Fingers crossed we can add a forward but more importantly not lose anyone.

Fair play to him, nice to see a bit of loyalty to his employer (or Cowley I guess is the major factor) in this day and age as we'd no doubt have offered him a hefty pay rise.

I still think Arnold is decent enough for the FL. I have no idea if his head is right with the off the field problems he has been suffering on and off with in his time at SB, but I hope he stays personally. It does look unlikely though given the other wingers ahead of him and obviously he would want more first team football.

Alex Woodyard doesn’t want to move to Luton Town so that transfer is closed.

“We enquired about him, they said he wasn’t for sale, and whether the boy had a desire to come here, we don’t know."
Nathan Jones post match interview.

It doesnt really matter as end result is the same but that is different to what he said on his BBC interview. On that he said Woodyard wasnt keen on leaving, on the interview they have put on youtube with Simon Pitts he says Lincoln said what djs quotes on the above, which implies the club said no.

That shuts down that one then, although I'm sure they'll be other offers in at some point for him. To lose him and Raggett in the same transfer window would have been difficult to take.

That's not what he said on 3CR.

I liked Nathan Arnold when he was a young lad with us, always had potential but never progressed. He gave 100% though.

We're signing Adam King on loan from swansea apparently. He played a lot for Crewe Alex... Any Crewe fans on here?

Looks like Luton will be completing the double of winning the league and also winning the league two net spend trophy

Anyone who turns down a chance to play for one of the worlds best teams ie Real Madrid,Barcelona,Manchester City or Luton Town....wants their bumps felt and should never get another opportunity to play at the highest level....
I'm sure he won't now.
I bet his poor agent has quit in disgust at him staying at such an awful club.

Bit of a discrepancy between the two interviews. 3CR one suggested Woodward didn’t fancy it, the one with Simon Pitts said Lincoln turned it down. In theory it shuts it down, however I’d take it with a pinch of salt. Depends on whether it was Lincoln or Woodyard who said no, if actually the former then we could end up going back in.

Imps OS saying a bid met his release clause but Woodyard turned it down.

This is all very strange. We've now come out and said Friday's bid met Woodyard's release clause but it was his decision to stay at the club. Well Cowley said we had rejected the bid, so which one is it?

Good to see he's staying but worrying his release clause is as low as it is. Should be at least £250k imo.

I'm a little confused now as well.

On Thursday Cowley said we rejected Luton's bid but the OS states that we received a bid on Friday that met his release clause. If the second bid was Luton, and there's been nothing to suggest they bid for him again, why didn't they just hit his release clause first time round? I mean, they'll know how highly rated and important he is to us, so why come in with a silly offer that was always going to be rejected? Even more so if the difference between the bid and release clause is only £40k or something. Comes across as a token offer for the sake of it, if that's the case.

In that respect, and maybe being off the mark, you'd imagine the bid on Friday was from another Club.

Anyhow, Woodyard's basically said he's not interested in going anywhere and wants to stay with the Cowleys so that's good enough for me at the minute.

Sounds like another club to me as well. Jones also said yesterday that it wasn’t us or Lincoln who leaked our interest in him/bid for him. Jones said initially we had only asked the question too, not put in an actual bid (although that contradicts his other interview so take that for what it’s worth)

I’d guess from that Woodyards agent or whoever has leaked it, perhaps so when it comes to talking contracts he has some leverage, or perhaps to get the low release clause fee out there and known to drum up more interest whether that be now or in the summer

Sounds like his release clause is low though. Seems similar to the Berry situation where I think he had a low clause put in there so he would sign a new contract.

It's good news that it looks like Alex will be staying. If he/we can turn down a bid that would have been one of the best we had ever been offered for a player, it shows just how far we come in a short space of time.

The article on our OS just says an EFL club and it would have been one of the highest fees received by the club.
Our record fee received is around 500k.

Tom Anderson has gone back to Burnley. Can only assume he’s injured or they’re loaning him/getting rid of him to somebody else.

This leaves us incredibly short at the back, especially considering Kay is no longer a centre back and Zak Jules looks unfit.

I don't think he is injured, so he must be on the move. This just underlines another very poor transfer window which leaves us threadbare in defence. So much for the promises of financially backing the new manager.

Disaster that! He has been outstanding in the main part. We never learn from these windows do we! We need to find someone in place that is reliable by Wednesday.
