Lawrie Wilson has had his contract terminated and strangely signed for Ebbsfleet, huge fall from being part of Bolton’s promotion winning side last season! Been awful for us though and looked completely uninterested despite being one of our best signings on paper.
Good riddance to the fucking prick attitude stunk don't know why he signed here when he clearly didn't want be here worst waste of a wage going.

Jamey Osborne has gone back to Solihull permanently. Personal reasons ie wanting to be back home is the story but the bottom line is he was our most talented player and would've improved our team tenfold after recovering from his injury. We won't replace him.

Basically he'd rather play for a club heading to the Conference North than a team in League 2 which speaks volumes for where our club is at at the minute, complete shambles on and off the pitch.

Hollis is a good lad with a great attitude. Against big static forwards he's ok, any kind of movement or guile from a strike force and he is prone to catastrophic errors. Positioning is extremely suspect under pressure.
Wish him all the best, a new start might be the making of him.

Looks like Frecklington to Lincoln is done then. Some signing that providing he stays fit!

Rumours now that Tom Aldred is coming to Luton from Bury. Not sure how accurate but missed feelings if true.

On the upside, he destroyed us in the air against Blackpool in the playoffs. It was him who Cuthbert had to wrestle all game and eventually gave away a penalty against in the first leg. We could certainly do with that aerial presence.

Negatives, he is coming from Bury who are absolutely pony, so presumably their defense is too.
Furthermore he would probably be a step down from Sonny Bradley who we were strongly linked with.

Another negative someone's just pointed out on Twitter is he's a herbal life goon! That brings back some very bad memories.

Meh, would rather we waited until the summer to get our first choice targets. Sheehan is only out for two more games and Cuthbert like 3 weeks? We've still got Mullins, Rea and then the two youngsters to tide us over, if we don't give Famewo in particular a chance now then when will he? Might as well release him in the summer if he's not going to play now.

If Aldred is a first choice and viewed as someone who can step up to League One then fair enough but if it's just a stop-gap signing then why bother? I suppose all three of our first choice centre halves are out of contract in the summer, maybe Jones is going to be pretty ruthless with a defensive overhaul. Would be insanely harsh not to offer Cuthbert and Sheehan new deals though as they've been excellent this season (Sheehan's indiscretion against Lincoln aside).

Rumour has it that F***** loanee Yates has signed a new contract and will return to the club before going out on loan to Scunthorpe.
Alan Hardy says he already has a back up ready, which, if we are led to believe won’t be Noble but I have no idea why not. Seems silly to add money to the wages when we should have replacement already.
We are also close to 2 loan signings and maybe one further permanent signature.
I can’t see any being in before Saturday though. We will see I guess

Yates has been recalled, a shame but he’s been great and wish him all the best.

Hearing the replacement is Lewis McGugan who will sign tomorrow. Not exactly like for like.

Surely if Forest are wanting Yates at L1, they'll be moving Grant on as well?

I think they see Yates as a genuine potential first team player next season so want to test him out at League One.

Grant I think they’ve decided isn’t going to make it there long term and they’re gonna flog him for a big fee in the summer, so might as well leave him here to win League Two player of the year rather than risk him not settling elsewhere and his value going back down. Hopefully.

They might flog him sooner than the summer...

Maybe, it's a worry, particularly as Norwich (who've been linked with him) look set to sell Maddison.

It's the problem with loan players, Nolan's recruitment has been absolutely spot on so far and i'd trust him to be able to deal with it either way. We've known all season that this was a possibility (and I suspect signed Noble partly because of it), but Grant's goals would be very difficult to replace - perhaps why we're going for McGugan, who has got a decent goalscoring record over his career.

Yep its hard enough holding on to your own players that are any good never mind the ones you have on loan.
Happens all the time sadly.
Our manager has a thing loan players too

The pride of Long Eaton, Lewis McGugan. He was an interesting character back in the day.

Ridiculously talented footballer who I assume has either emotionally checked out on his career or is currently the size of a house - hopefully he can still twat a free-kick like he used to at the City Ground. Either way, certainly not a Yates replacement and a little curious given we've already brought Noble in.

I’d forgotten that he is existed but the fact that he’s recently played a few games for Northampton and apparently did pretty well makes me slightly more optimistic.

If he’s fit and got his head screwed on then he’ll take the piss out of League Two, but how many players do clubs at this level say that about for it just not to happen?

Killed our season last year relying on a loan keeper who was recalled in January to sit on the bench at his parent club. We'd have gone up had we kept him all season more than likely, the last minute replacements we got were awful (and the one who was less awful got recalled later too).

McGugen must have either an attitude problem or is crocked from a previous injury.
Seen him play for Forest a couple of times and each time he was the most talented player on the pitch for them. As a comparison, over the last few years only Andy Reid, Billy Sharp and Mikael Antonio looked on the same level for pure speed of thought, skill and the potential to do better than lower mid table Championship Forest. McGugen sparkled.
Yates leaving is awful news for us. The only comfort I can dredge up is that we were doing well under Nolan last season without him. Fully expect Grant to want to move up a division now as he's always been ambivalent about being at Notts and clearly sees us as a stepping stone.
Ched Evans has more than enough about him to be a goal machine in Div 2. Question is , can he cope with being a hate figure for the rest of his career. Lee Hughes was a very strong character and took the boos and jeers in his stride. Clive Walker who always gave us a roasting , ( no pun intended ) could let the crowd get to him after his fall from grace back in the 80s for anyone under forty.

Apparently Leeds refused us permission to talk to Conor Shaughnessy. And now they're in for James Justin.
That'll go down well.

Just a reminder to the Notts fans that Ched Evans was found not guilty, just incase they forgot like.

Rumour this morning that Mansfield have more than gazumped us for Freck, to the point that it's not even worth us trying to counter or negotiate our offer.

Back and forth, back and forth!
