I'm hearing that we've FINALLY agreed a fee with Mansfield for Matt Green.

Fuck knows what they've got us to pay, probably way more than he's worth but at least it's happening now.

It's not just about Matt Green though... when Lionel Messi hears that we've signed him he'll be straight to the Barcelona president's office demanding a move be pushed through in the next hour.

Just watched some clips back of him and there's more than a hint of a less physical and slightly better passing Shaun Batt. First dribble I watch he kicks it 30 yards ahead of him to run on to and it goes out for a throw...

Also apparently a France U-22 international... I didn't know that was a thing either.

From what I can tell he played upfront for the French youth and left/ right wing and mid for Chateauroux.

Looks like we've gone from looking to sign three players, to signing no-one at all. Good job Keith Curle's no Graham Kavanagh pinning his entire season on the business he can do in this week.

Aliu Kaby Djalo signs for Crawley (I don't think that's a spillcocker error).

He has signed from PS Kemi and is a Guinea-Bissau international. He is currently on international duty in Brazaville in the DR Congo for an African Cup of Nations game.

There could be numerous spelling errors in that sentence.

I have absolutely no idea if he is any good but he is described as being strong, passes the ball well and covers the ground.

I suppose we better look up some JLo tunes for him.

Just got this from my source re the Matt Green to Carlisle deal.

The deal has hit a snag, after the fee had been agreed between the two clubs, there was just the formalities of paper work. However, the requisite paperwork was not filed before the 11pm transfer deadline, so the deal now looks unlikely to be completed.

The club are considering releasing a statement tomorrow morning with all the details, but the jist of it is that Mansfield submitted the paperwork at 11pm precisely, leaving no time for Carlisle to reciprocate. Both clubs had to sign the same documents before submitting it to the FA/EFL to complete the transfer before 11pm, but it was submitted minutes late so hasn't gone through.

Green is said to be devastated. He'd already agreed personal terms and had the photos done in the Carlisle shirt etc and had gone home for the night, he thought it was a done deal.

Poor lad, we know how much of a professional he is though, and that he'll soldier on pretending to be happy at Mansfield so convincingly you'd never know the opportunity he missed out on.

Mansfield are blaming Carlisle's fax machine.

So one was Green. Possibly the other one was Hallam Hope?

Yeah, putting the joking aside, I think the term 'unable to get them over the line' implies that Gillead wasn't one of those two as for some reason that phrase doesn't seem like one you'd use when the player went to another club, it sounds more like what you'd say if you were unable to hammer out all the details with the parent club in time. One may well have been Hallam Hope, if Bury were even looking to loan him out.

We have signed Dean Henderson, goalkeeper from Man Utd until Jan

Interesting signing, called up to England under 20 side and highly rated at Man U, can't imagine they would allow him to come here and just sit on the bench.....

He's not good enough for a league side, he was alright for us but I'm glad we didn't get him back,

re. Scott Kashket, it's no bad thing even to have a squad player - we have no strength in depth whatsoever and when you have 43-year-old managers turning out for you to play on the wing, you know your bench isn't deep enough.

If we ever get a fully fit squad though, not sure Kashket will get a sniff since we have 2 wingers out at the moment.

North is up isn't it? Unless I've been holding my maps the wrong way around all this time.

Also, how have I managed to quote HG's post before it appears in the thread?

Because you're from the future.

Weston and PCH will be out for another month at least according to Ainsworth so it's up to him to make an impression as a winger,if it doesn't work out he'll be let go in December.

James Jennings (signed in the summer from Forest Green) signed on loan at Morecambe last night.

Bit of an odd move, what with Jordan Cranston being our only other left-back, but now rumours are abounding that George McLennan may well be coming back to Cheltenham.

Kashket is a forward, not a winger.
