Based on that then we need to be in for him if we can. Clearly a south east boy, imagine we could give him a shot at the Championship which should be a decent selling point.

Little bit of news on Dean Cox

http://www.crawleynews.co.uk/ex-ley...h-or-mk-dons/story-29688480-detail/story.html

I take it to read I would prefer to play five miles from my home but Portsmouth is easy to get to as well (direct train from Haywards Heath to Fraton Park). Pay a decent wedge and I'm happy to play at either. MK Dons I doubt it.

Casey
He regularly commuted to and Leyton/Hainault from his home in Haywards Heath on the train and tube everyday.

His best mate Jimmy Smith is at Crawley and I know he has a small soft spot for them being one of his local clubs, wouldn't suprise me if he ended up at Crawley, he'd be able to stay where he is with his wife and close family.

Would be a great signing for Crawley if they pull it off.

Being able to sign players on frees as long as they were un-attached before the transfer window closed? Yes.

Nathan Tyson has been training with us according to the Plymouth Herald. 34 years old now but we do need a fourth striker, just not sure he adds anything too different compared to what someone like Asamoah brought.

Signed a contract mid-July, so a quick escape!
Initially, we thought we got £40k-£50k for him but talk seems to be we got close to, or over, six figures, which is why we're being loosely linked to Ricky Miller as his replacement.

Scunny do like to chuck around the dollar don't they? Be interested to know what kind of cash they've spent on transfers/wages over the last few years.

Curle confirmed yesterday that Tyson is training with us, he supposedly scored a decent goal in a bounce game on Monday.

He's seemingly rejected a few clubs since leaving Doncaster, but has issued a plea on social media for someone to take a punt on him. I'd take him providing he's not requesting a ridiculous wage, offers something different to our other forwards.

He's signing for an SPL side.

Location and playing every week is probably what he needs right now with his injuries, so I wouldn't always count your chickens based on £.

I imagine Tyson will go to the SPL, if he has a firm offer from there while we were just assessing him on a trial basis. But it's up to Tyson it may be that he just doesn't fancy the offer and hopes that we (or someone else) can make him a better offer.

In the meantime, we've been looking at Reuben Reid. I'd be pretty happy with that, experienced at this level and with a damn good goalscoring record. I imagine his wage demands are pretty high if he turned down at deal at Plymouth, but then he was linked with Newport the other week who must have at least felt they could meet his demands, and are pretty brassic.

I'm just not sure I can see him signing for a club in the frigid wastelands of Winterfell. I think the interest has come via Reid's agent going off what Curle has said.

Reid has failed three medicals since leaving Plymouth...
So I reid... I take it he was injured at the end of last season. Curle's statement says that we are currently doing 'background checks' whatever that means, into his fitness... I'm taking it background checks means he's reading PASOTI as we speak.

The sort of chances we've been creating and not putting away though, he wouldn't need to run around very much. Just lurk in the goalmouth and put his big toe in the way of a few crosses, and we're not really looking for a main striker as such, we already have three of those, we just kind of need extra cover up there and someone with a goalscoring touch who can nudge us in the right direction.

Reid - 25 goals in 64 games
Wyke - 19 goals in 47 games
Curle needs to bring in a clinical forward :fish:

Seriously, he was a great player a couple of seasons ago and I'd take that player right now. However, he had an injury-hit season and appears to have failed multiple medicals since leaving Plymouth. I don't think I'd take the risk personally.

Exeter fans seem to think they're signing Reid too :pmsl::pmsl::pmsl: Worried it may reveal Agent Tisdale's real identity as he splashes all their little cash on an injury prone player already having a small injury hit squad!

Personally wouldn't want him back and Adams made that clear when the contract he offered was lower than the wage he was on previously. He is crocked and will get you most 25 games a season, 15 of which he will take to get up and running. Rumours are after failing medicals he came to see if our contract offer was still on the table and he got refused..

How did he become crocked? What happened? He's only 28.

According to some of what I saw on PASOTI it was made worse by Adams playing him when he was already injured.

Incorrect, Sheridan ruined him at the end of the 14/15 season. He had a foot or thigh injury I recall and Shez put him through all sorts of injections etc to ensure he played the end of season run in to get 7th and play off semis against Wycombe. After that he was never the same.

No we don't.

From your forum:

'When we sign Reuben Reid the ticket sales will rocket. Plus he will score the winner in front of their fans. Now that would be worth seeing!'

'The ball is well and truly in Exeter's court. He wants to sign for Tis, he's fit and raring to go and wants to turn over Argyle. Seems a bit of a no brainer to me. Would increase gates, would score goals therefore would increase profit. Gotta be worth the punt using a bit of imagination on the part of the three amigos!'

I'd take Reid on a not so high wage, but that's without knowing anything about his injuries and what he'd want paying. I trust KC to weigh up his medical issues and wage with what he could potentially still bring to a team though so if we signed him I'd be happy. We definitely need a fourth striker and he wouldn't be playing every week, maybe a few months of light reintroduction to regular playing time would get him back to a good standard. Hopefully having suffered all these rejections so far he'll reluctantly be open to a shorter or a lower wage deal as well, at least until he sorts his body out.

He'd be a decent signing on a pay as you play deal, but unless that's the only offer he gets I can't see him taking it up.

Believe he failed a medical at our place this summer. That Hartley we sighned is now turning out to be quite good after a slow start and tomorrow we look forward to seeing another guy who played for you last year in Boetang. Whats he like ?

Well, the local rags both say we can afford him financially (really?) and the meeting went well and we've made an offer.

I would seriously doubt we could offer anything like the reputed 5k a week Cox was on at Orient and I would expect nothing him to get better offers elsewhere. I wait with with interest.
