Harry Middleton from Doncaster seems to be getting linked with a move to Vale... some rumours Nathan Smith will be sold today too. Would be a blow but would hope for a good deal!

I think Exeter have done some good business. My only reservation is that normally a team who sign four on the last day are either managed by Harry Redknapp or are desperate. I don't actually sense that you are desperate, but I'd be interested to see how you view things. Is the fact you signed four today serendipitous, coincidence or panic? I'd guess the first.

Boateng in an interesting one. We had two versions of him. The first one before he was injured was the reason why we were doing so well. He was gritty, good at breaking things up and good with the short pass. For a big young lad he had a good touch. The second one after he came back a few months later having played for Palace's first team was a shadow of the previous one, and he seemed disinterested.

That said, two years on, given his undoubted skills it is a surprise he is playing in league two. So if you get the first version we had he will help you a lot.

We had Boetang at Crawley and we got the disinterested version. There's definitely a player there but...?

Evans just said on sky sports Callum butcher from millwall he's apparently having a medical

He's been promoted twice from league 1 with Burton and millwall as a regular starter in the last few seasons.

Looks pretty impressive.

I think what weve done, as have Luton is make sure we've the squad depth, when suspensions, injuries and the weather conspire in winter, were more covered.

I wonder if playing for Palace's firsts has been a major negative - that he thinks he has made it and does not need to try. You are right there is a player in there, but it says a lot that he is still at this level.

Looks good on paper should add a bit of bite to the midfield and as you said done the promotion thing before

I am very surprised we've signed 4 players today. I expected 2, maybe 3 at the most.

To be honest, since the end of last season we've lost Stacey, Grant, Ampadu, Watkins and Wheeler so we needed to add some depth back into the squad.

Kane Wilson will provide competition at right back which we needed. Kyle Edwards gives us some additional options out wide which was necessary as Holmes has had some injuries plus Wheeler and Watkins both played out there. Stockley will give us something different going forward and replace the aerial threat that Wheeler had. Brunt isn't going to be match fit for some time so we needed that.

Boateng is the one that I'm most surprised about as he just doesn't strike me as a Tisdale type player. Usually we go for the small, cultured midfield type so to get a 'unit' type midfielder seems odd. But I'm delighted we've signed him and hopefully he will prove to put in 100% otherwise he won't keep his place. Time will tell but he certainly looks to have some wonderful attributes.

Overall our squad looks well balanced all over now and it's a long old season so we should see us keep up around the top places now that we have some depth.

Nailed on 3-0 loss at home on Saturday now!!!

Michael Brown is a joke manager if he doesn't sign a striker we have 5 at the club but only 2 of them are fit. He likes to fill his squad up with several players but has over filled us at centre half and left us too short upfront.we have no one who can score goals on a regular basis yet we arnt signing a striker. He even mentioned in his interview the other day we are missing chances and need be clinical so why not bring in a striker that can score instead of blowing the budget on keepers wingers and centre halves. It's got be a permanent signing aswell as we already have 6 loan signings and only 5 can feature.

If we manage to keep Cooper and Jones we'll have had a fantastic transfer window.

All dead wood released, signed quality throughout the ranks, only gripe is we didn't sign a natural RB but after years of shocking business under Davis, finally we're looking upwards.

Keeping Cooper and Jones are pivotal though if we want a serious push for promotion this season. As long as there are no departures from Gresty Road this evening, I'm confident we can be one of the better sides in this division this season.

Well apparently a seventh loan signing could be close and is apparently a striker... Donovan Wilson from Wolves.

What happened to a smaller squad. Our budget must be decent but is so spread on huge numbers of players it's crazy.

Quiet on the Sonny Bradley front, however our resident ITK twitter bloke has mentioned Rotherhams Aimem Belaid has just been released. Was apparently on NJs shopping list over the summer.

Absolutely no idea who he is...

We've got an incoming. Not sure who, but we've been given a warning that it is imminent, so it must be to allow us to compose ourselves for the sisemic shock. Landscape of this division is about to change.

We are announcing a new signing at 9PM and this is gonna be the BIG one guys, maybe even so much as an EPIC one, possibly on a level with Neymar to PSG, Oxlade Chamberlain to Liverpool, and Luke Berry to Luton.
Beware, this is gonna be BIG!! **

**Or it may be a loan deal for some guy nobody's ever heard of.

Some youth team bloke that Chelsea nicked off us three years ago coming back. I apologise for wasting your time.

We have signed Malakai Mars from Chelsea for an undisclosed fee.

We sold him to them from our youth team 2 years ago

I heard from a source via Luton Airport that the undisclosed fee is seven figures.

Are any departures expected? as from the top of my head it seems Slade must have a fairly big squad on his hands.

I was going to do a hoped for the Earth but ended up with Mars line, but lost the will halfway through. Pretty sure that I'll use the shove it up Uranus Mr Chairman by the end of the night though.

I was going along the same lines of an out of this world signing and how we'd be rocketing up the table. Like you I had a lapse of enthusiasm

That is what is annoying me more than anything. It's like Brown has literally not learned a single thing from last year at all. Quality over quantity, I fail to see how difficult a concept this seems to be at Vale. And that's not to mention how unbalanced the squad is overall.

And another loan is just stupid, can only play 5 of them.

The striker we were after was Oliver Hawkins from Dagenham who has joined Portsmouth. I was expecting DC to be after a more mobile/pacy option than Hawkins. I'd still expect a loan striker to come in before the window closes.

So we currently have one recognised senior centre back on our books in Leon Legge. Taylor has been playing there and has been impressive but I'd be amazed/disappointed/not surprised if we didn't sign another one.

But we were linked with another winger earlier today (we've only got four at the moment so clearly need another one).

Seriously deadline day is the most stupid fucking day of the season, rivals the Checkatrade for its idiocy.
