan who has won a competition to play for the team.
