Palmer has signed for Crawley. Did alright for us despite his detractors, scoring 11 goals. But he was never going to be anything more than an option off the bench.

Ollie Palmer to Crawley for an undisclosed fee.

I thought he was a good impact sub (as his numbers proved last season), but definitely not a starter. Problem with him is that he's average at most things. Bit of pace, but not blistering, wins the odd header but not enough for someone his size, ok at holding the ball up, but not great etc.

That leaves us with two strikers - Green and Rhead (maybe Andrade but he's not a striker per se, I don't think.

We're back in pre-season training tomorrow and could do with some bodies!

We spent most of last season playing without a forward. The big Dutch unit Verheydt was a sicknotenand Canara was to raw to be trusted by himself. Any half decent striker would be great.

Rumour from a friend on a WhatsApp group, ( solid or what) is that we've bid for Enzo Boldwijn from Crawley.
is he any good , could it be true Crawley fans?

I'm guessing that's us done for departures now. Looking forward to seeing the signings where we're probably waiting for the World Cup to end to dot the i's and cross the t's.

I see that Plymouth have signed Scott Wootton from us on a free transfer.

I know we were terrible last season and deserved to get relegated, but it's no exaggeration to say Wootton was a big part of why we were so bad. Awful defender, full of mistakes and directly responsible for quite a few goals last season.

Think most Leeds fans would agree.

Palmer was brilliant for us last season when he played and deserves credit . Almost always made an impact when he came on and did ok when he did get a run in the side.

If he's to be your main striker or one of two, I think he'll thrive especially on the back of a good season with us.

I just didn't think he did enough particularly when he started. He was great to replace Rhead after 60/65 minutes as Rhead bullied them allowing Ollie to use his pace. IMO he didn't have that je ne said quoi to be a consistent striker. Will get a deserved good reception when he returns.

Doesn't seem to have done much goal scoring wise though which my main concern.

Our presser confirmed a rumour that a 6'5 inch player was at the club the other day for talks... he wouldn't name names but rumours today suggesting Harry Smith from Millwall? Worth a punt Swindon fans?

Smith’s twitter suggests he has signed for someone...

Rumour that we are signing Gary Warren who has been released by Inverness. 33 year old cb, was their captain, and is a west country lad, so seems to tick all the boxes for what we need.

Sorry to see Palmer go, as the other Imps have said he often made quite a difference when he came on as a sub. Didn't have quite the same impact when starting but he is a handful.

We must have an awful lot of signings in the wings after having mainly fringe players leave (Woodyard aside), we now have a very small squad as things stand. Expecting 6/7 to come in with possibly 2-3 long term loans.

Enzio is a good winger for this level but he is probably not as good as he looks (end product missing). He is one of the players we sign a song to so I may be being a bit harsh.

Rumour is he wants to move up a division and has apparently turned down Notts County to that end....but as I said; rumoured. He is under contract for another season so a few will be needed but not a big one as we are tinpot.

Only ever an impact player off the bench at L2 just doesn’t cut it. Fair play to the lad (whoever he is) that he has professional pride to go where 1st team starting position is a lot more likely

Oh, Ollie Palmer confirmed our end now. Says it's a nominal fee and a two year contract. It would have to be nominal as we ain't got a pot to pee in.

Some outs for us:

Chris Maguire to Sunderland
Zeli Ismail to Walsall
Greg Leigh turns down contract extension

4 in (Adams, Moore, Dagnall and Aimson)

3 outs (Maguire, Zeli and Leigh)

Zeli Ismail is class on his day I’m sorry to see him go. Leigh was also a decent performer for us, but did get caught out defensively at times. Chris Maguire good riddance to that c***.

"playoff chasing" is an obvious bollocks indicator. That applies to pretty much the entire division. It's like when those mediums stand in front of a live audience and declare that they're "getting something from the letter A...does anyone have a deceased loved one with the letter A in their name?"
True, but you can piece bits together quite easily.

To be fair to that Ex-Agent guy, he's been spot on with most of what he says.

Wimbledon is a long way from Barnet assuming he lives north side of the river....

I'd assume he'd want to play higher... But it's whoever pays the most when it comes down to it most of the time

Also the fact our manager is hugely reluctant to pay fees for players especially forwards, he'll go to Wimbledon unless DC suddenly changes his style in the transfer market.

I agree with your assesment of Palmer. I always thought he was a better impact player from the bench.

When he started games for us he didn't really make the same impact, he's not a clinical finisher either. He doesn't have the technical ability or footballing brain to be anything more than a squad player in League Two.
