Unfortunately there is no way he is a League 1 standard player, on his day excellent but as said previous way too likely to cock up at a crucial moment.
Cut out them errors and he has a chance I guess, but he made plenty against Conference teams so in League 1 he could get seriously found out.

I do agree there.

Btw.

If you could hurry up and sell Mr Bogle before Saturday it'd be appreciated! :2thumb:

Alex McQueen has put pen to paper on a new contract, fending off interest from Man United, Chelsea, Cambridge, Bayer Leverkusen and Sporting Lisbon.

Kevin Wright has also signed a new deal

As expected, Whitehead, Arthur, Suliman and Smith have officially returned to their clubs.

Coming in, Diego De Girolamo from Bristol City and Emmanuel Onariase from Brentford. Scott Brown will be confirmed once Blackman is fit.

I read earlier that there will be a recall clause in Brown's loan in case anything happens to Blackman. As i posted earlier Brown will only be warming the bench as he's nowhere as good as Blackman who could become a very good keeper if he gets game time.

Scott Brown should be decent at this level. Should add some toughness and steel to your midfield.

Different Scott Brown, it's our old keeper.

I may be wrong, but I thought with the loan system as it is now, recall clauses were no longer allowed.

Not heard anything. He's been out injured since the end of August and had an opp late Nov/Early Dec which id of thought would have kept him out till Feb time at the earliest. He's our best centre back when he's actually fit IMO.

He just posted a pic of himself on Instagram in a Cambridge shirt saying countdown is on. A bit of an odd post.

blimey, where did you guys get this sort of cash? Do all the fans put the small coins they find on the pavement over several years in a giant piggy bank?

We've sold 3 players for a total of £80k, got a fairly sizeable compensation package for Martin Allen leaving for Eastleigh and in general are just fairly well run with a good off the field revenue stream (although this wouldn't amount to much compared to the transfer incomes).

I was fairly shocked too - £100k on a CB is unusual

I assumed you were talking about Accrington's Scott Brown (who also used to play for us).
That's what I thought too the one at Accrington that was at Grimsby last season so I googled Scott Brown Cheltenham and it brought up a keeper you're gonna sign.

Fair enough, but it is rare to see such figures at our level nowadays, and I did raise an eyebrow at 100k for a defender.

£1m bid for Cameron McGeehan from Brentford.

It's in The Sun so it must be true.

I don't think we will sell this window after Jones's comments the other day, but in all honesty I'd sell in a heartbeat if we did get a seven-figure bid. Good player who will probably be a great player but that's huge money for a guy still on the rawer end of the learning curve in several aspects of his game. His goals are priceless but you could sign four quality players for that amount (and we only need two, maybe three). I'm also wary of how quickly a player's stock can fluctuate - a few months ago we were fending off big bids from at least one Championship club for Pelly Ruddock, now he can't get in the squad after returning to his usual inconsistent self.

I suppose a big complicating factor would be Norwich's sell-on clause, allegedly it's a pretty significant one.

McGeehan stretchered off and needing a leg brace, typical!

Massive shame for the lad if he's broken his leg. You could see straight away he was a player when on loan to us and would go on to play higher.

I just hope Brentford don't switch their attentions to Berry now.

I'm sure you'll agree that the real shame in all this is that we have likely been robbed of the frankly riveting and intensely interesting "who is worth more" conversation a la Bogle/Akinde.

I really don't think you could say one is worth more than the other (before the injury). Both scoring goals for fun and a huge part of their team doing well. Clearly both too good for league two and it's only a matter of time before they move on. I just hope we rejected anything less than £2m for Berry.

15 goals from midfield by Jan is priceless in league two.

Big signing for us (Donny) getting Connor Grant back from Everton. He was very good for us last season in the few months we had him. Sounds like a deal is in place should we go up to buy him in the summer too.

Luton Town officially checking back into this thread after today.

Jonesy says he's got things in place, so something may be happening sooner rather than later.

I think we certainly need to go out and sign Simpson if we've lost McGeehan and Hylton (certainly in the short term).
