Don’t know where either of those rumours have come from but I’d take both Ojo and Eisa - we need a bit of ‘upside’ in the squad and wouldn’t be relying on whoever we bring in.

Ojo looks a classic one of our ‘try and sort their career out’ signings, former wonderkid most recently knocking about in Belgium.

No Kyle McAllister for Forest Green today, would assume that’s a L2 or SPL team in for him - we made offers for him and McCann in January so wouldn’t be surprised

According to Pete O’Rourke we’re trying to sign Alex Lowry from Rangers.

Matt O’Riley being sold to Brighton for circa £25m will net us a cool £3m - £4m due to the sell on clause. Not bad on top of the £1.5m we got in 2022.

Hopefully we use this cash, along with the Kuwaitis wallets to tie up the league title with 10-15 more players.

Swindon always seem to have a striker who carries them and/or just scores a shot load. Just off the top of my head I can think of: Simon Cox, Billy Paynter, Charlie Austin, Nile Ranger, Andy Williams, Nicky Ajose, Eoin Doyle, Harry McKirdy, Jake Young/Kemp.

I’m sure there’s fuck loads more. Prior to Andy Cook doing bits here, having a striker who banged goals in for fun is a rarity for us. Swindon just seem to have that knack in signing players who do it - a lot!

I can see Tshimanga doing well there.

Good luck to him. Play him and let him do his thing and he'll score shit loads, he's no good with 5-10 sub appearances here and there. Quick, low centre of gravity, strong, great finish, predatory tap in awareness, he'll also feed of long ball stuff if you need him to, what a baller
This was all true pre-injury. Not so convinced now.

In other news. Tyrer is apparently off the table for us. We need a keeper, quickly. Boot just isn't the level we need imo.

A 3 year deal(and I'm sure generous wages) for a player who is almost 30, hasn't started more than 20 games since 2019 and has a career high for goals/assists of 8. "Spend your money wisely" not being applied here is it?

Typical jealous reaction to a club who are considerably richer than you and he's far far better than anything you've got in your team.

A top end L1 player he is and with him and Wyke in our team they will absolutely blow everyone else away in this division and it's going to be nothing but 43 league wins in a row from this point onwards. :cool1:

It’s called panic buying.

I feel Carlisle this summer is a little full of it we have probably in jones and Wyke spent wages wise the highest in the league and yet it reminds me a little of Bradford couple of years ago when they dished out 2-3 expensive names and it had no balance or reason to it other than marquee.

At least it’s a midfielder I suppose we have two now from last week maybe Simpson can stop playing 8-0-2

We've been in for Jones all summer, even before he went back to Wigan. Charlie Wyke just about confirmed he was signing at one point.

It's a serious signing, the type of quality we've been crying out for. I would be more comfortable with it being a 2 year deal, but it was probably 3 years or nothing.

He was a shoe in for us last week.
Presumably the three year deal swinging it.
Thanks Carli£le

Aw diddums.

Could you little minnows not afford him?

You see this people? Evidence that L1 clubs were after him and he turned them down for us because it's a dream to play for Carlisle just like how it's a dream to play for Real Madrid.

Yeah well we are persisting with this thing called a supporters trust. You might remember that. Hope you're enjoying League Two though!

Remember that?

We're still living with our abomination of a trust.

He found his groove a bit again in the only place he's actually had a run of games since that injury. There's still a player there I think, just needs game time and starts to play himself back into form and confidence

Really don’t agree with that. I think the only reason Tyrer hasn’t come back here is because we can’t guarentee Everton that he’s going to be first choice with how well Boot is doing. Whereas Blackpool have just sold their main keeper & are able to offer him guarenteed number 1 shirt.

Boot is a good solid keeper and I’m more than happy with him, he never lets us down. Expect us to bring in a number 2 in next couple of days, Cook will have it all under control.

If thats genuinely the reason weve not taken him then we've had a mare. I doubt thats the case though. Everton probably preferred the higher league option, and its ultimately their decision.

Boot is reasonably solid but he's a downgrade from tyrer. Also thought he should have saved the goal on Saturday. Id like to think we can do better long term.

You'll be back down here soon and without investment you'll sink even lower because unless you have wealthy owners like us then there's no hope.

Well, you’ve got wealthy owners and you still got relegated.

Carlisle never seemed to try and stay up last season in that once the money came in they seemed to sign very good League players at league two level rather than League One players with this season in mind.

I always find the thing people forget is hunting for the right players takes a lot more than waving the cash.

The money arrived but your scoring network is still from the penniless days and hunting for the dregs or players who were good but maybe come cheap as failed at current club or have injury record and you hope maybe…..it just clicks this once.

Once the money arrives you can suddenly massively up your scouting network and target area, can properly look into non league or Scotland for the ‘right’ player and not the 80% of players in these markets that fail here……but that scouting takes a good season or two.

Until then heavy spending is just on big names or desperate higher level players or players who maybe had a good season elsewhere we poach off them.

It will be probably 2026 before with investment we’d have a decent scouting network targeting good players at present we still just have Greg abbott scouting Bradford 24/7
