Pretty good assessment. Still wouldn’t care much either way.

I know what you mean. That shit season has only been over a couple of weeks and I’ve already convinced myself we’ll piss it next season.

The unfounded optimism of the fan knows no bounds!

Rushian Hepburn-Murphy on a season long loan from Villa. Anyone know anything about him?

No idea if true but heard several times now that apparently Notts are in for Omar Bogle. No idea if it's true or not but heard two different people say it but could be Chinese Whispers as one said permanent and the other said Loan

Good at the basics, very brave, will always give 100% and put his body on the line, but can’t pass to save himself, but your manager will know him after having him at Shrewsbury.

As a defender he’ll be pretty decent if played alongside someone who can organise the back 4. He was shit for us with Raynes, slightly better alongside Gary Liddle, then very good beside Clint Hill.

My main gripe with him is he’s very rash at times, over commits to try to get to balls he can’t possibly, which have sometimes led to calamities.

But i’d say a good signing for you
Got a fair bit of pace for a centre back too. Honestly I always rated him, he wasn't the best alongside Raynes but he never really looked like he lacked the ability to be good.

The question that still remains is, will any of the players we've offered contracts to actually accept them. I'm starting to doubt if Grainger will, he hasn't said much and even though he's Carlisle through and through, if he feels the board have fobbed him off he might decide his career is best seen out elsewhere. There might be clubs in Scotland would fancy him.

Tom Hopper doing the rounds today on twitter, wouldn't be a bad signing if true.

Suggestions within the club Legge has signed and he was on twitter moving house at the weekend after following some of the club staff. We like to do a video for the reveals this summer so assume if he has signed we are waiting for him to get to the club before like Joyce and Daniels he will be shouting "Up the Vale" down the camera or something!

Rumour we are signing Ollie Banks on a perm after being on loan last season. Meh.
He's an absolute fairy. He got a lot of stick from our fans in his spell and is one of the worst signing i can remember. I can take his lack of ability, but there's nothing worse than a player who shits out of challenges.

We tried to sign him in January. Lives in Lincoln.

Signed striker Andy Williams on a two year deal. One of our main problems last year was a lack of goals (amongst many other things) so hopefully this goes some way to rectifying that

James McKeown has signed a new 3 year deal. Terrific news for us, the stats last season for our games with him compared to without him are incredible and shows just what a good keeper he is.

That’s a very good signing at league two level in my eyes. He is no Marc Richards mind you but he’ll bag goals.

I heard that he turned down a lot more money from Motherwell to stay too, always a big winner with fans when a player chooses loyalty over cash, great news. :)

Good to hear.

And of course, Marc Richards at League 2 level > anyone else at League 2 level

The only issue maybe keeping him fit which is always been a problem historically.

He’ll almost certainly score against us, and Richards against you guys no doubt!

He was the big target in January that let us down by signing for posh and we ended up with Mason Bennet

Think Rico is going to get a tremendous reception when he comes back to Sixers

Our manager wants to bring in 6/7 players as after the retained list is announced we will have 16 on the books for next season.

Mark Ellis confirmed.

Good enough if our ambition is to be in the top 7?

McKeown signing on is very good news. Probably the best shot-stopper in the league. Now he just needs to improve on everything else!

Must be on a decent wedge to reject Motherwell too.

Bradford in for Andy Cook. There goes any chance of us outbidding the chasing teams.

What I heard was that it wasn't him who pulled out but that Cardiff sent him to Peterborough instead, again, Whispers so probably no truth in it but definitely the kind of ambition we need

First new signing of the summer at the Abbey is Louis John, back up (hoping George Taft is on the way) CB from Sutton United who can also play RB. Promising prospect and competition for Harry Darling, who might well go out on loan to the National League once the season gets underway.

Our captain allegedly said something to a fan that seems in line with your comments about banks being a fairy, something like "he's a show player and doesn't fight for the team".
To be fair, he did look pretty good ability wise in his short spell for us, but you've seen him playing against the likes of charlton and peterborough, whilst we've seen him up against guiseley and maidenhead so...

Looks a decent signing and I’d be happy with Taylor, Taft (if he signs), Louis and Darling. Taylor aside it’s very young and inexperienced but got massive potential.

Park Avenue??

Can't be City surely as Cook's never League One standard.

He improved an awful lot this season in particular, must have had a dozen assists (mostly Norwood) and his workrate his increased several fold.
