One of the standout Non-League players after Vardy/Gray over the last few years.
No where near in the same league. He never got more than 11 goals a season in the Conference?

Fleetwood just paid an obscene amount of money for him.

Why are Plymouth building a completely new team? It's the kind of mental thing we do every year, just so we can be shut and sack 3 managers

He never played a full Conference season as far as I'm aware and wasn't used as an out and out striker either. He was flying the season he went to Fleetwood and would have easily hit around the 30 mark if he hadn't have been sold. And yeah, not in the same league as Vardy hence why I said one of the best after Vardy/Gray. Gray and Matt are closer in terms of quality than Gray and Vardy. I know you get all pissy when someone says something mean about your precious Gray, but he'll get found out next year.

Though it's not signings, it's been said by the club that Richard Tait and Toto Nsiala have rejected deals made to them. Tait is apparently leaving for Motherwell (shocker) and Toto is considering deals from other L2 clubs, which I find really disappointing.

:2thumb:

I bet you were one of the ones who used to insist Gray wasn't actually that good, would never be a Championship player and would never interest big clubs etc etc. We'll see how he gets on next year, but I'm sure if he does well you'll be as quiet as the poster I offered a bet to charity that Gray would sell for more than £250k...

For the record, Vardy is clearly the outstanding Conference player of recent times, then it's Gray, then it's Gregory. Matt probably doesn't even make the top 5 and is so far behind those three it's not even funny.

Having seen Matt at League One level, League Two must be his limit. He was a donkey.

The opposite with us, very direct and plenty of tricks but questionable end product. Surprised he hasn't kicked on more since then, would be concerned that he's now dropping to this level tbh.

Anyway, we appear to be signing Alex Rodman. Turned down a new deal at Newport.

Really disappointing that he's leaving, or really disappointing because you haven't clocked that around half the sides in League Two are a more viable option than slumming it in Cleethorpes?

Both, though he never slummed it in Cleethorpes, hence why he wants a Lancashire club, apparently.

No, I thought Gray was quality in the Conference. However, it's no great secret that he squandered a lot of chances in the Championship and wasn't as highly rated in that division as he has been at other times in his career. To highlight another part of that sentence that appears to have been misunderstood by a different Luton, I said one of the stand out players afters Vardy/Gray. Gregory wasn't/isn't streets ahead of Matt.

Scrap that, he's having medical at Hartlepool. Even more fucked off now. Can't tell which side it's a lack of ambition from.

On my phone, so I can't be arsed to click into your profile to see who you support but it's probably some little club down south how manage to punch above their weight in the market due to location? But alas, we've been in this depressing shitpit of a division before so we know the deal with regards to North East Lincs not being a great draw.

Fairly accurate tbh.

Thought Rodman had a good game at ours last season. Can't say I know a thing else about him. Which manager is he hoping to play under in October?

Just the man to provide ammunition for the division's elite striker Jon Stead. We're still missing 2 centre backs, left back, 2 central midfielders, another winger and 2 strikers but dare I say it - we are starting to look nigh on unstoppable.

I'm really not bothered about Nsiala leaving as we have Pearson to step in who i think is a better player anyway, i'm much more disappointed about Tait who was superb last season and will be missed.

We're going to make more than £250,000 this season from Andre Gray... and next. So we're still laughing to the bank. £2.2m and counting.

County have signed Goalkeeper James Bitner from Plymouth and Winger Jennison Myrie-Williams from Sligo Rovers.

Nsiala is mentally weak and error prone. No big loss - he's demonstrated a total lack of ambition with this move.

Yeah squandered so many chances leading to 43 goals in 2 seasons at Brentford and Burnley and named the Football League player of the season least year.

I was shocked they got rid of him. Supposedly faded badly last year, but got a lot of quality. Good signing that.

We had Donaldson on trial a few years ago and he wasn't good enough. Although were league one at the time.

We also had him on trial in League 1 and didnt sign him. It sometimes feels like us and Carlisle are the same club

Will shine if you draw Man Ure or similar in the cup. Comfortable in the Conference. Not so much injury prone as never recovered from being played when injured at the end of our first season. Hope he makes a success of the move but don't think it'll happen.

Another Wembley Hero but don't expect him to make a tackle.

Donaldson took one of, if not the, worst free kick I have ever seen. Set himself up like he was Ronaldo and proceeded to cleared the Kenilworth End with it, which if you know the Kenny is no mean feat, especially as he was only about 25 yards from goal!

Having said that, he always seemed to play well against us, scored a cracking goal to set up Cambridges tie with Man Utd.
