Eddie Clarke signed for fleetwood. Interesting to see how much money we get for that. Another big loss, Mellon will have a lot of work to do, albeit with plenty to spend.

That’s just awful, losing our best prospect to a club like Fleetwood. The worlds gone mad.

Indeed. It has been quite a grim week with Cook and Clarke leaving, but I think the other players we want to stay, will stay.

Leon Legge is your typical head and kick it CB but he used to give me kittens when he tried to play football.

Still a top league two CB and will chip in with 3 or 4 goals a season. Never loses a header.

I best change my avatar.

Local reporter Graham McGarry is suggesting another signing to come this week and if who he believes it will be a very very good signing. Possibly one of the strikers weve bid for? Or Howkins again?

The difference we are seeing is huge. Brown pissed off on holiday for two weeks as soon as we went down last year whereas we’ve been hard at work getting players in.

I’m confident we won’t be anywhere near as bad as the past season at least which is comforting.

The TNS lad is intriguing, multiple Champions League appearances ;) against like might of Thorshavn and KR Reykjavik, best we can offer is Newport Away! Seems someone we’ve watched for months so be interesting to see if he can cut it though.

So far our likely starting line up:

Scott Brown

James Gibbons
Nathan Snith
Leon Legge
Christian Montano

David Worrall
Luke Joyce
Luke Hannant
New Winger

Tom Pope
New Striker

Two key areas to address or Hanno out wide with a more creative central man.

Certainly shaping up to be more competitive and balanced which is key rather than a midfield aged 700 combined.

I just hope we push the boat out to get a second striker that can compliment Pope and give us a real chance of challenging the right end of the table.

Yep starting with Jennings today... Been made aware of another signing to be announced later in the week which will be a great signing. Reckon the squad will slowly start to come together but would expect a fair few more signings especially with us being allowed 7 subs next season!

Tweet on Twitter so possibly bollocks but suggests it’s between us and Wycombe for Dennis now, we’ve put a third bid in so are favourites but he would rather go to L1 Wycombe but it’s not clear if they will match our offer.

Interesting to see! Enjoying us trying to get decent players in for a change even if we do miss out!

In terms of McGarrys tweet his clues are that it’s a goal scoring number 10 currently under contract to an EFL club and should be done in 48 hours.

Ollie Banks on a two year deal, no surprise there. He looked really good for us last season albeit in a lower division. If he can replicate that it’ll be a good signing.

I quite liked him at Swindon at the start of his loan last season and chipped in with goals. But randomly after he came back from injury he was woeful.

Few have said he thinks he is better than he is and so in a struggling team will be akin to an ashtray on a motorbike but I don’t really have a bad word to say about him and wish him luck.

Yeah, pretty ineffectual towards the end - but then again, so were most of them. Fine for L2, though.

Think he perfectly compliments what we already have in midfield, Connor Jennings and Ollie Norburn both being technically sound with ridiculous engines. We’ll probably want a defensive centre mid and a winger (resign Larnell Cole) and that’ll be our midfield sorted.

Thats the one. Ex-Crewe youth player as well I think.

Will definitely be him then. We love a Crewe youth player.

Never been prolific but he’s still reasonably young with quite a few games under his belt for his age.

Looks like he’s following Vale players on Twitter. Always a sign.

Any Cheltenham/Northampton/Crewe fans got an opinion?

Was at Cheltenham according to wiki, over a goal every 4 games.

Wonder if a fee for him? Going back in with a 3rd bid on Dennis too it seems after £100k rejected. Smurf's digging deep for once!

I always thought the lad showed promise for us, another one who at the time I was surprised that Davis released. Guess he has not progressed much as he is still in league 2, but maybe Aspin can up his game, worth a punt.

Rumour we're going to sign Ryan Boot. The keeper formerly at Vale- was here on loan a few seasons ago but I never personally got to see him play. Vale fans, any good?

He’s not great in all honesty but he is still young so in the right situation am sure he can improve. Vale did him a massive disservice putting him in well before he was ready due to our constant inability to sort out the goalkeeping situation at the club.

Sadly for him I doubt he will ever live down one of the worst keeping performances imaginable at Crewe for the short while he was on the pitch.

We only saw him briefly and then we played him out wide almost every time. The one game he played up top was with his look alike Sam Hoskins and shock two small strikers dont win headers. He seemed pacy enough and enthusiastic. We didnt get a chance to see his finishing as he was never in the box. I suspect with a guy like Pope he would be best suited.

We don't buy players so that rules us out of getting him.

Had an excellent two years with us and was arguably even better in L2 than he was in the NL but obviously hasn't quite happened for him since he left. Should be a solid signing.

We've signed Ben Tozer from Newport, happy enough with that.

Probably thrown in too young but that was the mess Brown left us with, made a few errors but did show some promise at times, oddly one of his best performances was the Wycombe one a week before his calamity which cost us at Crewe where he made a horrific error then just lost his head.

If you sign him then you’ll almost certainly ship at least 10 goals that could have easily been avoided. Made some serious, critical errors that cost us so many points. The Crewe game sealed his future because he totally bottled it and Aspin was not happy about it. He’s probably a Conference North or lower standard of keeper.

Seems like Waters is a forward that can play up front, out wide or behind the striker. Possibly a replacement for Ben Whitfield in behind and running off Pope with the versatility to push up or go out wide. Sounds like he could be promising.

If he is a number 10 type player he would be suited in our formation in behind Pope assuming we stick with one up front as such, that said if we do pull of the Dennis deal then surely we would go 2 up front!

It's not a very strong rumor going off what's on our forum. And if he wasn't good enough for the first team in non league then he's probably not worth it now.

Happy with the Tozer signing.

Regarding Waters - looked ok in the Conference but was then brilliant in League 2, however that was clearly his limit. Despite him getting our player of the season last year, I wasn't overly disappointed to see him go. Excellent instinctive finisher and an absolute work-horse, but if he has to think about it chances are he'll put the ball wide or at the keeper.

He is definitely a forward as well - he's wasted on the wing and invariably creeps into the middle as the game goes on.

Yeah we never saw him up front so we can't really judge.
