Pretty much what the Vale fans have said. He’s been with us a year and I still don’t know what he is. Winger, number 10, a striker. I’ve no idea.

One day he’ll look like he can terrorise any defender in the league, but then he’ll have 5 games where you don’t even notice him on the pitch. If he can find consistency there may be a player, but he hasn’t with us and don’t think he’ll get the chance.

Is there talk of him going to you or something?

Heard his name a few times mentioned by people. Not a clue if there is anything concrete in it, will know in 24 hours I guess. We definitely need a number 10 so would potentially fit the bill.

We’ve got a couple more outgoings, Quigs being one (unlucky Forest Green) and another incoming atleast

Plenty of movement, glad we are finally thinning the squad out a bit
Nooooooo not lord quigley. Season ticket getting melted if that's true.

What's the beef with quigs?! I genuinely like him. Not as a starter but as a sub I think he's worthy of a place in the squad.

Sounds like we're working on 3 deals today. One is definitely KTS from Halifax, we've agreed an apparent £150k deal with them for him and he was in the building yesterday. No idea at the moment who the other two are.

Edit: duh, one will be Aboh that I mentioned yesterday. It must be early.

Harsh comment on Quigley that. He probably isn’t good enough for L2 that’s fair, but he did a good job for us last year in the NL as Grigg’s back up. Goes with my best wishes anyway.

Any Tranmere fans on here go to / watch their game against Everton U21s in the BSM a couple of weeks ago?

If so, how did their skipper play?… :animatedf:

Looks like Bradford are signing Cheick Diabate from us on loan. Really good, no nonsense defender. Strong and quick but sadly doesn’t have the ball playing capability to fit our style under Caldwell.

The only other concern is he does have some injury issues at times. He missed a chunk of last season with a broken foot which took ages to recover from. But assuming he’s fully fit, he’ll be a superb player at L2.

Left or right-footed?

Twats slightly tongue in cheek and he’s a really nice bloke too. Just nowhere near L2 standard

Scored some big goals for us though and I wish him well

Young midfielder from Luton's third team (on loan at Woking last season), Jayden Luker being the lads name. Apparently we've been tracking him for a while.

Season long loan.

In and out of games too much for my liking but he's good on the ball, quick feet and will probably score a few from range. He'll also probably frustrate a fair bit.

KTS, Aboh and Crowley would be an excellent deadline day.

Would like to see some outgoings too though, MacGillivray especially who's not even making the bench now.

We’ll sell Crowley if you offer whatever we’ve decided he’s worth and we manage to find a replacement we like, we’ve been pretty open about that I think, but it’s a lot that would have to happen today.

Guy on our forum has mentioned Luker a few times, in glowing terms. Think he watched him a few times for Woking.

It's been mentioned he was very impressive while at Woking and he 'stood out', no idea how difficult that would be at Woking last season, but it's tougher up here in the dizzy heights of Division 4! I only hope he adapts and plays well for us.

So pretty much every football transfer ever

Eh, not really, things get weird and rash on deadline day.

The big thing for me with Crowley is where his head’s at. I wouldn’t want him to leave obviously but he’s a bit notorious for his attitude and agent (assuming he’s still got the same one) and therefore is he’s pushing for move then he will go. We’ve probably been lucky in recent history that players we’ve kept and rejected bids for have been happy and focused (Langstaff & Rodrigues most notably) and it hasn’t caused an issue.

I do think if we were going to sell him, we’d have sold him by now but if he goes I don’t think I’d be that fussed to be honest, another decent fee for a player on an expiring contract, and for all his brilliance on the ball - he is another trademark Notts player who simply refuses to attempt to defend

Eh yeah really, I know Notts fans think they ‘do things differently’ but if a club sets a players valuation and it’s met, the bid is accepted, that’s the point of a valuation being set.

What that valuation is is a different story entirely, you might have chucked a ridiculous price on his head which won’t get met.

He also hasn’t had a meaningful impact on an away game since Salford in September 2023. 17 goals now for Notts and 16 of them at home. As a fan I just think about how much of a joy he is when he plays like he did against Grimsby last week, but when you’re trying to decide whether to sell him there’s more to think about.

You think the only factor that determines whether a player is transferred or not is that the selling clubs valuation of the player is met?
Really?

I’m talking about the bid being accepted by the selling club, not the overall transfer…

But we all know how modern football works at this point. Buying clubs are in contact with players agents, and if Crowley’s agent had signalled that he had absolutely no intention of talking to / signing for MK, do you really think MK would still be sniffing round it?
