Good luck with that he's fucking useless and one player we won't miss,he runs about but loses the ball more times than not and must have a problem with his eyesight as he could rarely find another player in the light and dark blue quarters shirt.

Play nice Mr Mowgli please. A Morecambe fan finally racks up enough courage to post on here and you're telling him the man his lot have just signed up is fucking useless? :told:

Telling porkies can sometimes be acceptable when it's for the greater good (of this forum). I believe people call it 'a white lie', but that wouldn't be politically correct, so I just refer to it as 'a good lie' ;)

Stephane Zubar signs for Yeovil, didn't realise he was still going!
I thought he was still knocking around in your reserves, didn't realise he was at Weymouth last year!
We needed a experienced cb but I'm not sure if this is the right one.

We'll take any player we can get at the moment. Jimbo has a thing for getting the best out of dead rubber so I'm sure he'll do alright for us. We've had and we will have a lot worse.

Whatever happened to joe garner?
Swindon lot, it seems purkiss is getting a bit of good riddance on Twitter, but I quite liked him.
He and Byron Moore linked up very well a couple of years ago, and although he was poor last year I would've kept him.

Seems like he had a bad time of it last season but always seemed quite well regarded before that.

Can't be any worse a full back than Brad Barry or Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill anyway.

Likes a card as well Mr Lancashire.

Can't say I know a lot about any of these players, but they seem decent enough for this level, and we are certainly building from the back. We at last have some much needed experience in the side.

I don't expect them to be amazing footballers but as long as they are fit and work hard we are already ahead of the unfit shitehawks we had last season.

Of course if the defence is average and we have enough in the kitty for difference makers at the other end of the pitch we won't go far wrong. Intrigued to see what wingers we bring in and of course could do with another striker.

Yeah doesn't look a lot of goals in Norris and Mullin and we don't have much in the way of creativity aside from Goddard who I think could have a good season this season (he needs to bulk up though). I wonder if DF might try Brophy on the left wing. He has a bit of pace and can dribble (his crossing is wayward) and is still young so could be a good season for him at this level as well.

Agree. Still a long way off the finished article but like the way Flitcroft seems to be focused on sorting out our defensive issues first of all (include Dunne in that).

Think the best bet with Brophy is stick him as high up the pitch as possible and tell him to just run at teams. Not got the minerals to play LB or even LWB where he's asked to defend.

Stagotage imminent.
We wouldn't have sold Marriott if he wasn't already in the door.

Well I'd hope not.

I'm wondering now if Crawley are reneging the deal knowing the cash we got for Jack.

Cook NEVER counts... how the hell he is still here i've no idea. Compare to how players like Marriott & Gray were managed last season (a pretty short hook for both in the end for both of them) to how Cook was managed (automatic first choice regardless of his, usually non, performance) is really a massive head scratcher.

I am disappointed and a little concerned that we are getting rid of young and in my opinion ascending player, who fits the profile of player I thought the club were looking for without giving him a real fair chance and replacing him with the type of signing that we dont really have a great track record with i.e. expensive strikers!

I guess if we sign a some decent midfield players off the back of the money we have made this summer as well as Collins then it is absolutely the right move but until that point I cant say i am actually overly pleased with this summers business so far to be honest as some seem to be.

The Posh chairman says it was a "substantial fee", he very well might be playing to the gallery with that, as is his wont it seems, but looks like a big fee at the least.
£450,000

Good business imo for a max 3rd choice striker.

The Cov Telegraph are banned by the club and generally know nothing, wouldn't trust them to be right on this.

No idea but it said in our sports paper piece that Green had turned down numerous clubs to sign for us, as did Knott. Never know if any of these are actual contract offers when players say that, our just agents touting to get a bigger % out of any deal.

I wouldn't be shocked if we had been interested in Green, but I wouldn't take the Cov Telegraph reporting it as confirmation. A good signing for Lincoln in all though, wouldn't have been displeased if he had turned up here.

Not sure what point you're making (just got the point you were making! Please ignore my initial snark!) As I sort of stated in my post it depends on what we do with that money that decided if it's good business or not. If we just sign Collins and leave the midfield as is, that in my opinion its not good business and not worth giving up on a young player like him. We'll see what happens I guess.

Local press reports re Collins to Luton seem to be bad rehashes of previous stories. The Brighton Argus gets quite a few facts wrong (ie we sold Tubbs to Posh) and the Observer seems to have completely made up a press conference. Having said that I expect him to leave.

Our director of football and chief interpreter (it's where Mourinho started) tweeted 'judge us at the end of the window. Increased budgets and multiple transfers on the way'.

I expect us to be the strongest team in the league next season. Holding everyone else up.

Our media guy has tweeted saying we're hoping to announce some new signings tomorrow. He usually adds little puns ahead of transfers so is probably Hallam Hope.

If we start the season with him as our main forward, we'll seriously struggle.

Hope is an ok player. When played down the middle with another striker his game is good, especially his link up play and strength. He might not get loads of goals but others will benefit. In his last loan spell he filled in on the left a lot which didn't suit him. I think he's a player who won't get us promoted but is more than good enough to ensure we stay up, which has to be our primary objective with this depleted squad.

We'd 100% need to sign a goal scorer to play alongside him though.

Would have thought one of the South West Yeovl, FGR or Cheltenham should take a punt on Brunt.

The bloke is a class act and was really playing well prior to that injury at Barnet. I still remember the sound of him clattering into the advertising boards and all those around me breathing in sharply.
Training with us by the looks of it...

Newport have signed strikers Lamar Reynolds from Brentwood and Frank Nouble from Southend. Promising but bit of a punt.

And it's worth signing him just to wind up the Cornish.

Not sure why we need Brunt really. Should Watkins leave or even Wheeler, to replace with Brunt is a bit of a come down plus we'd be playing more direct you'd imagine.

Jesus Frank Nouble was a premier league player about 5 years ago! How far has he fallen! He was awful when on loan to us. Maybe league 2 is his level.

26 goals at non-league step 4 for Reynolds. Decent record but four divisions is a massive jump.

Yeah Brunts not really a replacement for Watkins. Still we need a new striker or something so if he's fit and looks good why not have a punt on him.
Gotta be better than Simpson.
