I didn’t think you had had much dollar?

We do and don't, it depends how the chairman is feeling. We had £2,000,000 for Hugill in January (sell on) and sold Grant (£100k and Alnwick £250k last season). our debts are to the chairman but his desire for the club seems to change like the wind!

We have signed 60 players in 2 years, the issue is we've had a decent budget spunked on 35 man squads rather than how we should be on a 20-24 man squad!

They won't be huge cash offers though I doubt, almost certainly 5 figures put it that way.

Not for me. Class a wanker, his comments about us before our derby game said it all.

Mansfield can also do better.

Chesterfield having a fire sale before they go into admin. Let the lad enjoy then pit of misery called the conference with his other chesterfield chums.

I’m not sensitive like that Adam, it’s very hard to find a 20+ goal striker, Hemmings, Angol, Rose are all better players I think but Dennis can finish which is something them three cannot.

Apparently we were offered our ex loanee Michael Doughty from Posh. Power turned him down, but now he has been released and so is free. Power could be interested now, if Brown fancies him. Be cracking for L2.

Just Brown. I presume we all know his favourite cheese. Ask generally about transfers - obviously don’t expect any names. Plus I’ll ask him why I should buy 2 Season Tickets next season.

He goes with my best wishes. Played a massive part in helping us get out of that hell hole. 51 goals in the last two seasons leaves us with a lot to replace. Quigley and Dennis are two names I’ve seen mentioned.

+1

Wonder what Cole Stockton is up to these days, didn’t quite work out for him at Hearts.

We bid 35k for ben whitfield in january so if we have tabled a bid i doubt it would be anymore than around that figure.

That was before the Hugill sale though so you never know. Problem is you just don’t quite know season on season how interested Smurf is. Hopefully (although maybe clutching at straws) last season has given him a wake up call.

It says proven league goal scorers but no other clue than that. Akinde has been mentioned but you’d expect Barnet will want more than five figures! It’s got to be realistic so striker relegated from the EFL or one from a smaller League Two side we can offer a better contract than, otherwise currently we’d be either a sideways or backwards move! Or possible a National League striker who is ex EFL.

If neither come off I guess we will never know. A half decent finisher would thrive off the Pontiff.

Derbyshire times now reporting we have made a bid for Kristian Dennis. Would be a great one if we can pull it off with him and Pope up front!

Stockton is utterly useless, can’t actually believe any professional football club would want to sign him.

Agree. Lots of Tranmere fans rate him but I don't get it at all.

Isn't he out of contract?

He is now though Bournemouth have offered him a new deal. Will probably re-sign there then go on loan to a L1 club would imagine. Would be subject to some sort of transfer fee anyway given his age.

If we have bid for Dennis, or indeed any half decent striker (all we know for sure is that we’ve tabled two bids for two strikers) then this will be the acid test for Smurf, is he finally learning and trying to undo the mess he’s responsible for, or will it be derisory and get nowhere near our targets.

We’ve made two solid signings so far but this is where the Vale fans need to see us make a statement of intent to get the club back on track after the darkest season in our history.

It will be interesting to see how these bids pan out but with the Hugill sell on the least we should expect from him is to be competitive in these sort of signings rather than penny pinching over a few grand.

He's massively a confidence player and needs an arm around him and fans that don't jump on his back. Flourish at a club with low expectations. Morecambe, Oldham etc.

Oh Danny Rose!!

Heard nothing although he will definitely have interest, signed a new deal recently and a fan favourite so will cost a lot.

Looks like we are definitely after Matt Preston according to local press and Phil Brown.

Seeing as he’s in discussion over a long term contract it’d take £££ for anyone to get him, but yes must be a wind up.
Surely, if he wants out he won't sign that deal? He is either gonna stay or you'll get the value based on his current deal?

Dennis, whilst being a good finisher seems to have a poor temperament, against us he got wound up all second half and spent most of it trying to get our players sent off and could easily have gone himself for a couple of bad tackles when obviously wound up. Scored a good goal thought but then when we got the 3rd he proper lost it.
(Opening game of season not the one at Blundell Park).
Yep, Dennis is lazy from what I have seen too. I can't see us being in for him, thankfully. It's all well and good having a 20 goal striker, but when they aren't pulling their weight it doesn't always pay off. If he doesn't get a L1 club, I'd much rather be in for Tom Hopper. Reckon we would have to go toe to toe with Lincoln for him if that happens. Local lad though so is more than likely well aware that all this Lincoln stuff going on right now is merely a flash in the pan, which could help us. Lincoln will be able to chuck a bit more money at him, however.

Supposedly in talks with Mansfield’s Danny Rose?
Craig's fave player at the moment. Think he started last season well but tailed off. Bit hit and miss from what I gather, surprised a Championship club is interested.
