Could be set for £1.6 million with PNE reported to be close to selling Hugill to Palace for £8 million... could of done with it a week ago so we'd have time to use it!

Yeah I thought that, very unusual for him be so forthright about potential conditions of a transfer (i.e. stating that anyone wanting to buy him would have to loan him back to us until the summer otherwise we would not sell this window). That fits the he's-off-to-Brighton rumour.

Can’t see Norman doing anything with any money we might get other than sticking it back in his bank account and then putting a realistic price tag on the club.

He should also think about taking a short walk behind the ground and asking Synetics if they still want to pay the reasonable price they offered a few months back (minus a few hundred grand for Norman’s stupidity and stubbornness).

PNE deny any contact with Palace, and I think a PL outfit would offer more than that. Didn't Reading offer the same and have it rejected?

I can't see it happening, but I hope I'm wrong.

No contact from Palace, no contact from any club since Reading in the summer, in fact and he's traveled down to Nottingham for our game tonight. If anything happens it will be a last minute deal tomorrow for stupid money.

More money the better! If we get £2 Million in sell on's oddly he would become overtake Gareth Ainsworth as our biggest sale... 99% of that from the sell on fee!

Big money at this level, our local paper is reporting there has been no contact but who knows what is going on behind the scenes.

If a Prem club meets our asking price then he will be off, don't think we will sell to another Championship side during this window.

I can’t understand how Hugill is rated so highly, granted, I’ve not seen him play for a while but when we had him I didn’t think he was up to much.

Recall his debut at Crawley as Adams dropped Pope in a shock selection and he looked decent enough, I have to be honest when he turned us down for a new deal and went to PNE I was surprised by the move (bit like when they took Dave Hibbert).

In fairness he has done very well and developed well. Wasn't he one of the development squad which we ditched after a year despite it giving us him and Andoh who had he not got crocked would of likely made us big bucks?

How has he done for you? We found him frustrating to say the least!
He hasn't really been given a chance to be honest, sometimes just gets a few minutes as sub which I don't quite get as it's not like our other forwards are banging them in so might as well give him a chance in my opinion. The couple of times I can remember seeing him on the pitch for a bit longer he's looked decent and has impressed me but obviously not Slade.
But then I think why sign him (and Harry Cardwell in the same boat) but then never give them a fair chance to impress?
The bizarre world of Russell Slade.

We’ve signed Charlie Raglan on loan from Oxford.

We've signed Charlie Raglan on loan til the end of the season. Looks a good deal on the face of it, Oxford fans gutted he's left and I remember Chesterfield fans rated him highly during their promotion year?

Also another former youth player we have brought back to the club along with Joe Davis.

His improvement in the last 3 seasons has been huge and I still don't think he's the finished article despite being 25. Working with Kevin Davies seemed to do wonders for him.

A goal scoring target man with pace is a rare commodity.

Its a start I guess. We are desperate for a LB though.

Pope, Raglan and Davis back... Joe Cardle will be next at this rate!

Good signing, was rated at Chesterfield I think and was desperately needed. Anderson replaced... left back next please!

Gregg Wylde loan to Morecambe winger, can be exciting but league two is level for a reason. Wingers who are fast but are not great crossers only take you so far. Not played much for us this year, but will give you width and can be an impact player as a sub.

Fry also told the Peterborough Telegraph today (January 29) Posh have turned down a couple of bids for Danny Lloyd from rival League One clubs and that he’s completed a loan deal with an unnamed League Two club for unwanted striker Ricky Miller. That deal hasn’t yet gone through as Posh prefer a permanent sale.

“Ricky has agreed to go on loan to a League Two club, but that deal hasn’t yet gone through as we’d rather get him off the wage bill permanently. If we can do that it will release funds to make another signing before the window shuts if the manager wants it.”

DC said yesterday in a press conference that a striker he was hoping to sign might have to go down to the wire. Might be 2+2=5, but we shall see!

Karlan Aherne-Grant on loan from Chalton for the rest of the season. Attacking winger/forward.

Played a few times for Chalton this season ( off the bench and Micky mouse cup) and seems to be around, but not a starter for, the England under 19 squad.

Don't think we need another winger as this makes six at the club and his goal scoring record doesn't show he can lead the line so I would expect one of our better wingers to be going. Jordan Roberts for example.

He’s always been highly rated at Derby but never scored goals out on loan so far (albeit at higher levels than this).

I would be happy with that - he’s lightning quick and skilful which is something we don’t really have. Would offer us a totally different option.

He's definitely more of a striker but isn't very good.

That said, he's been on the fringes under various managers now so they've obviously all seen something in him. To be fair, he has the makings of a good striker - if he could finish. He gets in good positions and makes chances for himself, just doesn't score.

This might be a good move for him and you. A drop in level might see him notch a few and get his confidence up which I think is a problem here.

He seems a good kid so will be following him with interest, I hope he does well.
