Who is this Yates that would guarantee a promotion on his own?

Leave me alon I've got a man crush on Yates! we were eight points clear of the playoffs with him and only just scraped over the line to the play offs without him, effectively dropping fifteen points from Christmas to the seasons end.

Flitcroft used to say we had a bottom 6 budget. Don’t believe a single thing he says when it comes to money. He’ll say what he’s been told to say by the chairman.

Chairman said pretty much said budget is the same, I’ll be able to comment if that is likely to be correct after we have finished our summer business.

We’re being heavily linked with Chris Long, which for me, would be a bit of a coup.

Obsessed ,nutts had grant on a years loan ,paying hemmings over the odds ,flitcroft says he wont pay over the odds ,we shall see big als spending the gate money before they have paid

Obsessed ? I’m not the one quoting and claiming to know players wages. I don’t care, I pay my money and watch my team.

All I was wondering is how the modest Field Mill gates support paying those Evan signed players wages last season I will never know with some of the figures quoted by Stags fans for Anderson, Hemmings, Angol et al. Care to explain Bargain Stag Abroad?

At least Big Al’s at the World Cup. Call yourself a proper footy fan Johnny Boy?

Ollie Palmer to Crawley is the latest, not a surprise, needs to start games and we can't offer him that.

Ahkeem Rose has finally had confirmation of a 30 month residency and has signed on a 2 year deal. Let's hope he's decent after all that.

Dan Turner on loan to Falkirk confirmed. Good move and will aid his development no end. Hopefully we reap the benefits as we did with Smith going out for a year.

George Pilkington has rejected a new playing contract with us to become first team coach at Shrewsbury. Brilliant defender and managed 3 POTY awards here. Gutted to lose him but I think we all knew this was going to happen when he came on upfront for the last 10 minutes in the last game last season.

I remember when we stole him from Luton back in the conference, was on big money but never played.

Always came across like a proper professional though.

Loved Pilko at the Vale, was really decent for us in a half decent League One outfit at the time for much of his spell.

Great servant and was surprised he dropped down the divisions to Luton at the time who were doomed to relegation with -30 points.

We had Pilkington on loan during our relegation from L2 in 02/03. Even back then he was obviously a decent player and was one of the few successes of a really bad season.

Kanu was a handful for Aldershot in the conference, good little player. Vale looking like they'll be a different animal this season if they have Pope Miller and Kanu going forward, may well be worth a flutter.

Absolute class act is Pilks, just a shame time has caught up with him. A true MTFC legend, all the very best of luck to him.

We really need to make sure we get Keith Lowe signed up now, plus a couple more centre halves.

Doesn't seem to have done much goal scoring wise though which my main concern.

Our presser confirmed a rumour that a 6'5 inch player was at the club the other day for talks... he wouldn't name names but rumours today suggesting Harry Smith from Millwall? Worth a punt Swindon fans?

Harry Smith was a bit of a funny one. Built like a unit and a good finisher. Not really sure what happened there as we think he fell out with DF a bit. It then transpired that he had an issue with depression which he came out on social media about.

I still follow him and he seems to be in a good place at the moment and hungry for football. I personally would have him back at Swindon in a shot, I think there is a good striker there for sure.

Thanks for the feedback, see if any truth in it being him, guess we will know more tomorrow when we report back as a couple of new faces are expected.

He had gambling problems I think. For a big guy I seem to remember he couldn’t jump very high.

Walker and Khan would be a good sign of intent.

We really need a centre back to sign up yet too, although Diamond is still on the books to be fair.

What's going on with Mirfin? We are meant to have made a bid for a 'game-changing' player, probably a winger as that is top of our shopping list, wonder if we are in for Khan too...
