We have exteneded Dean Hendersons loan from Man U till the end of the season
I heard from Pontoon rumours before the Accrington game that Wycombe had come in for him until the end of the season, maybe that's why he was given the game to see if he was worth keeping.
Happy with that.

I've heard that we're close to signing Hampton and Richmond striker Nicke Kabamba.

Been with Crawley all season. A good player but seems to run out of steam and always be carrying knocks.

Eye for a goal, fast and direct. Not a patch on Omar mind.

He's a frustrating player, he's not good enough for Mansfield that's for sure, so why Grimsby have signed him?

He's done very well to get Grimsby interested, very well, and very lucky.

If he sorts out his attitude - mainly regarding fitness, he's a good player. It's just finding that good player.

Wish him the best

Players play different for different clubs, maybe he will be good here? Besides it sounds like fitness his is problem, not ability.

Also Mansfield are supposedly aiming for play-offs or better, while we are establishing ourselves back in lge 2. Mikey Moore seems to have recommended him as well.

I think you're being harsh on yourself to suggest you should be aiming lower than ourselves buddy.

I'm surprised but pleased for him, I genuinely hope he sorts it out. Would be a shame if in the summer you farm him out on loan or something.

If there's something the manager can see that us or Crawley couldn't then fab.

Official new from Andy Edwards - Jay Simpson has handed in a transfer request and is on the transfer list.

Unofficially - I've heard Luton have made an enquiry.

Surely Simpson will move up a league?

Id have thought that might upset our balance up front with two similar lead the line type strikers and surely Hylton wont be edged out. Where we need to spend the money Simpson would command is in a top top (for this League) creative midfielder it seems

We couldn't afford his wages I wouldn't think. I could see us being in the market for a new striker though, CMS and McQuoid both seem to have their days numbered here and Banton not fancied. Goals not flowing for Marriott, Vassell or Cook and Hylton likely to miss another 5 games through suspension this season.

Centre mid should 100% be the priority though.

I would expect him to move up a level, but he is very settled in the South and beggers can't be choosers. The penny has probably dropped that he won't get the money he is on here anywhere else for various reasons. We shall see.

Only heard that Luton have enquired though. But don't be suprised if Southend come back in for him and he goes there.

Another signing! Jesus. Akinola from Braintree. He's been linked to us a lot in he last few season, buzzing about this. He's a good player.

You bastards.

We've been trying to sign him since the summer. Although he's out of contract at the end of the season, £40k will end up being good business I think and probably not something we'd have pushed to (I'm assuming that because it sounds like we've lined up a couple of permanent deals and that and 3 fees in one transfer window would have been a bit too far for us).

Akinola should be a decent signing.

Can't believe Yussef got a football league club to offer him a 18 month contract.

He's worth a punt because he's actually talented but I thought a contract through till the summer to prove himself was the best he would get.

Adi is a good player, makes a good super sub and will score goals. However he'll be blowing out of his arse 5 after coming on.

As per above, 18 month contract??? Good luck to him though.

£40k for Sim Akinola is a fantastic piece of business.

Look, guys, he's not the end product. He's very raw and there's areas he can improve on. Saying that, he has genuine star quality about him, there's no doubt in my mind he has the potential to be an excellent player at this level, with respect surprised it's only Barnet he's ended up at. Very direct player, can take on his man and can make something happen. Problem is that there are other game where he's gone missing. Have to say I was very surprised he didn't move into the Football League in the summer. If he can find a level of consistency then that is an excellent signing. I would wager he will make Barnet a profit in transfer fees, big fan of his (seen him five times live, for the record).

Can never understand players at our level that have fitness issues. As a footballer you're living out a dream many would love to have an attempt at - failing it due to fitness is a real shame for a myriad of reasons. Also this is the last realistic league where you can earn a decent enough wage.

It's a shame it appears evans doesn't seem to want to give him a go until the end of the season to see if he can work his magic - but it looks like he's had more footballing lives than a cat to date
It shouldn't be an excuse at any level, although Steve McNulty was an exception in the league below.
