Campbell was like the median average of every young lower league winger who is very fast but can’t control the ball that you’ve ever seen.
He'll be different now though -- bound to have lost a bit of pace as the years catch up :D
This is the move that will make him, we'll all be able to say we saw him at TNL when he's off the the CL in a couple of years time.

We've signed Tahvon Campbell on loan from West Brom. Pacy winger apparently. Had loan spells at Yeovil and Notts County last season. Been at Solihull this season. Hardly an overwhelming cv, but you never know.

Luke James has gone on loan to Barrow for the rest of the season.

He was a bit of a meh player when he was with us. Did nothing of note.

Clearly we were after someone and it fell through, very much a panic buy.

We've apparently got a sell on clause with Ethan Pinnock, so given how he's playing for Barnsley (motm v Wolves last week) and Barnsley's new billionaire owners would be surprised if they sold him for anything less then £30m. I've heard from a reliable sauce down the pub that our sell on clause might be as high as 50%.

Making the total value of the transfer £15.5m. Good business.
Enjoy the trip back to non league sir.

Loaned a couple of kids from Villa and Newcastle. Harry McKirdy, who doesn't look a day over 8, and Daniel Barlaser.

Always hit and miss these loan signings. Both seem too old to be anything special, in the Gylfi Sigurdsson way, but hopefully more Callum Cooke than Cedric Baseya.
Meh, got to roll the dice and hope for the best. Artell had no idea whether Cooke would take to league football or not, no guarantees with either of these 2. Could be shite, good be pretty good. Fingers crossed they, like you say, are more Cooke than Baseya.

That kid Harry, played well at the Mill last year while on loan at Stevenage. He was that fast we could not catch him to kick him.

We charge 50p a letter and I have 4 kids (8 month old twins) - the days of me having disposable income are long gone, and sadly I'd have to take out a loan to do it.

Somewhat disappointingly, he'll have Ilias on the back of his shirt.

Aston Villa to sign Jack Marriott for £6m. A 10% profit sell on clause (if we have one) would equate to an extra £550k coming our way. Making the total value of the transfer £1m.

Villa haven't got that sort of money

Crewe expected to sign a player on Monday. All I know is he's not a defender. My bets are that he's a winger whoever he is.

We've also been linked with Alex Penney, an RB who will be on loan from Peterborough, but he may be coming after the Swindon game next week.

50p! We charge a quid a letter and 3 quid a number!

Yeah 50p is really cheap, think we also charge £1 a letter when I got my lads name on his shirt but can't remember exactly, definitely more than 50p though.

That sounds promising. We lack so much pace it’s unreal with Bowery, Dagnall and Porter.

To be fair, it's probably £1 now, last time I got a name on a shirt was in 2005.

Something has happened with Mr Arnold never hit the heights this season.
Various rumours flying about including one of his daughters is ill.
All Danny would say he was unavailable today, last player he said that about was Bradley Wood and never played for us again after the same comment.
Like Nathan and a huge part of last season, my daughter will be very upset if he leaves as he's her fave player.

I've heard a rumour Nathan Arnold is on his way back to us.

Unfortunately I started the rumour myself, just now. :2thumb:

Otis Khan may well have scuppered his move with one act of stupidity yesterday. What he certainly has done is stop himself playing against Man Utd, the club he grew up 15 minutes away from and dreamed of playing for. Idiot.

"...Mansfield Town centre half George Taft is back at the club after spending the first half of the season on loan to Saturday’s opponents Cambridge United.

However, Taft is still well down the pecking order at the One Call Stadium with Stags well off in that department and boss Steve Evans admitted Taft will be heading out again this month.

“He will be going back out – it’s as simple as that,” said Evans. “He is a fantastic lad – a great professional – and I had really high hopes for him back in the summer. He’s been at Cambridge and done really well. We’re not saying Cambridge are not wanting to do something further going forward, but at this minute in time they’re not. He is back in here and I’ve had a couple of managers come on about him already. We’ll see where that goes.......”

I'm hoping George will be back with us next week and doesn't get caught up in games being played between Evans and our recruitment team. FIFA rules mean that he can only play for 2 clubs, us or Mansfield, this season - he played for them against Lincoln in the league (Edit PoxyTrophy) in August.

Either Evans wasn't aware , is hoping we weren't aware and trying to extract more cash from us :told: or we're playing silly/clever buggers over how much we'll pay for him to spend the rest of the season with us :ohy: .

That game v Lincoln was in the Checkatrade trophy. Not sure if that matters or not.

Ah! That might be why he was not in our squad for our 2 Trophy matches after he arrived. I think they count as "official matches" in the rules but I might be wrong.

I think that one game in the tinpot cup doesn't count, just like yellows and reds don't either, and rightly so if you ask me. Also, Evans doesn't comes across as that stupid to me. He could be pretending to be, but I don't think he is either. That would mean that he thinks that nobody in our camp (Jez, Strang and the others) is fully conversant with the rules, and that looks ridiculous and far fetched to me.

I believe the club thinks we could do better than Taft, and I have to say I agree. After all, he's just a decent CB of which there are plenty in the lower leagues. Then there are his shortcomings, most notably his lack of pace. I've always thought he struggles a lot when faced with a pacy striker/forward, and once again, there are loads of those in the lower leagues.

I agree it shouldn't but I think it probably does. The supplementary to Trophy rule 7.12 doesn't cover the specific issue but implies it should be treated as an official first team match - even though they've fudged it on red/yellow cards.

"7.12 No Player may play for more than one Club in the Competition in any one Season.

Guidance

Matches in the Competition are first team fixtures and will count towards the application
of Article 5.3 of the FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players (the socalled
‘3+2’ Rule)...."

Looks like the only way a player can have two loan periods with different clubs is if he hasn't played for the club that owns him that season.

I suspect these regs don't apply to the conference though. So Taft could be Conference bound if he doesn't go back to Cambridge.

Players may be registered with a maximum of three clubs during

one season. During this period, the player is only eligible to play

official matches for two clubs.
