Gavin Hoyte is an annoyingly good signing for Barnet, very consistent at this level - the sort of player that if you have in your side, you're not going to be relegated.

Bloody Barnet building a half decent team.

That's the rumour on our board but I can't see it myself. He's only just signed a new contract and by all accounts was looking to get some more game time with us before making the step up. If he did go it would be for a big fee which would go a long way to improving our squad, but like I say I don't see it happening myself.

I'll have to change my bloody signature if he goes.

There's rumours of it on our forum, and I seriously hope they aren't true and that he stays with us. He's our best player my some margin, and is going to be essential next season.

Fans are always biased towards their own players, but if he was to leave, he'd surely have to be £1m+.
Scored 10+ goals from midfield last season, he's still only 19 and has bags of potential.

If we've just got around £200k for Potts then Dempsey has to be around the £1m mark. Knowing our board it'll end up officially being an undisclosed fee before some joker leaks it as £400k plus add-ons.

The thing is our current full-back pairing of Yiadom and Johnson are more than adequate at this level but it's good that we have signed someone who will really make them earn their places in the starting XI.

I strongly agree with that. Potential for the least agile strike force since... erm... Henderson and Plasmati :animatedf:
Both good strikers on their own but I wouldn't want to imagine them alongside each other. I don't even know which tactic you'd be forced to use.

We've signed Sean Clohessy from Colchester and Sammy Moore from Wimbledon.

Sad times for us that these are the sort of signings we now have to make.

But this is where we are, Moore is ok for this level and Clohessy did ok for Southend.

I thought Clohessy was a decent fullback for Southend, certainly a good defender, never easily beaten by anyone at this level always found his positioning pretty good and I saw him score from the halfway line at Oxford, that was unexpected.
He was offered a very very good deal to stay for the 13-14 season (I heard a whisper he would have been our best paid player by some distance) but went to Kilmarnock, where it's all started going wrong for him, started the season but seemingly found that level difficult, when he went to Colchester I thought he'd do ok there but apparently he's not been very good at all.
If you get the Southend Clohessy you'll have one of the best fullbacks in the division, if you get the Colchester one you've just spunked away more money.

If true then you can all stick a large sum on us going down. We'll be much weaker than the side that almost got relegated last season.

I think we will be spending some money this summer so a move for Dempsey seems plausible, I think we've had him watched a few times.

I'd be chuffed with this one.

I for one reckon it is absolutely bollocks, we are still giving out three year deals and we've been linked with some big names. One striker we are in advanced talks with will not come cheap even at League 1 level

He's not ready for the championship. He's only got 1 season of league 2 football under his belt.

Can't really say until he's thrown in there, get him on a lengthy contract and if he struggles initially then i'm sure we could easily get him a loan move in League One. Better to pay about £500k now than be priced out a year down the line.

Oxford have signed Sam Slocombe on a 2 year deal after being released from Scunthorpe. Remember him being very good in their promotion season, if he stays injury free then they have got a very good keeper.

Rumours Ryan Clarke may now come to us, not sure if thats true or not.

The Dempsey to Preston rumour which has had our entire fan-base in meltdown has been denied by the club. Thank fuck.

No chance Northampton will go into admin. However they seem to have spent an awful lot of money just to get back into League One and they've failed every season for the past six years.

You wonder just how long your chairman would put up with this, mind you I remember a few years back he said he'd invested £14 million or something in the club and in that time they'd gone from mid-table League 1 to mid-table League 2!

Absolutely brilliant signing for Oxford that, was the best keeper in this division two years ago and he will be once again.

Yeah its not exactly been a successful time for us! Frustrating thing for him (and us) is that he has backed his managers financially, but when a new one has been required to save us he pays off all the dross and brings in a whole new team. Happened with Johnson, Boothroyd and now Wilder, hopefully this season will be different!

Left back Jake Carroll signs from Huddersfield.

Was on loan at Bury in 2014, how did he look?

Mansfield are in danger of having a half decent attacking side next season.

That's a decent signing.

He's lazy, frustrating and you'll spend half of the time hating him, but he will score a decent amount of goals and set up a few as well at this level.

He's fucking shite, always has been and always will be. It makes me physically sick and angry that some Notts fans don't despise the lazy slow twat as much as me. No surprise to hear he was even utter wank in the legends match at Meadow Lane the other week and looked unfit even at that standard.

I prefer him out wide, but I don't think he's played there regularly since he left us.

He's a strange player to describe, he's not really good at anything other than shooting, but good enough at that to score ten goals a season. He's fucking lazy though and really slow and weak, will offer literally nothing to your all-round play. No chance i'd have him back, but he's not a bad signing at this level.

I'd have kept him but neither Awford or Cook liked him, lazy bit is true but he can finish.

I've rarely seen anyone strike a moving ball as well as Westcarr. His cross or shot of a moving ball is sublime. However he's fucking bone rodney and makes really stupid decisions. He also looks like he's about to fall over when he's running, doesn't look very gainly. He's not one for when things are going wrong, but he will get some goals. You can expect maybe 10 from him if he plays often. How are Mansfield affording things like this? I thought One Call told that dodgy chairman fella and his plastic cokehead wife that he's not allowed to put any more of the companies money in?

Another big earner I should think? Considering he's left Portsmouth where he would have been earning a big wedge.
