a 50% fit Barry Corr would score more goals than most strikers in this league. I'm pleased for him to be given a chance after his terrible luck with injuries.

I have to say the club have handled Barry since his injuries and giving him the chance to prove himself again is nothing short of bloody fantastic

Agreed, but I don't think he is even at 50% tbh, otherwise the club would have offered him more than a two week contract.

Would love it if I'm wrong!

With him spending time at the club and on the training field at the end of 2017, I had a sneaking suspicion that it might be possible and a tentative hope that it might happen - just to brighten up our start to 2018.

May come to nothing but more than happy that we're giving it a go and, for BBBC's sake more than our own, I hope the knees are up to it and he enjoys an Indian Summer to his career. I think I'll raise a glass to him tonight.

With Jabo still suspended, definitely room for him on the bench to provide a cameo tomorrow.

Even on one leg, Barry Corr is among the best strikers in the league

Let me dream for a bit Vanni will you - please stop with these serious, sensible posts.

Not sure we can take much from that...

After Nolan took over so we were fairly competent.

Husin looks like your Grant insurance to me.

Still can't work out why the fuck we signed Noble.

When is O'Connor back? Keep forgetting he's on the scene somewhere and he's a pretty good Yates replacement.

Just back in training apparently - six weeks or so until he's available for selection.

Although i'd be wary of throwing a guy who has been out for so long with such a serious injury into a team like ours that relies on playing at such a high tempo tbh.

Very decent player to have coming back in to your team though. I like O'Connor when he gives a shit. Good player

We’ve just signed him for the rest of the season. Sounds like he’s struggled to make the step up to league football? We badly need pace, so I imagine he’s got plenty of that but not much else.
If you can keep him fit you might just have a decent player there.
Typical young winger very inconsistent but he will work for the team and occasionally will score an absolute belter .
Good luck to him.

Slade has said he's not gonna rush into any signings, and if he has to wait until the Summer to get his targets then so be it.
Which sounds great considering how fantastically well we're playing at the minute and I'm sure the fans will all be very patient at having to watch these absolute dogturd performances week on week, expect the fans to come flooding back to us in their thousands very shortly.
Well done Russell, and an even bigger well done to Fenty and the board for backing the manager despite loads of fans saying they will never go watch us again while Slade is in charge.
Pleased I've already got my ticket for tomorrow, I think it might sell out. :2thumb:

Don't expect anything from us any time soon. McGhee says we are "behind the curve" on transfers, despite saying before the window opened that we needed reinforcements.

Maybe he might have time to find new signings if he didn't have the job of appointing his own replacement while still managing a no doubt demoralised and confused team in the meantime.

Even if we have brought any players through the door to speak to us I can't see them being interested in signing on at such a shit show regardless.

We sold centre half Jordan Turnbull to Northampton today.
He was recalled yesterday from loan at Patrick Thistle, fee not disclosed, rumours are we are in for a centre forward with some of the money

It was a free transfer so there won't be much money to spend!

Billy Waters confirmed on loan and eligible for tomorrow.

Please play him upfront. Showed glimpses but because we've got absolutely no width hasn't had a decent chance in his actual position and has had to make do with being shoved on the wing

Might get a chance in a front 2 with Uche if we play the diamond.........or even in a "go for it" 442 alongside BBBC or Jabo or Uche.

I agree with you but suspect he'll find himself squeezed onto the wing as often as not.

If he's lucky and has more about him than running in behind (which on Cheltenham form he has) he'll enjoy playing in a fluid 4 2 3 1 with George Maris and Jevani Brown, supporting Uche and leaving the blessed Melito (Don E, who also has a musical bent) on the bench

Waters should get plenty of goals playing with Uche and Brown.

Seems like they'll only be one more 'in' for us this month - an ST.

We looked into Miller from Posh according to their chairman but couldn’t persuade Norman to pay for him!

I think we might want him but only on loan, which will mean we are waiting to see if anyone tries to take him permanently (as Posh want). It's a punt with his court case coming up in April but I imagine contracts can be written to cover what happens if he is convicted. Whether he wants to sign it is another matter.

It'd make no sense to pay a fee for a player who could end up in prison (unlikely, I imagine?) in April. You can put something in his contract but it doesn't help get your transfer fee back.

I think MacAnthony said last night that DC wanted him but the Board weren't keen.

There has got to be “an old has-been” who would be thankful of help to resurrect his career floating about the leagues above....
Joleon lescott touted about....

Too late, anybody like that and Slade signs them up for us before their feet can touch the ground and gives them 2 year contracts despite them being completely fucking shite.

Last season we looked like a retirement home for old strikers with Paul Hayes,Gary Thompson and The Beast (The only one of the 3 worth a wage)

We've loaned out Callum Evans (Macc) and Fabien Robert (Aldershot) for the rest of the season.

In total that's 10 out so far this January, 4 loans returned to parent clubs and 6 out on loan. At least 2 more leaving shortly.

Swindon have signed Marc Richards after his contract was cancelled today. Good signing for them, he'll score goals given the chances.

Beat me to it Eric Sabin (there is a blast from the past!).

What kind of player can we expect? At 35 I suspect this may be his swan song!

Was generally pretty good for us (few years ago now mind) good hold up play, and decent touch for a big lad.
Always injured at Christmas, and is a bit of a big time charlie

Legs have started to go a bit but if you supply the chances he'll score. Not the most mobile so you'll have to get players around him, but as I say he can still score.
