Stevenage might have a bit of money to spend, just sold there centre half Ben Wilmot to Watford. Undisclosed fee of course but apparently 1 million.

Looked a good player when I saw him a couple of times last season so a shame he is going to that lot.

Andrade was the only player who turned up for Boreham Wood in the play-off final - has scored in his last 4 appearances against us and won't be shocked when he makes that 5 in a row when we play Lincoln. Proabably Boreham Wood's best player and easily good enough to play at this level. Good signing.

On the TRFC front, GK Scott Davies has signed a new 2-year deal - pretty happy with that. Makes the odd gaff but a solid lower league keeper.
I'd have thought you guys would look for a new number 1 instead of Davies? Seems like a similar keeper to Jalal in that his gaffs are too regular and costly?

I don’t think it’s a position we are too worried about. He’s probably average as far as league two goes but I’d imagine we’ll want to have plenty of cash in the locker as we still need 2 strikers, winger, centre mid and one or two full backs.

Whilst he seems like he might be a decent signing that quote is ridiculous, he played 2 games for QPR in 5 years ffs.

It's not ridiculous, Conker said he might struggle to make the step up to the NL, yet he has played in the Premier (albeit fleetingly), league one and two.

Nice trolling anyway.

He’ll make the step up but won’t be as effective. Doesn’t have the determination and work rate that Danny Cowley wants which makes it an unusual signing.

I can count on one hand the number of goals conceded I feel he's personally been responsible for in three years. Makes the odd gaff, but none have been too costly. I think he probably had his worst game for us in the 1-4 against yourselves, but saying that two of those goals were special strikes.

His distribution, although deliberately slow at times, can be excellent (he's set up a few goals with great kicks to the wings, etc) and he's a very good reflex stopper. I was surprised you binned Jalal, because he has league experience and is a solid keeper from what I've seen.

This is part of THE CHANGE.

Route One to Total Football.

There will be a slight style change. You could tell that when Pett and Frecklington were brought in, in January looking forward to next season.

Whether it's going to be a successful one, time will tell.

It's feels bizarre being a Mansfield fan this time to last summer, we already made quite a few signing. It's a lot more quiet this time round, despite the fact JR supposedly giving flipflop the same backing as Stevie Evans got.

Plenty of business to do though, excluding the six available for transfer we only have 12 contracted and McDonald could potentially be going for a six figure fee soon too.

It's going to be nice to have a smaller squad with youth player additions, although the big squad, high wage worked under Paul Cox to win the conference for me 22/24 professionals is the perfect number.

So what you're saying is, he's played in all of those leagues and nobody from those leagues thought he did any good so he dropped into NL and that's what means his transition will be seamless?

He probably will do well, but Conker is right, it is a step up (back up to somewhere he's previously failed).

Let it be known , as of 25th May 2018, I officially back Andrade to be a success at Lincoln. I see him as being a big part of the teams clear intention to transition from long ball to direct football

Yep it did, wouldnt normally mention a Stevenage transfer but as a Luton fan I couldnt let an early lead in the coveted Net Spend Trophy go unnoticed!

Wheres that fan who said a League 2 defender would never go for over a million as well?

Yeah saying it will probably be a good signing but disagreeing with your reasoning is definitely trolling. Fucking idiot.

Guys, at the risk of stating the obvious, all player signings are a risk in that one never truly knows if the new lad/s will settle in. And yes, this goes to proven superstars like Neymar and Messi too.

On the face of it, Andrade's signing looks to be a pretty good one and if I were a betting man I'd say he'll quickly become a fan fav at Lincoln.

It always seems to be ‘that time of the month’ when it comes Lincoln City. I put it firmly down to their average age
Must be an emotional rollercoaster for Lincoln fans to be fair. Their first game as fans being a 5-0 defeat at Arsenal and their last a thrashing in the playoffs.

Will be interesting to see when they have a shit season how many turn up but have to say fair play to them for attracting and making the most of the success to snare them week in week out which most clubs don't do. The marketing guys there did a fine job!

I also reckon the Lincoln fans should calm the fcuk down. This is a footy forum and people are free to express their opinions, and surprise surprise, these opinions often differ from the ones you hold.

IIRC, I joined TFF back in 2012, and since that time I've come across all sorts of comments on my beloved U's. Some were complimentary most were not, and all sorts of adjectives were used to describe what fans of other clubs made of us - 'crap'/'poor'/'thuggish lot'/'worst side I've seen this year' and so on. Some also accused us of buying promotion a couple of years back.

Some comments made over the years were probably true, others were probably way off the mark. But so what?

It does seem, though, that Lincoln are many people’s punchbag on this forum for no apparent reason.

I wonder if it could have anything to do without the fact that most fans at this level would absolutely love to be in their position

Larnell Cole signs a one year contract with Rovers, giving us another option out wide. He is a very talented player but his attitude was a bit suspect at times last season, so I am not totally convinced. A full pre-season should do him some good.

It has to be said, our recruitment so far is already streets ahead of last summer, even if there have not been any major surprises.
