Billy Knott gone to Rochdale on loan for the rest of the season. Good luck on their pitch, Billy!

Not really the surface you'd think would suit a ball-playing midfielder like Billy!

A midfield three of Frecklington, Bostwick and Woodyard (if we keep him):wub::wub:

We've signed midfielder Paul Green from Oldham on loan. Not really sure why mind, yes he brings experience, but given the fact we need pace out wide, a goalscoring midfielder and a right back, I don't see what he brings. Maybe I'm missing something.

Odd one about frecklington.

Great player for this league and a great addition for Lincoln.

Not sure what evans was doing, can only
But assume he thinks we can sign better. They'll be a lot of justified stick if he doesn't strengthen.

He failed to bring in adequate forwards in the summer window so the pressure will be on.

Lincolns midfield isn't far off ours now quality wise tbh.

We’re set to bring in Billy Waters on loan. Did really well for Cheltenham last year, happy with this signing

Well Lincoln's twitter has him as saying if he was gonna leave Rotherham it would only be for Lincoln, which suggests either the player or Evans is talking shite.

This is from the Stags own fan forum.

"I understand Lee Frecklington made the final choice of which club to join.

Two were in for him, he chose Lincoln City, despite claims elsewhere #RUFC #Millers"

Steve Evans talks shit, shock horror. Who would have thought it, will wait for the comment that we spent hundreds of thousands gazumping Mansfield next.

Mansfield made a last-minute offer last night with an offer of a wage much higher than ours. Freck opted to come here as he's recently moved back to Lincoln.

Walsall have confirmed centre back James Wilson has been recalled by Sheffield United and looks to be heading here on a permanent. The Walsall fans seem pretty pissed off.

I said a good few days ago he'd go to Lincoln, he's local and they're not poor finance wise.

Evans may have it as a smokescreen - we were linked with all sorts of amazing forwards and ended up with Kane hemmings - who has been "meh" he's scored goals and looked alright but not the stellar forward we were promised

He/His agent used Mansfield to get more money out of Lincoln. That’s how it works isn’t it?

Good signing for Lincoln, if he stays fit and you hold onto Woodyard then that’s some midfield with Bostwick in L2.

Two windows, two League One captains signing.

I'd like to thank England and Everton's Michael Keane for being shit at marking.

That also rules out Ricky Miller - which I'm more than happy with.

Just need Scott Wharton or equivalent to be rolled out on saturday and it'll be a good week - with Derry largely restricted to loans as he sees out his contract.

Nicely done today with brining a home-grown player back to the club and giving another his first professional contract on the same day.

Ellis Chapman's only 16 and has been training with the first team all season, and he's got a 3-year deal. We've had tonnes down the years who have been very good for their age but not quite kicked on at 19/20 and have left. Ironically enough, Freck didn't get his break until 22 and was a late developer.

No surprise to see Knott go out on loan. He doesn't fit our system. You could see when he played that he wanted it to work and we tried to put him on the wing and in the number 10 position but it's just not worked or happened for him. On the one hand, not surprised to see him end up at somewhere like Rochdale where they like to knock it around but on the other hand, he's got zero chance of being productive on their pitch. It's not even a Sunday League pitch they're on at the minute.

As for Freck, well, I'm chuffed to bits with that.He left quite abruptly last time and Jackson left him with no choice but to leave really, effectively telling him that he'd rather spend his transfer fee than keep working with him. We rarely play 3 in midfield, but to potentially see Freck, Woodyard and Bostwick in there is brilliant. If we went 5 across midfield it'd be Rowe, Bostwick, Freck, Woodyard and Anderson!

Not play that many games recently but we had Adam Marriott last season who was the same and was available most of the season and Eardley this season who's only missed one game.

Wouldn't surprise me if Evans helped his mate out at Rotherham to get a few more ££ but I think there was a genuine case of Evans wanting Freck. I find it hard to believe that he'd pull out of a deal to potentially re-sign his captain from the most successful part of his managerial career. Part was probably agent talk as well, where they do that trick of agreeing something and trying to change the goal posts at last minute to get a bit more ££ for themselves and/or the player.

So Steve Evans has just said this in his presser:

SE: "We'd agreed a fee with Rotherham to buy Lee Frecklington. We went to bed last night wholly satisfied. By nine or ten o'clock this morning, we had a feeling that it wasn't quite right for us. When I explained my thoughts to the chairman and CEO, we unanimously agreed.

"We're not in that process anymore. Over and out."
Freck was asked about Evans comments in one of his interviews and was quite diplomatic. He stopped short of calling him a liar, but it was quite clear from his facial expressions that it wasn't the case of Evans pulling the plug on the deal. He also went on to thank Rotherham for allowing him to leave mid-season and with minimum fuss and fee.

“When it comes down to a football decision and you’re asking me if I would rather play for Mansfield Town or Lincoln City, the obvious choice is here”.

Rumours that Manny T have bid for Grant.

Can’t see it being true. Norwich, Bradford and Brentford all supposedly made offers

Apparently set to sign James Wilson, CB, from Sheffield United. Not sure if loan or permanent but he's been on loan at Walsall for the first half of the season (which was initially a season-long loan).
Walsall manager confirmed tonight at their fans forum that he expects him to sign for us. Recalled by Sheffield United, then had his contract terminated so looks like a permanent deal.

Also talk of a(nother) winger coming in. Certainly an area that needed a shake up and DC seems quite non-committal on Ginnelly's situation (on loan from Burnley, which has a break clause in January), whilst Cameron Stewart's short term deal ends in two weeks.

I cannot comprehend how Evans is still capable of winding up people so easily.

Take it easy.

We sold centre half Jordan Turnbull to Northampton today.
He was recalled yesterday from loan at Patrick Thistle, fee not disclosed, rumours are we are in for a centre forward with some of the money

Ah, the old 'he's been caught out talking shite (again) so let's pretend he's on the wind up' line. Always works a treat.

Jordan Williams of Rochdale is a name being thrown around. A winger we tried to sign from Barrow in the summer but ended up at Rochdale. Not really worked for him in L1 apparently.

I agree he’s talking shit actually, but I don’t get how it’s winding people up.

Wind ya neck in, no room for sensitivity on the Internet.

We seem to have developed a history of bidding for someone we've no chance of getting. When the inevitable happens and we don't get said we player we then get someone no-one has ever heard of who scores 1 goal in every 5 or so

It still works, and he's still good at his job.

I think it's a mix of the agent wanting to extract more money from Lincoln, SE thinking something might happen briefly then realise, as we all expected - that he had his heart set on Lincoln all along.

We certainly do need another midfielder to "take control" as we've missed this.

Midfielder and a striker is all we need.

I’m personally glad we didn’t sign Frecklington too, good player but I’m not sure he would of turned out being good value for money considering everything.
