I can't see Dempsey going now that the Preston rumour has been quashed. He'll be one of the best players in the league next season but unfortunately won't be in one of the best teams.

Because adding Alfie Potter is going to get you promotion.... next joke. Average side thats strengthened slightly with adams.

Buchanan was wanted still by most Preston fans as there back up left back for the championship after playing over half there games last season. Adams is proven at this level and the one above and I have faith the remaining signings will be of high quality.

All this talk of final league standings and the fixtures are not even out yet.

The majority of summer dealings are yet to be done.

Elliot Omozusi signs for Cambridge.

Was very good for us in the division above until last season when he looked a complete shadow of his former self. Get the old Omozusi back and you have a terrific signing.

Interesting signing. That's the right back we needed.

A decent signing that for Cambridge, he can play anywhere along the backline but his best position is either left or right full back . The year we finished 3rd he was playing left back all season for us and was superb.

He was sent to prison 4 years ago but has managed to re-build his life on and off the pitch and Russell Slade managed to get the very very best out of him, he is quite quick as well.

Last season he was awful though - Although he wasn't the worst defender we had by any stretch, but he looked very very disinterested, made mistakes and was clearly not playing for the club or managers we had (Not that I blame him), although he wasn't the only one by any means as I already said.

He is one of those players that if you can get his head straight, he will perform very well for you. Before he went to prison, he was awful and last season when we all suffered, his head wasn't straight.

Good Luck to him.

I'm increasingly impressed (but not surprised) with both our recruitment and lack of leaks this close season.

Richard Money said: “I’m over the moon and glad to have got the deal done because I have been in discussions with the club since the end of the season, with the view of a move this summer."

Elliot said; “One of the reasons I signed was because I spoke to the Chief Executive Jez George, who informed me of all the community projects that goes on behind the scenes at Cambridge United and that’s something I hold pretty dearly. I have had a chequered past but I have come through it and being involved in the community is something that means a lot to me. Hopefully I can bring a lot to the club in that regard as well.”

Apparently we've signed Ryan Clarke from Oxford. Makes sense, and a lot of people expected it after Duke was released

I'm very impressed by Cambridge's recruiting.

In terms of his community stuff, he was very big with that here. Grew up in a gang, spent gaol time for witness intimidation, but seems to have turned over a new leaf so fair play to him.

Its amazing how some players with good, but limited ability can demand so much in wages at this level and the one below. There are bargains out there; Mangan would be a good signing for someone, but not for £1,500pw+!

rubbish. I sometimes (all the time) worry about our fans.

Tell me about it. Our fans are getting their knickers in a right twist over a lack of signings in June. To the point where most of them have thrown their toys out the pram over Gary 38 years Jones for fucks sake cause we haven't offered him a new deal. That's desperation for you

How do you know it's going to be £1,500pw+ ?
Wages are often OTT when it comes to fans thinking they know what players are earning.

I think you need to double that.

It is believed that when we signed Mangan last season from Forest Green they agreed to contribute 50% of his wages as they were desperate to get him of the wagebook as they could not afford it!

Some of our fans are unhappy because Curle hasn't spoken to any of the local media in 6 weeks, yet they complained when we were getting 3 interviews each week! He's also been on holiday during the 6 weeks, and he's told our media officer he just wants to focus on more important things like signings etc.

On the rumours front, apparently BBC Radio Cumbria have started following Jabo Ibehre on Twitter. I think he'd be a good signing, though some on our forum disagree.

If he does sign he'll get at least two goals against us, always scored for Colchester when we played them. He'd be your new Peter Murphy who seemed to like scoring against us.

If Andy Mangan is on £3000 a week then football really needs to re-evaluate itself. Absolute tragedy.

The sad thing is with Forest Green paying heavily inflated wages it's believable.

Alex Lacey is set to sign for Yeovil according to Pete O'Rourke of Sky Sports News.

Good luck with him. There's a decent player in there somewhere I think, but he's so lightweight for a central defender. Zero aggression and very prone to getting bullied by League Two strikers of any merit. Definitely needs a big, commanding, experienced partner to talk him through games.

I'd be chuffed with Jabo Ibehre, pretty consistent lump of a striker who'll never do really well but will always do well. Good to have someone like him to give advice to the likes of Rigg and Wyke as well, and he could help Beck progress a bit more.

Jabo would be an excellent signing for any league 2 club. He's a decent, tough, hard-working league 1 centre back. His hold up play is second to none.

No one will ever be our new Peter Murphy. But you're right, he did like scoring against you :)

Maybe he'll be the man to sort out our woeful defensive record them :2thumb:

We've followed him on Twitter which usually means something is in the pipelines... and an interesting story has come out about it on our forum as well. Apparently Curle asked for the money to buy a big centre-forward (which I assume is Ibehre) from our owner, Jenkins, and his family have decided that they've had enough of him giving the club money. They've supposedly been watching our forum and reading all the insults about Jenkins and said that if it were up to them they wouldn't give us another penny.

Do we let Shoddy move this to the Tinpot Thread?

When you say "we" who do you mean? I've checked @officialcufc and it's not following him.
