Evans has confirmed today that he's not even spoken to Peterborough about Miller. Darragh McAnthony has tweeted a straight up "Nope" when asked if he's off to Lincoln.
So he's off to Lincoln then.

Jack Marriott was never off to Peterborough until they signed him a day later.

I’m not inspired by Miller at all. Great scoring record at Dover but comes across as a total knob and seems to have problems wherever he goes.

Odd one from our neck of the woods. Dean Cox has not been around the squad at all with rumours of a bust up with the management team abounded. I fully expected him to go in the transfer window but now it seems he has been out "signed off" by a doctor with a stress related illness and will start training with the squad again this week.

Will he still be here in February? Who knows but then again who will sign a player with this type of problem?

Not that it should be, but isn't the stress card pulled out when a footballer wants to leave? They can't go down the injured route for obvious reasons.

Joey Barton did similar before he left Rangers last(?) year.

I would hate to say that the "stress related illness" is fake but I know what you mean.

The problem is his record since the great season under Slade at Orient is poor. Out for a full season with an ACL injury, contract torn up by Orient after the transfer window closed meaning another six months out. A gradual return to match fitness followed by another 3 months out with this illness.

Persuade your chairman to get the cheque book out for him!

Forest have sacked Warburton. Might mean their new boss fancies a look at our two loanees. We'd be a bit screwed if that happens

Which brainless L2 side are in for our centre half Scott Harrison?

He's not even Northern League standard. Please take him off our hands whoever you are :bdick:

Mad Gav Gunning linked with Crewe after his short term deal has ran out at Vale.

Rumours we are trying to sign Whitfield on a permanent from Bournemouth rather than a loan extension (would cost a fair bit surely)

A striker from Reditch we are also after.

Possibly gambling on the big sell on clause for Jordan Hugill which could bring in £1.5-£2 million this window to us.

We have confirmed the signing on loan of Manny Onariase from Rotherham. We had him on loan from Brentford last season so we know what he's all about - athletic, strong and will shore up our awful defence.

Good signing but we desperately need a left-back before Colchester next week.

Rumours we are swapping keeper Vigoroux for on loan Keshi Anderson. He’s a good GK but a bit of a cock.

Also Rohan Ince coming on loan. He was immense in our shit side last season.

I think it's going to be a really busy month for us.

I don't think anything will happen with the GK's.

In terms of defence Raggett has left with him probably going to a L1 side on loan. This leaves us with Waterfall, Dickie (currently on loan but I imagine will join permanently) and Howe who is on loan at Eastleigh. 1 CB will definitely be coming in and I wouldn't be too surprised to see Howe returning as cover. That will leave us with Waterfall, Dickie, Howe and someone else coming in. Full backs ok.

Winger wise we have: Maguire-Drew and Ginelly on loan I would expect the former to go back to Brighton and the latter extending his loan (unless it already was a season long loan). Cameron Stewart on a short-term contract which expires this month. Personally I would release him as he hasn't shown anything really but maybe he'll be kept on. We have Harry who may get some interest but it would take a massive amount to prise him away, Arnold has struggled but is good to have as back up. Danny Rowe has joined so maybe another winger will come in.

CM's Woodyard will be another who clubs will be looking at but again it will take a big offer to get him, Bossy who has been immense. We also have Whitehouse who has been a touch unfortunate but Woodyard and Bossy are far too good for him to dislodge. We also have Knott who I think will move on so another CM probably to come in.

Up front again 1 or 2 bodies to come in to help Rhead and Green.

To sum up:
1 or 2 CB's
1 or 2 wingers
1 CM
1 or 2 strikers

DC said this evening that JMD is indeed going back to Brighton. That's one, which I thought would be a terrific signing just hasn't worked. Doesn't suit us and he's not strong or fit enough for this level.

Rowe deal is now done, just awaiting something official.

Agree with the numbers and positions you list. We certainly need an increase of at least 3 numbers wise, to take us to 22.

I may have mis-heard but I'm sure he said we have offers in for players, yet others are saying he said we have offers for our players.

Where have you heard that?

I doubt we are in for him, we've just let both our loanees go back to their parent clubs, one of whom was a CB. We've got Raynes, Nolan, Ray and possibly Ng, plus Brad Walker as options. No room for Gunning if thats the case.

We need a RB, attacking midfielder and winger as a start in this window.

I'm sure DC said offers have been made for players we want not the other way round. Got a good few days off now to get negotiating. I think either way we won't be in a position like the summer window deadline day where we were still looking to bring a player in, his business will be done and dusted by the final week.

The way he was talking I reckon we will be in for a centre half and a midfielder (Woodyard?). He sounded fuming with Sheehan and I sort of got the sense that the Port Vale game had made his mind up about some of the squad players (i.e. Pelly and D'Ath).

We do need another centre half for me, especially with Sheehan now out for 3 games, and youd think Cuthbert would need a few weeks to get back up to speed properly.

If we get rid of some the squad midfielders (D'ath, Cook et al) we would need another midfielder, but not sure it would be Woodyard. Im guessing we would need to pay a significant fee for him and would he really dislodge the Berry/Lee combo that we currently have working to such great effect? My guess is we would look at a "Cornick type" midfielder, by that I mean a young player with some raw potential that we can work with and get some game time as a back up to those 2.

If it were Woodyard youd assume he would want a start.

I'd be amazed if you got a sniff of Woodyard, certainly at the minute. If you were flying high in L1, then maybe, but he's basically the Cowleys adopted son. He goes everywhere with them and I can't seem him wanting to leave here given that we're well placed as well.

And, as you say, there's the fee. He signed a two year deal in the summer (that's not to say there isn't a minimum fee release clause) but we don't actually have anyone to replace him anyway. Him and Bostwick are our only two proper CM's in the squad.

Don't know much about Woodyard to be honest, just mentioned his name based on the rumours which seem to have originated from the Lincoln end rather than ours. Entirely possible there's nothing in that rumour.

I do think we'll be in for a CM though, Gambin/Cook/D'Ath all out of contract in the summer and can't see any getting new deals really, could lose the wages from all 3 and sign one quality replacement and the squad would be better off for it. Also the McCormack gamble hasn't really paid off unfortunately so a new defensive midfielder to compete with Rea might be on the agenda.

I'd like to see us going for a CB with a surname beginning with Ragg...

That might be a possibility in 12 months time...

The board have backed Jonesy in every respect during his tenure, I can't see us shirking the need to spend some serious dosh if we need to. We've already spent well over £500k already this season in fees, but taken in £4m in transfer revenue.

Doing the rounds on OVF... same person got the Redditch lad signing today correct too. We’ve mainly played Mad Gav at left back.

Well we definitely aren't in the market for one of those, not yet anyway. Got 2 as it is. If he could play right back, I might believe it. But we're covered(at least in terms of numbers) for CBs and LBs.
