James Justin extends his contract to run until 2020. You'd imagine that puts paid to any suggestion of him leaving.

Bravo Nathan Jones et al.

Technically it's a four year deal as we've included an option for an extra year. Doubt it makes any difference though, he'll still probably leave next summer, this just guarantees us a monster fee. And in the meantime you'd imagine he's had a hefty pay rise to reflect his progress.

Tonge and Yates in the team photo. At the fans forum Brown suggested Tonge wasn't a financial deal but one to offer coaching aside to a playing role. Yates after his injury will be pay as you play.

Were you in for him?

Yeah, but our back four looks pretty settled so it would've been more as cover.

We've gone mad and signed three players in ten minutes. Pierce Bird from local non-league team Dunkirk and former Crewe striker Callum Saunders are the first two. Both been on trial and are likely to play more in the under 23s this year I would guess.

The third is more interesting - goalkeeper Branislav Pindroch from Czech top flight team MFK Karvina. Might suggest that Nolan has had enough of Collin.

Been on the fence about Collin for a while - he's shite but not shite enough for me to care. I love my big foreign keepers though.

What are the chances the likes of Bird and Saunders spend a couple of months at Ilkeston? Searson too.

Talk that CB Rob Dickie is coming in on loan from Reading. Seems to have spent most of the last two years on loan at Cheltenham in the NL then L2.

Thoughts, Cheltenham fans?

Was quality in the Conference. Let down by our poor start last season as a team, so it's hard to judge properly. Also, Johnson kept playing him on the right when he's definitely a cb.

Will do a decent job at Lincoln, no doubt about it.

Our 24 year old central defender Anthony Stewart has extended his contract by another 3 years which is fantastic news as i feared we'd lose him as well as Pierre.

We've signed former Argyle and Bristol Rovers striker Ryan Brunt after a successful trial.

He's been out injured for 16 months but is gradually getting his fitness back and if he does he should be a decent signing, plus he's only 24 so is a good age. Argyle fans really rated him and he will give us some serious presence up top along with Reid.

Thought Notts county were signing Quality over quantity.... signed a lot of crap imo.

Hardy won't be there long, he's not got a clue

Just speculating off the story I read but I reckon it will be a young player we've never heard of - just off the basis of Jones comment about it fitting his ethos and being excited by it but not sure if the fans will be. I wouldn't mind betting it's someone he has worked with and liked before.

He did say it would have to be a player that would fit in the first 11 if he were to make any more signings, can't see too many openings on that front bar maybe a centre half or centre mid.

Someone in twitter says the possible addition is an experienced midfielder who has played over 400 league games and was promoted in May.

The guy has got a fair bit right in regards to transfers this year and last however a few wrong also.

Hmm ok - like the sound of that then! I've banged on about it all summer but a proper box to box central midfield player would top off a great summer of transfer business for us I think.

Cheers.

I don't think Reading are going to be chuffed with us having him as a third choice CB so I'm not entirely sure how it's going to work. If Howe wasn't going out on loan then he'd probably replace Raggett but there's been nothing to suggest he's leaving imminently.

CB Rob Dickie signs on a six-month loan from Reading with a view to it becoming permanent at the end of the loan (that's probably why Reading are happy for him to be 3rd CB if they're getting rid anyway).

Suggestion amongst some that it could be Gary Roberts. Would fit in with what the lad on Twitter is saying, doesn't really with what Jones was saying last night. Not sure how I would feel about him. If true.

Sounds like Roberts to me. Would probably be a good fit at Luton.

The timing fits with Jones talking about him becoming available etc. Not sure it would make much sense though, he surely won't have the legs to play in the centre of the diamond so would have to play as the 10, and we've got Shinnie for that role. Not seen much of Shinnie but sounds like he would struggle playing deeper too, not that that means Jones wouldn't play them there of course... Would rather we didn't cough up a huge wage for someone of that age too. Good player and no doubt but not sure it's what we need at all.

Striker Sam Cosgrove signs on a half-season deal. He's been on trial here all summer and looked decent in the friendlies.

Young Liverpool 'keeper Shamal George signs on a half-season loan.

2 half-season loan 'keepers could turn out badly.

Certainly did for us in the second half of last season...
