Max Crocombe is my number 2 keeper for Sampdoria on FIFA 16. Sign him up.

Signed Scott Vernon on a 2 year deal.

2 years for a 32 year old with a poor goalscoring record but couldn't give Amond a 2 year deal?

No sure how he'll do or what his role we'll be, guess it'll be more obvious once a 4th striker comes on board.

Newport certainly look like a team of lge2/ conf cast offs on paper, but it sounds like they are impressing the fans

Every time I see a Newport fan post on here this summer I get a mental image of Comical Ali. They do seem to be relentlessly optimistic for no apparent reason whatsoever.

I see Michael Raynes wasn't in Carlisle squad today?

We was going to play Reece Brown again today, but he came down with a sickness bug.

Could be something in it, but several players weren't in the squad today including Brisley, Atkinson, and Jabo.

Would have been nice if for his first game for us as an official player they could actually get his name right on the teamsheet...:

The talk today was that Orient have been in contact about his availability and Raynes is going to consider it once all this birth shit is out the way.

Thank you for the reviews on Mark Beck, lads. He doesn't seem to have set the world alight but we'll see how he gets on.

I'm just pleased to be posting in the FL/Conference Forums when looking for an opinion on a new signing. It's been a long time since I've been able to do that, most signings previous have only played in front of one man and his dog!

His record isn't that poor. Didn't score many last season, but come on...you saw that Shrewsbury side at BP, right? If that was the kind of service he was getting I'm not surprised he only managed a paltry return. Over a third of his appearances at Shrewsbury were from the bench. Similar at the likes of Blackpool and Oldham too. If you look at his record on Soccerbase instead of Wikipedia, it reads a lot better. Not prolific at SPL level, but still managed to find the net a bit. It's that period where he is at Northampton, Gillingham, etc. that's most concerning. Worth noting that we could have, and probably did, say the same kind of things about Amond when he signed. The only time I have seen Vernon he scored a hattrick past us one time when Oldham hammered us. As with any signing, I'll reserve judgement until he's played a few times for us. I asked a mate who supports Blackpool about him and he said this (on Facebook so excuse the lack of punctuation)...

"yeah he was fairly prolific for us in the season we got promoted from league one and i think he did well for aberdeen after us

but fans (including myself) never really warmed to him just because he was one of them who didn't really do much but seemed to score

you know when you've got a striker in the team coz the regular striker is injured, and then the first choice gets fit again but the second choice keeps scoring and everyones just waiting for him to stop so you finally have a reason to drop him

he had a decent goal scoring season in our league 1 promotion campaign but im not really sure how he did it

he is a good finisher

we had better choices at the time and he got released before the first championship season i think

might have had a few months in the championship, can't remember

he's had a decent career though i think hasnt he? im gonna look now

yeah kinda average career really, probably just did the same thing at every club that i just mentioned he did for us

can't knock his finishing though

but can't really remember too many decisive goals for us"

Almost forgot about you Kenny

Posts showing, goals per second, assists per pass made, and inches ran per minute, with posts on number of players in the squad divided by development players under 30 that don't come into the playing budget....

Welcome back to the wonderful world of Kenny End, Grimsby fans, it's gonna be a hoot.
Especially looking forward to the Luton stat reels.

STOP!! LUTON TIME.
8 games undefeated.
3 away wins on the bounce.
3 assists in the last 5 for Lawless.
Andre Gray has now had extra carrots with his roast for 4 successive Sundays.

I've missed you Grimsby fans - remember, Liam Hearn was always the better player!

Pau Bignot has somehow blagged a 1-year deal at Newport. Was shite in the conference so God knows how he'll cope in this league.

Other than some unfinished business I have no idea haha, we did need defensive cover mind.....

With that said, we've somehow got a link in with Eddie Howe & Bournemouth so no idea who'll come in on loan.

So, 6 days before the start of the new season, what has happened to Reuben Reid? Is he on trial somewhere?

Don't sign anyone from Forest Green then as it will be like that again.

could be a massive player in more ways than one if he was motivated. movement is superb for someone towing a load of extra weight and putting in little effort.

I'd be surprised if anyone higher than mid table league 2 took a punt on Reubs now. It is a physical league and although he's clearly a physical bloke, he is crocked. It's a shame because when he's firing it's superb to watch.

Wycombe have signed 22 year old ex Salzburg defender Max Muller on a short term contract. He was injured in a pre-season friendly but Ainsworth liked what he saw and signed him up.

Correct, as the emergency loan system has been shit canned, which means clubs require larger squads, with many players who will only be there to cover for injuries and even then more than likely end up on the bench.
The NL have gone the other way to help and scrapped transfer windows!

Jake Gray of Palace has just started following Luton on twitter. Widely mooted that he was the last signing that Jones has been trying to bring in, so looks to be the case. Suggestions have been it will be on a permanent deal.

Can't say I know much about him. Hartlepool fans?

After seeing Michael Raynes close up playing for The Stags I'd like to send him my congratulations at managing to attract a female willing to allow him the leg over. Humanity might be f**ked, but in an admirable way.

He tried to pull Holly Willoughby by saying "I played for the Hartlepool team that knocked Salford out of the FA Cup, here's my number"

It didn't work.

Other than that I don't know much about him.

Jake Gray to Luton on a two year deal confirmed. Can't say I know anything about him to be honest. Has been the last one Jones had been trying to get in for the last few weeks which means our shopping is done and our squad looks a bit like this.

Goalkeepers
Christian Walton
Liam Gooch (Promoted from Youth Team)
Craig King

Defenders
Stephen O'Donnell
James Justin (Promoted from Youth Team)
Dan Potts
Alan Sheehan
Scott Cuthbert
Johnny Mullins
Frankie Musonda (Promoted from Youth Team)
Akin Famewo (Promoted from Youth Team)

Midfielders
Glen Rea
Nathan Doyle (Injured for the season)
Jonathan Smith
Olly Lee
Cameron McGeehan
Pelly Ruddock-Mpanzu
Tyreeq Bakinson (Promoted from Youth Team)
Alex Atkinson (Promoted from Youth Team)
Jake Gray
Danny Green (Injured until Christmas)

Forwards
Isaac Vassell
Zane Banton
Josh McQuoid
Jack Marriott
Danny Hylton
Craig Mackail-Smith (Injured until November-ish)
Jordan Cook

Pretty happy with it. Love the amount of youth in there. Hope they can step up.

Probably the fact that she is married won't have helped his cause.
