It’s more to do with the weird arrogance their fans on here generally seem to have.

I don't see much sign of arrogance from the Lincoln fans on here apart from maybe one person, it's no different to most of the other clubs that have reasonable amounts of posters on OFF, unless I am missing something.

Callum Howe who we transfer listed has been sold for a small fee to Harrogate Town.

I would class calling somebody a troll simply for disagreeing with one of your posts a definite form of arrogance myself.

Must be an emotional rollercoaster for Lincoln fans to be fair. Their first game as fans being a 5-0 defeat at Arsenal and their last a thrashing in the playoffs.
Nah first game we all went to was Oldham in the cup on December 5th 2016 the day the club was formed, our first league game was against you guys ten days later;)

I wonder if it could have anything to do without the fact that most fans at this level would absolutely love to be in their position

You mean having lost in the play offs after spending shit loads of money on players like Bostwick and frecklington, having god like managers whose only tactic is to whack it to a fat bloke up front and spend 90 minutes moaning to the officials, and have quadrupled their support in 18 months due to being on tv and having a bit of success but ready for when they all decide that going shopping on a Saturday is once again more important than going to sincil wank.

Yep, absolutely love to be in their position.

My first season observing the young Imps on here , I conclude that they are ultra sensitive compared to fans of any other clubs. Needlessly butt hurt for reasons I don’t understand.

Welcome to league two. The following rules apply

1. Never criticise Danny Cowley
2. Never criticise Lincoln City
3. Never dare to specify rules 1 and 2

Cowley's a hawk nosed tossbag with an annoyingly shaped head and i don't like him.

Ooo it feels good to break rules. Almost turns me on.

I think the dislike of Lincoln comes from the shift in attitude from their fan base.

2-3 years ago they barely had one and that fan base used to claim we weren't rivals, which was the reason for barely fetching 500 to our derby games. On top of that, moaning that we were 'bankrolled' and hounding us when we lost the play offs.

Fast forward to now, those same fans (and a lot who previously saw a trip to Argos with the missus as a better Saturday day out) claim we're now big rivals. They make a banner (I'm going to keep mentioning that monstrosity) saying 'A new era dawning, be cast in our shadow for eternity' for the derby game they don't care about. They've been bankrolled into a nice position AND cry when we take the piss when they've crumbled in the play offs.

As Mike Skinner once said - 'The Irony of it all'

Grimsby have always been a rival for me, probably our main one. I have been to Lincs cup games at BP when it has been a bit nasty. As for the banner, that's not indicative of lots of other fans that don't necessarily agree with it. You can't tar us all with the same brush however that certainly seems to be the case on here.

I think someone else it the nail on the head in an earlier post. In the past we were the whipping boys, always guaranteed to give away a few points and was little threat. Now we have turned the ship around (I know it's unlikely to last like this) but suddenly we are a different animal and people don't like it.

Maybe that's because the posts get hijacked on a regular basis into a Matt Rhead fat joke or Cowleys nose, or bank rolled (which we aren't because it's been done by honest hard work) or glory hunter fans every time. People can take a bit of stick but it gets a bit annoying every fucking time.

Well they’re far better off than Grimsby so the jealousy is understandable

Yes very understandable in terms of Grimsby fans on here, it must be a very strange and unusual feeling for them being the inferior club in Lincolnshire for the first time in........... forever?

It always seems to be ‘that time of the month’ when it comes Lincoln City. I put it firmly down to their average age
Davidimp will love you for that - he's an old bastard. ;)

Not a wonder posters get replies from Lincoln fans when they're at this sort of level.

We're not bankrolled, for a start.

If there's a perfect example of a fan base being tarred with the same brush, it's us. For some reason.

No-one looks as Carlisle fans like they're all a 'Carver', or Grimsby fans because they're a GTFCfish, or Luton fans because of Kenny, Mansfield because of Adam or Notts because of VikingMagpie, FGR because of Chris etc

Indeed Luke I'll be 46 in September.
Not bankrolled as such but had some investment with a few new board members arriving in the last 2/3 years.
The rest of the cash we've got has been from the snowball effect of the last two seasons.
The banner was done by one set of fans.
Not sure what any of this has to do with signing a lad from Boreham Wood...

Stevenage might have a bit of money to spend, just sold there centre half Ben Wilmot to Watford. Undisclosed fee of course but apparently 1 million.

Looked a good player when I saw him a couple of times last season so a shame he is going to that lot.

Odd situation for us to lose a player for a record fee when they've barely played a handful of matches for the first team. In the past when we've lost players for a big fee they've been key members of the squad, Boyd, Morison, Bostwick, Freeman etc, Wilmot won't be a loss from a first team perspective but is probably in the best shape to go all the way and make a name for himself at the top level.

Don't reckon we need another keeper but L'Pool are loaning us one of their kids to gain some invaluable match day experience. Louis Carius or something is his name.

Forte would be a good signing for Cambridge, potential mysterious falling out with your manager notwithstanding

Someone on our forum claiming we’re in talks with Jay Spearing. Another Merseyside based player in a position we’re short in I suppose.. but he doesn’t seem to ever play a full season.. albeit mostly championship / league one.
