Yea weird one but hope he does well. Smells a tiny bit of bad asset management, but I expect we'll see someone come in before cop. We’ve loaned out midfielder Tim Akinola to Dagenham on a ‘long term loan’ so either 6 months or for the whole season…
I think it’s a slightly strange one in that he only re-signed this summer, but in all honesty I never felt Cook fancied him fully the first time round that we had him so I was surprised Cook re-signed him, and now he’s been loaned out after only being back a few months.
He’s definitley more suited to a team that plays with a 3 in midfield where box-to-box midfielders are used as that’s his game to a tee, loads of energy.
Good luck to him. Be interesting to see if we bring another midfielder in but personally think we have enough cover there with Banks, Oldaker, Naylor & Jones. All depends on if Cook see’s Naylor as our CB long term or if he’s planning on moving him back into midfield..
Has there been a fan’s forum where someone says they are willing to pay over the odds for players? One of the soundbites from last night's Fans Forum was that we won;t pay over the odds for players despite the new ownership, so that would likely be a reason you won't see much movement from us for Swan and Crowley.
We have now been linked with Ken Aboh and Kane Thompson-Sommers today though, and I know nothing about them.
Ange ball to Maynard ball. Seamless
Makes me think Robertson will be out a while or we aren't 100% on our existing options. Any news on Robertson's injury?
Isn’t that the Premier League business model?Has there been a fan’s forum where someone says they are willing to pay over the odds for players?
Yeah this bit as well is the bit I was thinking about, I think it’s fair to say, they were fibbing.https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56034395
"our first objective is promotion but we're not going to spend £5m next year, dig out every journeyman from a higher league and say we'll blow everyone away"
I liked him.Carlisle/Fleetwood/Vale fans. Is Danny Butterworth absolutely pony?
Ollie Tipton was Wolves captain wasn't he?That Abbott signed on a season loan. You’d think Spurs’ under 21s captain should be good, but who knows with these loans really.
Comparison would be Matthew Craig who was with Donny last season. For me Craig is the better of the two albeit a little older and more developed. Must admit Abbott didn't stand out much to me in a couple of viewings last season but as a footballer he's tidy and will keep the ball moving - so will probably do ok in a Notts shirt. That Abbott signed on a season loan. He has the pedigree but you never quite know. Our midfield options, presuming Robertson and Palmer will be fit are looking ridiculously strong. Never known us to have the number of players to choose from in midfield, arguably seven. That Abbott signed on a season loan. Noticed that Kennedy has never put his name to one of your signings so far, he's got sloping shoulders and won't put his name to anything.

It's not just the number either. We've signed a physically bigger group of players and don't look like we're going to be bullied in there this season. And that's a huge turnaround to not very long ago.

Hinchy in particular looks like the sort of young lad we’ve signed in the past who’s been a bit powder puff but he’s surprised me with how strong he’s been in the tackle. Has put a right couple of crunchers in.It's not just the number either. We've signed a physically bigger group of players and don't look like we're going to be bullied in there this season.
In the after game presser on Saturday MK mentioned that he was a great admirer of the player and knew him personally. I'd say that makes him pretty influential in getting the player to drop into Div 4 wouldn't you?Noticed that Kennedy has never put his name to one of your signings so far, he's got sloping shoulders and won't put his name to anything.
Might be too early into the season but it'll come a point where he'll be asked about injuries and he'll say something like, "...it's not my area, I leave that up to the medical team. I stay in my lane and they tell me who's available and who isn't.".
Using Birmingham as your yard stick says it allTransfer fees haven't been excessive (generally). It's the wages where we are going hog wild.
All the transfer fees we've paid over the last four years would only add up to one Birmingham City signing.
