James Jennings (signed in the summer from Forest Green) signed on loan at Morecambe last night.

Bit of an odd move, what with Jordan Cranston being our only other left-back, but now rumours are abounding that George McLennan may well be coming back to Cheltenham.
Excuse my ignorance but where is McLennan?
He was linked with us at one stage.

Why would you let Cox go other than the £££, got to be the best midfielder in the league?

Nothing more to say on the matter.

Our idiot owner has fucked the club over, we were not complying with the FFP so I was told and Cox and Simpson have basically been up for sale, but because of their high wages (around £5k-£6k per week) nobody has been able to negotiate contracts with them.

This is why we were chasing Luke Gambin (who's signing now would've softened the blow) and signed a cheap winger/striker on a one year deal yesterday.

We didn't even get a transfer fee for Cox FFS.

Its like playing Master League on Pro Evo and you're forced to free transfer your highest earners to prevent your club from going bust.

Gutting news, one which this club could take a while to recover from. If anyone did need a win, its Francisco Becchetti on Saturday as the fans are not happy about this.

Why didn't they put him on the transfer list a month ago and tried to get some cash for him? There wouldn't have been a shortage of suitors.
Exactly. But its clear to me, we've overpsent and only realised come August - By which time most clubs have done the main bulk of their business.

Northampton apparently had an offer accepted yesterday but he couldn't agree terms on a release clause with us, due to his wages being so high.

Our local journalist has confirmed he also cannot play now till January - So EVERYONE has been stitched up here, BIG TIME.

Maybe we did. He rejected a move to Northampton last night. This one stings though, ignoring that Dean Cox was one of the best players in the league, he's been at the club seven years. Legend is a word often used lightly and banded around far too easily. In my opinion Cox fulfils the criteria of an Orient legend.

If it is a financial issue our ridiculous wages haven't hampered Becchetti so far. We hear how ambitious he is, how we want double promotion... Fuck me man. We've paid fees for Ollie Palmer and Gnanduillet for fucks sake. The amount we were offering for Gambin, including wages, probably covered what Cox would have been on for the rest of the season. FPP at this level allows an owner to shove a few quid in, it wouldn't have cost him any more to do that.

To say people are fuming is an understatement,

Colchester fans - Macauley Bonne?

Seems we're trying to get him in on a short term loan while we fix ourselves up with a permanent replacement for Jonny Margetts, who we sold to Scunthorpe yesterday.

Charlton, link back up with Russell Slade. They have a ridiculously close relationship, Charlton's in the South East, makes sense really. Perhaps a rolling contract with Eastleigh until he can move there. That's my shout.

Charlton makes sense then I guess. Why Eastleigh in particular, apart from $$$$$?

Cox lives in Hayward's Heath and he's a complete homeboy. Doubt he would ever move out of that area. Leaves Eastleigh, Dover, Dagenham, Sutton, Aldershot and Maidstone. Could always do time at Whitehawk or Eastbourne I guess. Eastleigh seem to be the most creditable based on resources. That's if he drops down into non-league, his future club may bar him, but it would be good for match fitness and seeing as he missed most of last year I'd imagine he's itching to play.

I think if I were a parent club I'd want them around the reserves and firsts sam setup as often as possible to bed in quickly, but if not Eastleigh would probably be the best bet as they'd contribute the most financially. The rest would probably decide on personal preference... Not a great bunch though!

Is it only Conference or below because Leyton still hold his FL registration?

Leyton went defunct in 2011 so I highly doubt they hold his registration...

I'm unsure on what the technicalities of it are, but it's essentially to stop something like Southend thinking David Mooney, he's out of favour, Leyton Orient will take over his contract, let's release him to them. Non-league teams aren't bound by the transfer window so it isn't applicable to them.
